Elrond's POV:
I see a star fall from the dark sky and run into the dining balcony.

"Mother! Mother! Look! A falling star! Didn't you tell me those were signs of life, Valar, and good luck?"

I say as I make my way to her side. She looks up and a shocked look falls upon her usually relaxed face.

"That's lovely dear. Let me go find your father. We can show him."

I see the worry evident on my mother's face but I elected to ignore it while she ushered me to my sleeping chambers.

I go without disagreement and we make it to my room quickly. Mother picks me up, puts me down on my feather-soft bed, and tucks me into the silk bedding. She begins singing a soft tune and the darkness begins to overcome me and I fall into the land of dreams.

Elwing's POV:
When my son falls asleep I rush out and go to find my husband. When I finally reach the throne room I begin to open my mouth but Eärendil beats me to it.

"Do not worry darling I saw it. I will gather a group of guards and leave for the crash site. It shouldn't take too long. Please take care of Elrond for me. For both of us."

I nod and begin tearing up. He stands up and grasps my shaking shoulder. He releases me from his tight hug and leaves to change into armor. He says goodbye and he along with

Eärendil's POV:
My guards and I flee Rivendell in search of the fallen star. I look up just in time to see it crash into one of the many mountains in the distance. Fallen stars can be gifts or curses from the Valar and neither should be placed in the hands of evil.

Me and my men make our ways to the area of the fallen star but I believe it will be a very long journey. I'm not certain how close it is but I'm hoping it is closer than I think.

We walk for days, always on edge even when I read the letters that my wife sends me.

~~~~three weeks later~~~~
We finally reached the divet in the ground and there is a newborn child, swaddled in a dark teal blanket. The hair on the top of its head is white. That's all I can see. I jump into the hole and grab the small child.
When I hand the child up to one of my guards, orcs erupt from the tree line. One of the larger, bulkier orcs jumped into the hole with me. Before I know it, I am getting more tired as time moves on. I'm sorry my child. I'm sorry my wife. I can not go on any longer. I feel a sharp pain erupt from my chest. I look down and the beast's sword is in my chest and I watch the ground, soon it comes towards my face rapidly.
I see a white light and Eru is sitting on his high, mighty throne. I bow down and rest on one knee. A loud, booming voice cuts through the air and rests on my shoulders.
"You did well, child. You protected which was sent to middle earth. Your family will be blessed greatly for protecting my great niece. She is by far the most important person in what is to come. Her future is great. She is higher than me after all."
I look up in shock. My mouth, opening and closing like a fish. I regain composure and bow once more.
"It is my honor lord Eru. Who is the- the babe in the teal blanket is the child in which you speak of?"
Eru nods. He waves his hand at me and speaks in a softer voice.
"Go. Be free. You may watch your wife and children if you wish but your wife, I fear, will join you in due time. You will be reunited when the message of your passing has been delivered. Four days after."
My eyes widen in pure shock and heartbreak. Tears began to well in my eyes. I nod and exit the throne room. A tall, kind-faced ellon steps up and smiles sadly at me.
"It will be alright. Follow me to your chambers."
I follow silently and solemnly. We make it to my large chambers, made for two. I sat on the bed and something came out from the desk. I pushed a wooden panel and a light emitted from it. I smile, with tears in my eyes as I see my wife, and children. I see my guards approaching the tense elloth, who is my wife, and tell her the news of my passing.
Elwing begins crying and falls to her knees. She grasps at her heart, like she's in pain and the guard speaks to her once more. The children begin crying at their mother's distress
"He died protecting a child. A child who we have brought along with us."
The anger on the children's faces was evident and I got nervous for the baby. The guard reveals the sleeping babe and my son's faces go slack. They obviously were not expecting a newborn baby.
"Why does she have white hair mother?"
My wife looks up at Elrond and smiles sadly but answers nonetheless.
"She is a gift from Eru. She will bring blessings to us. My children, don't dawn on it too much. It will be okay."
"Mother, you could die! the death of father will kill you!"
Elros said with anger in his voice. Elrond also has an upset expression, though Elrond was more calm towards the child than Elros.
I push the panel on the table once more and I feel a fresh wave of tears cascade down my face and I sit on the edge of my bed and weep into my hands.
Elwing's POV:
The news of my husband's death broke my heart. I could feel it, it caused me great pain especially when I felt myself dying because of it. I won't be able to raise my children.
"My children. If I do not live through this heartbreak, take care of the child. Hold no hate towards her. Love her as you do each other."
Elros looks at me with shock, and fright. Elrond looks crestfallen, sad if you will.
"We will take care of her mother. If Elros will not I will at least."
Elrond spoke quietly but still spoke. I had a dozen things going through my head.
"What will we name her?"
Elros rolled his eyes and left. Elrond shook his head and put his hand over his eyes. He took the child and held her in his warm embrace. He bounced her gently and I could feel the brotherly, almost fatherly, aura surrounding him. I smiled proudly at my youngest.
He smiled up at me but I lost balance and the ground began to get closer to my face. Before Elrond could help me I had already fallen and he shouted for help as I faded in and out of consciousness.
Elrond's POV:
My naneth (mother) fell and I shouted for help but no help came soon enough. I set the baby down on a stone bench of sorts and I was debating whether or not she was dead due to the lack of noise.
I put my mothers head in my lap as I sobbed. I cried until I had nothing left to cry. That is when the child began crying and the guards finally arrived.
"You're all late. She has passed on now. She has rejoined my father."
The guards looked disappointed in themselves and I just set nanath's (mother's) head to the side and slowly rose to my feet while my legs shook.
"We apologize. Your brother was creating a disturbance and we had no choice but to end it. It was a disturbance to everyone and the wildlife. He threatened to kill you and the child."
My eyes widened when I came to the realization I was almost alone. I had the baby and I knew then and there, I would let no harm come upon this innocent child.
I love you, little one. You are safe with me. Do not worry. I will raise you as my own. Though I am not sure how. It will all be okay.
