Dinner had gone just as embarrassing as he had expected. Afterall, Denki and his parents had always been a dangerous combination, but with his sister’s obsession over his love life, the situation was worse.

He had successfully bribed her with ice cream to keep her mouth shut, but his parents were a different story. Fortunately, his parents didn’t stay for long after dinner, and Hitoshi was able to relax afterwards.

Although Denki attempted to annoy Hitoshi for not letting him know that his parents were coming, but Hitoshi quickly shut him down by reminding him of his little stupid ramble at the entrance.

It was safe to say that they would both keep their mouth shuts on what happened.

When Monday arrived, Hitoshi woke up to an empty house. He was well aware that Denki would start working that day, but he couldn’t help but be disappointed.

Hitoshi tried his best to mask his disappointment when Denki came back, and if Denki had noticed him slightly off, he didn’t comment on it.

The next few days went by way too quickly in Hitoshi’s opinion. His time with Denki had been greatly reduced and limited to dinner as their schedules were almost the complete opposite. He would prepare dinner for when Denki arrived, they would eat together, and then he would leave for his night patrol.

By the time Saturday rolled over, the words of Hiotoshi’s friends were eating him alive. He had 2 days left before Denki left, and he had made no advances of any kind this past week.

He decided to go out and buy groceries, a lame attempt at distracting himself. Especially since he doesn't work today, so he had nothing to do. He needed peace from his mind and staying at home doing nothing would not bring it to him.

Unfortunately for him, peace doesn’t appear to want him.

“Put your hands up.”

Hitoshi instinctively held his hands up when he heard the click of a gun, and proceeded to curse himself silently.
This had to be a joke.

“Turn around and give me all of your money.”

Hitoshi slowly turned around and found himself facing a middle aged man. He didn’t seem much taller than him and the way he held his gun was quite bad. It didn’t mean that he wouldn’t shoot, but he was clearly a novice.

“I said give me all of your money! Now!”

Hitoshi didn’t reach for his wallet, instead he began speaking.

“What will you do if I don’t?”

The man was clearly taken aback.

“If you don't, I will sh-”

Hitoshi smirked as he took control over the man, but before he could command him to put his gun down, a figure had jumped from the building, slid down the wall, and pinned the man to the ground with great agility.

“Stay down or I will shock you.”

Small sparks danced around Denki’s body as he glared at the man on the ground, ready to shock him if he tried anything.

“Mhh I had him already.”

Denki looked up, shocked, but still maintaining a strong grip on the man.

“Wh- What? Toshi, what are you doing here?”

Hitoshi hesitated, not really sure of the situation he found himself in. Before Hitoshi could respond Denki smirked and continued

“Or what? Did you miss me so much already that you went looking for me?”

Hitoshi scoffed and folded his arms.

“Don’t think so highly of yourself, I was just going out to buy groceries.”

Denki gasped.

“You break my heart Hitoshi.”

Before Hitoshi could answer, the man that Denki was pinning down began trying to break away from Denki’s grasp.
“Ugh, stop trying to fight. I’ve already got you.”

Denki pulled out quirk suppressant handcuffs and handcuffed the guy, who continued to struggle. After getting himself and the man up, Denki turned to Hitoshi again.

“Sorry to disturb your busy schedule, but do you mind coming with me to the police station? They might want to question you a bit.”

Hitoshi sighed

“I’m not getting away from the paperwork am I?”

Denki smiled

“Nope! Plus you don’t get to complain! I’m doing most of it.”

Hitoshi resigned and followed Denki to the police station. He dreaded doing paperwork. He loved his job, it was his dream after all, but paperwork was detestable.

Although he was going to be questioned more than anything, hopefully there was someone to question him instead of having to fill out the forms himself.

but of course, that’s too much to ask. They were too busy, so they just gave him the papers.

“Don’t look so defeated, Toshi. I’m sure they won’t have you do anything else, it is a pretty low scale case.”

Hitoshi looked to his side. Denki was reading the paperwork and filling out the forms. He was sticking his tongue out, concentrating on the questions.

Hitoshi huffed, but couldn’t help the smile that formed on his face at how endearing Denki was. He reached out and tucked Denki’s lighting bolt, which was covering part of his face, behind his ear.

Denki looked at him, surprised, but did not move.

Hitoshi left his hand holding Denki 's cheek.

“Toshi wha-”

Hitoshi isn’t sure of what possessed him at that moment, but he got closer to Denki. He looked at Denki straight in the eyes, while Denki looked back with wide eyes. Their faces stayed a few inches apart, as Hitoshi waited for Denki to push him away, instead, Denki’s face relaxed and slowly began closing the space in between them.

BEEEP BEEP
.
.
BEEEP BEEP
.

Both jumped back, startled by the sudden noise. Denki reached for his pager, which was vibrating and letting off a loud noise. Hitoshi knew exactly what it meant;
There was an emergency, possibly a villain attack

Denki regained his composure quickly and stood up.

“Sorry, I need to go. Umm… I’ll see you later.”

Denki gave his papers to a police officer and left quickly, while Hitoshi tried to process what was about to happen a few seconds ago.

He. Almost. Kissed. Denki.

And Denki didn’t push him away!

He buried his face in his hands, not fully sure if it was due to embarrassment, excitement, or disappointment.

"Umm… Sir?"

Hitoshi looked up from his hands. A young woman was standing awkwardly in front of him.

"Yes?"

The woman pointed at the stack of papers on his lap.

"You still need to fill out those forms."

Hitoshi sighed and looked at the papers.

He couldn't wait to get home.
