Everything I wish for

Athena's Pov

I cannot bring myself not to think about Aurora. She looks like a goddess whose ground I would worship. I was really looking forward to spending my time at the party with Aurora by my side but the other girls such as my cousins and the girlfriends and wife of my cousins took her away and I am stuck here with these people. It might make me look bad but I just want to ignore their existence and just exist with my wife. I wished I could convey my feeling but I fear rejection the most.

She looks more comfortable and relaxed than at the time we had arrived. She looked so anxious but cute. I felt a smile creep onto my face and I didn't realize I was looking toward Aurora until my cousin, Ritik pointed it out. " You both are in the same place but you look at her as if she is far away from you," he said chuckling. I just took a drink from my glass, I don't usually drink so it was a non-alcoholic drink. 

People gathered around me continued to talk and I added in here and there. That's when Mom announced that dinner was ready. At last, I don't have to talk to these people anymore. On walking towards the table I couldn't spot Aurora initially but then I saw her covering her body with my coat that I gave her and walking towards the table. Is she feeling okay? Her cheeks are slightly red, she looks so beautiful. Oh! God, she is very unhealthy for my heart.

I walked towards her and pulled her chair for her to sit. She looked at me for a brief second and smiled, the breathing-taking one. I smiled too and sat in my chair. All of us were eating but Aurora wasn't eating much, so, I bent over to her ears and whispered. " Are you feeling okay? If you are not then we can leave right away. Tell me,". She turned in my direction, looked straight into my eyes, and placed her hand on the hand of mine which I unconsciously had placed on her thigh which I hadn't realized, my breath hitched. " I am okay, don't worry" she whispered and gave me a very reassuring smile. I slowly nodded and smiled and we went back to eating.

After dinner, dessert was getting served as I don't like eating sugar so I didn't take one Aurora seemed to like it but wasn't moving forward to grab another one, so I took my share and brought it for her. Her eye lit up on seeing me offering the dessert. " You don't want it?" she asked. " No, I don't like sugar and I brought it for you," I said sitting beside her on the couch. Aurora wasn't acting like herself since dinner and later I noticed she was quite drunk so I planned not to leave her side for the rest of our stay. 

At around midnight others started to leave and Aurora was not okay, so I took our leave before everyone. Aurora was not well. It couldn't just be alcohol I am sure, so I placed my hand on her forehead and I was right it seem like she has a fever. So I handed over my car's key to the valet and carried Aurora in a bridal style. I know people are staring but I don't care, I need the comfort of Aurora over people's opinions.

After a couple of minutes, the car arrived and I walked over, put Aurora on her seat, and safely secured her. She was hesitant to let go of my neck but her eyes were closed so I assumed she was doing it in her sleep. It took a couple of tries to loosen her grip. After struggling I succeed and she groaned.

 I chuckled and closed her door and walked to the driver's side. I sat in the car and drove off towards the house. The drive to the house is quite long, on checking the fever it was getting heightened and it might be very high by the time we reach home so I thought it would be better to stay somewhere near here. So I called up my assistant and told him to inform the hotel of our in this area to arrange the topmost floor for our stay tonight. We will be arriving in an hour.

I stopped my car in front of the hotel we were staying at, and no sooner had I stopped our car than the manager of the hotel came to pick us up. I tried waking up Aurora by slightly shaking her but she just frowned and turned the other way. The manager opened my door I got out of the car. She greeted me and I just nodded acknowledging her greeting. I walked towards Aurora's door, opened it, and unbuckled her seat belt. 

She didn't plan on waking up so I just took her in the bridal style again and brought her out of the car. As the cold air hit her skin, she tried to bury herself in my body's warmth. Luckily, she had my long overcoat over her so it protected her from much cold air. She looks so cute sleeping in my arms. I started walking towards the VIP entrance.

The manager was leading the way, Aurora woke up during our ride in the elevator. She realized where she was and wiggled and tried to get off. I held her tightly. " it's okay. Just stay where you are, we are about to reach", I said softly. " But I am heavy," she said fiddling with my shirt. " No, it's absolutely fine," I said back. Does she think she is heavy? She is so light that I can carry her the whole day and not be tired.

Ding-ding, the elevator doors opened, " after you, ma'am" she said. I walked towards our room. I stopped right in front of the door and the manager came and opened the door for us. The room was well prepared, I mean it always is still whatever... I think. " If you need anything else, ma'am. Call for me" she said and I just nodded at her and she closed the door on her way out.

" Now can you put me down? " Aurora asked softly and shyly.
