"If only we could bring Miri with us..." Kazuki sulks. "She would love this." Tokyo is huge and packed full of people everywhere you look. We came here a couple days before Shigeki is meant to arrive so we can scope the area out and also explore the city a little together. "Kazuki's briefcase also had coordinates of old hideouts used by the organisation when they used to do jobs up here. So we plan on using one in particular that's a few kilometres away from Hiiro No Umi. It's close enough that we won't have to make a long trip yet far enough that they shouldn't expect anything. "I think so too. We'll come back someday." I shed some light. "It should be this building right here." I point at an abandoned structure made of brick that has definitely seen better days. "We should have just gotten a hotel." "And risk us getting getting caught? Staying here is our best cover. Besides. All hideouts were purposely hidden away in buildings like this to avoid suspicion. If I remember correctly, it's a lot better on the inside." I understand Kazuki's disdain for this sight. It's not pretty. "Still have that key?" I ask. "Certainly do." he takes it out of his pocket to show me. "The real door will be in the back. This one is fake." "Fake?" "Yeah, it's fake. If the door were to be removed, there would be brick behind it. The real way to enter is through a hatch that should be covered up with a bush or something." We walk around the building and start hunting for the hatch. There's a lot of dead overgrown foliage from the lack of maintenance. I would say it looks to be around seven years since anyone has been here. "Why wouldn't the organisation keep up with their hideouts?" Kazuki complains while moving around fallen branch. "It's been nearly a decade that they stopped doing business here in order to make way for Shigeki's peers to move in without raising attention." I explain. "How are we going to find this thing. It's so har- oh wait. here it is." Kazuki let's out a big sigh of relief. "Help me move this off." sitting on top of the hatch is a giant boulder that sits perfectly on top to mask the hatch. We start to push on it, which is pretty difficult. "This thing is heavy." Kazuki pauses for a moment to catch his breath. "Keep pushing." "Fiiiiine. Let's hurry this up, it'll rain soon." slowly but surely, the big stone begins to shift as our weight pushes against it. A clap of thunder sounds off in the distance as drops of rain begin to sprinkle down. "Apparently soon means right now." he laughs to himself. "It's almost there." I mention. This is straining, if only I was right about the bush theory. Eventually after much effort, we were able to remove the boulder from the steel doors. "Finally!" Kazuki drops to his knees completely out of strength. "Give me the key." I tell Kazuki. He pulls it back out of his pocket and hands it to me. "Hopefully it's not too dusty in there...I have allergies." "You're going to end up cleaning anyway, it doesn't matter either way." "Excuse me, what makes you say that? I'm not your maid!" he takes offence. "You always clean everything. Remember how you cleaned our hotel rooms whenever you thought the housekeeping didn't do a good enough job?" "Quiet, you!" Kazuki appeared annoyed but quickly went back to smiling. I can't help but smirk back at him. "Okay, unlock it before we catch a cold because of this godforsaken rain."
The padlock is rusty as hell, we're out of luck if the lock is broken. "Here goes nothing..." It's definitely resisting against the key, but luckily with some force I was able to remove the padlock. We head inside and end up in the basement. The air is damp and musty. "They have enough tin cans?" Kazuki takes notice at the shelves littered with empty cans and other various garbage. "Let's go to the main floor." I lead us up a flight of creaky stairs to another door that opened up into a dimly lit living area. "All this stuff was just left here to rot? Look at this couch! It must have cost a fortune." Kazuki says in awe. "It's probably full of dust, I wouldn't sit on it." We brought our own stuff to sleep on so we can avoid inhaling the dust and dander from the furnishings. "You're right Rei, I need to clean this place up if we're staying here for awhile." Kazuki opens his pack and I roll my eyes when I see he brought his cleaning supplies here with him. "Don't roll your eyes at me." he pokes out his tongue. Kazuki gets to wiping stuff down making sure he shows me how grey each of his cloths get with every wipe to showcase the sheer amount of dust. He is always so happy to clean up. Is it something he enjoys to do, or does he do it because is what I think is to be expected? Either way, he hasn't complained much. "I'm going to check surveillance in the mean time." I say. I bring the laptop out of the briefcase and sit down on a mat Kazuki had laid on the floor. There's nothing unusual, but it's good keep up with the daily events so we know what to prepare for. So far, it's just a small bunch of armed guards and what appears to be medical staff. I suppose it's a good idea to keep medically trained individuals around a place like that. It might come in handy for us too. Means there's an infirmary within the facility. Oddly enough, there are no cameras inside said infirmary. I wonder why. We have the layout on the map, so we'll know where it's at regardless so it's fine. Okay, I need to take notes of everything I see. Map out an escape route in case things go bad, mark where the usual guard posts are, find the best possible way of getting to main control room, and most importantly, find where the security chief is. If we're going to pull this off, we'll need his keys. The organisation is old fashioned, they won't update their locks to keycards because they can be easily hacked. Standard keys come with their own issues of course, trying to figure out what key goes to what will be hell. Be as it may, we're slim on choices.
