Everything I wish for

Aurora's Pov

I am glad she liked the dishes I was worried that it was not of her liking but towards the end, she looked uncomfortable. She tried to convince me that she was okay I didn't buy it but decided not to push it maybe she isn't comfortable sharing it yet.

I decided to go home and do the college assignments were due this week. While doing the assignment I didn't realize when the time had passed it was already night and the maids had left after doing their work. I went downstairs thinking that I was alone in the house. So I was singing along to the song playing in my Air Pods and singing along with the song. I went to the counter and served myself dinner but I almost dropped my plate when I saw Athena looking at me with a smile.

" Oh you are home early," I said placing my hand on my chest because I was startled. " I didn't have a lot of work today so I decided to return home, why? I shouldn't have" she said still smiling. " Oh I didn't mean that it's your house you can come and go anytime.." she cut me off saying," it's our house Aurora, we live here together and you are my wife so we share," she said. It took me a second to comprehend her words but when I did I widened my eyes but decided not to say anything. I just nodded and walked to the table with a dinner plate in my hand. Her words made my heart flutter and my body heated up I am pretty sure she realized what she had said but decided not to utter anything else. Athena! I wish I could show you how much you are affecting me.

Today is the weekend and Athena's parents are hosting a family gathering tonight as obvious as it is we are invited. The fact that there will be more than just Athena's parents and younger sibling makes me anxious. As it's a family gathering of such a big family, the theme is business casuals. I don't know what to wear I don't have a lot of formal and especially not something that's going to fit this occasion. I have to dig up my closet to choose a proper outfit I huff and start to look for the dress. The gathering starts at 6 pm I do have a lot of time though but it's better to be prepared beforehand. After a long-term search, I finally found a dress to suit this gathering. It's a long black dress with a slit till mid-thigh with cleavage and long sleeves.

I just hope it suits my body and suits Athena's eye.

I hear my stomach rumble so go downstairs to eat something that's when my phone rings, it's Juliet calling. I pick up after one or two rings," hello" I said, " hey" she replied. " yes Juliet what's up? Did something happen?" I inquired. " oh no i... Called to ask you something" she said nervously. " oh okay. Go ahead I'm listening" walking towards the counter where the maids were working. " Umm are you free today? I want to invite you to a fashion night that is being held tonight. My dad's friend works there so he gave him passes he isn't interested so he gave it to me. You wanted to go to this fashion night so.." she spoke faster than usual, maybe because of nervousness but why though. She was never nervous when she spoke to me before. " oh thank you so much for inviting me Juliet but tonight I a family gathering so can't skip that right? I wish I could go with you".

"Why don't you invite someone else I am sure you will have to accompany you tonight. So sorry" I said sadly. I wanted to go to this fashion night and it's hard to get a pass but I cannot just skip Athena's family gathering right? My impression will be bad plus Athena will have to go through a lot so it's okay will visit some other time. I will try for tomorrow's pass. It's held for two days so i guess still have the chance. Juliet's voice broke my trance of thoughts, " but you wanted to go to this one, are you sure? I mean I have seen you so interested in a family gathering before,". " You don't get it, it's different this time," I said. It is different, its not just me I have to care about now, Athena does so much for me this is the; east I could do for her. " oh okay then. I will look for someone else to go with. I wanted to go with you but can't be helped. Bye" she said disappointed. " bye" I said hanging up.

Finishing my leftover food on the plate, I get up and walk over to the sink. Even though it's the weekend she is still working from home. Maybe I should take lunch for her.
