I feel like I just ran a marathon across the field. I was trying to catch my breath as the snare captain tapped a beat for everyone to march towards the track. I caught a quick glimpse of Ziggy and y/n running with their xylophone to get out of the way. Cindy and I tried to run after them but we had to stay with the rest of the band. I knew that after halftime was over, y/n always started to get anxious because that meant we had to go back home. I always try to be with her at home because of her past but I'll let her tell that story when she is ready.

"How did you do?" Cindy asked me, pulling me out of my trance of watching Ziggy and y/n.

"Oh, I think I did good. How about you?"

"Pretty good, I lost time during our diagonal but other than that, fine. Where's Ziggy and y/n?"

"Still loading the truck." I glanced back over at the truck and saw Ziggy and y/n yelling at the boys and giving them instructions on how to load the truck. Cindy started to giggle.

"They're good at bossing them around aren't they?" she chuckled.

"Yep, they are," I replied as I watched y/n's best guy friend hoist her in the air and twirl her around. I heard one of the other boys scream, "Awww my favorite couple!!" and I smirked. I know that they aren't dating and they never will date because that boy is gay. I looked over at Ziggy and she kind of just stood there. But as soon as y/n was put down, she and Ziggy ran up to each other and wrapped themselves in each other's arms and didn't let go until the boys had loaded the truck. All four of us met up and talked about the halftime show and other things until it was time to leave. When the game was over and our team had won, y/n started to disconnect from the group. We all loaded on the bus and I noticed that Ziggy and y/n had fallen asleep on each other.