Study time.———
"The city is beautiful isn't it?" Kazuki asks as we walk. Fukuoka isn't comparable to Tokyo at all. It's like a whole new world here. The bright neon signs above, the digital billboards, the everything here is insane. We're at Shibuya crossing currently and I'm amazed. "I guess so. It's my first time in this area." I respond. "The last time I came to Tokyo was when I was 19 on trip with some friends, it's exactly how I remember it. Busy and lively." Kazuki goes on some kind of nostalgia trip. "I only came here twice before, but I wasn't able to explore, I was here for jobs rather than for leisure." I had to report back as soon as I finished up with what I had to do. Not that I would go off to explore even if given the opportunity. I had no desire nor will. We still have to be wary of our surroundings. You never know who might be lurking around a dark corner. Extra precautions have been taken to give us a better shot at not being recognised. Kazuki is wearing a stripy orange sweater, black jeans, and his regular boots since for the first time in his life decided he doesn't want to spend more money. He did however get his hair styled. It's swept back, exposing his forehead with some hair gel to keep it in place. Me on the other hand have a black jacket, white long sleeve shirt, dark blue jeans, and a pair of black and white canvas shoes. I didn't know what to do with my hair, so I brushed it to the side and straightened it to make it less poofy. Kazuki said I look like an edgy teenager , but I didn't really care. As long as I don't look like myself, It might be fine...it is annoying having to constantly sweep the hair from my left eye so I can see.
"If it makes you feel better, I don't remember much from when I was here. Our entire group just got super drunk and partied the whole time. So in a way, we're experiencing Tokyo together for the first time." We've been out looking at things and going through various shops for hours. We have a ton of stuff to take back. Most of which are gifts for Miri, which he plans on sending them all to her mother's address when we return to Fukuoka. "Hey, kid!" a man yells somewhere in the crowd but we choose to ignore it, thinking it's nothing. "Where should we go now?" Kazuki asks me. "Maybe we sh-" I'm grabbed roughly on the shoulder and spun around. It's a police officer. "You know it's past curfew right?" I'm stunned by the sudden confrontation and say nothing as I try to pull myself together. "You don't need to be so rough. Get your hands off of him!" Kazuki didn't hesitate to get involved. "Are you his father?" "What? No. What did you even grab him for?" I as usual let Kazuki do the talking, socialising isn't my strong suit. Besides, why would I ever speak to the cops? "If you're not his guardian, I suggest you move along." the officer speaks bruskly. "He thinks I'm a kid." I whisper at Kazuki. Kazuki instantly bursts into laughter. "You? A kid? I knew that outfit made you look younger, but man wasn't expecting you'd fool a cop with it." The officer disregards Kazuki and turns his attention back to me. "How old are you?" "I'm twenty-six." Kazuki is still laughing while I talk. "You look like you're my son's age. Can I see some ID?" I'm confused at why this cop is on my case so hard. I don't carry a real ID with me ever, I keep a fake one on me however. I pull it out of my wallet and hand it over. "Kaburo Takashi. Born July 23rd, 1997." he reads the ID out loud "Alright, that's good enough for me. My apologies for the inconvenience." The officer gives back the ID and leaves the scene. "That was hilarious, but I think we should take that as a sign and head back. My arms are getting tired from holding all these bags. In speaking of which, you hold some too." Kazuki forces me to help. "It's late anyway." The greatest thing about our hideout is where it's located. It's only a few minutes away from Shibuya Crossing. Pretty convenient. "Tomorrow is our last day free day till we have to get to work, so let's make the most of our time before we have to get serious." I asked Kazuki to plan out what we do for the day, he's a lot better at making choices for us and he seems to know exactly what I would like always. "What have you got in store for tomorrow?" "That is a surprise you will have to wait for. I will tell you though, It's to make up from our shortened first date." "First date?" "Remember when we went to the arcade?" "I do, but the only reason it was cut short was because of you." He considered it a date after all? Interesting. "Yeah, yeah. I know, but time around will be different...unlesssssss." Physical intimacy is Kazuki's love language, that does also include non-sexual contact too. For the most part however, his favourite way of expressing his affection is through sex. That's perfectly fine by me, Kazuki is very attentive and tends to prioritise what I like. He gets better with each of our encounters it seems. He was my first and still remains to be the only person I've made it with. It's not a bad thing to not be experienced, or that's what Kazuki told me anyway. I want to try things out with him. I couldn't ever tell him about it because I would just die from the shame, but I've been seeking for advice online for different bedroom activities that I think Kazuki might be into. Now it is just about me gaining the courage to actually ask him if he'd want to. I haven't tried to be the aggressor even once. Tonight would probably be the best night for me to finally make the attempt. So that's exactly what Im going to do once we're back at the hideout. Im so nervous.
