Seungmin was ten when his mother died. He didn't understand then, how the world could take away such a kind and loving person. He still remembers the color of the curtains in that hospital room, the pattern of the tiles.

Seungmin gripped his mothers hand tightly, she smiles at him,

"Look at me Seungmin sweetie, its going to be ok, alright?"

He looks at her, she's smiling so brightly, laying there, as if she truly believes it will be ok, but a tear tracks down her lovely face.

Seungmin is crying. He tries, really tries to stop it, but tears drip onto his lap steadily.

"M-mom- I can't"–

"Shhh Seungmin, listen to me, you can," she says, reaching up weakly to brush away his tears. He nods, sniffing, and she takes her hand away to pull something from under her shirt. It glints in the late morning light filtering threw the window. Seungmin's eyes widen, as she struggles to unclasp it from her neck.

"I-its Dad's necklace?" He whispers. She nods, holding the silver pendant out with a shaking hand. The chain swings with the movement.

"Your father gave this to me, so that I could keep you safe Seungmin. Take it, never lose this necklace, okay? Keep it with you always. It will keep you safe– and if you are in trouble, it will help you, okay Seungmin? Take it."

Seungmin took it from her cold, shaking fingers, swallowing a sob as the warm metal pressed into his palm. It tingled, like a spark.

"Mom please- don't"– But she only smiled at him again,

"Good boy, promise me you will have it always, okay?"

"I promise– I promise just"–

But she was already closing her eyes, sad smile still on her face,

"It was always yours, Seungmin. I love you, my little angel."

Seungmin rubbed the metal now, running his thumb over the familiar pentagram and cat head design. He kept rubbing, as the tall red haired boy–the Demon dashed away, out of the alley.

Leaving him. Everyone was always leaving him. So that's what his mom had meant, she left him God damn Demon surprise.

Protect me? Bullshit. He wanted to cry. Or scream.

He wracked his brain for anything his Mom might have told him about Demons and summoning.

Right, Demons can be bound to a human by an object of significance.... But that requires a contract ritual, so what was...

Ah, I remember, she used to love to talk about it. 'A Demon in its most vulnerable state, chosen by a Blood Debt Contract, and bond to serve a Human regardless of decision.'

So that was it then. Wait, then doesn't that mean...?

Seungmin closed his hand over the necklace,

"Come back."

He nearly jumped back in surprise as the red haired boy appeared right in front of him again. So it does work, wow.

The Demon swore, clenching his fists in clear frustration. He glared at Seungmin,

"Could you stop that?!"

Seungmin blinked, what, no way, I can control him, if I command with intention. Holy– He met the Demon boy's red eyes,

"Put your left arm up."
