I watch in admiration as Alina looks around her at all the people.
She looks so gorgeous in her pretty little light pink dress and the big bow on her head. She's getting a good view of all the guests who are entering the cathedral for Leonid and Gianna's wedding. Especially since she is in her father's arms who is very tall.
She probably senses my stare because she suddenly looks at me and smiles widely.
"Mama."
Akim and I immediately stop walking as soon as that word leaves her mouth. My heart explodes in happiness, and I look at her with almost tearful eyes.
"Mama? You called me mama?" I ask her, wanting her to so badly say it again because it felt so good. I've been waiting for this day since the moment I held her in my arms for the first time.
She giggles staring at me.
"Mama. Say mama." Akim urges her with a smile, and she giggles at him too.
"Mama." She suddenly says and giggles when staring at me and her father's face.
"Yes, I'm your mama." I take her from Akim's arms and hug her tightly in mine. I shower her in so many kisses symbolizing how happy I am and how much I love her.
She takes my kisses happily while laughing hard at the feeling of them.
"Te amo tanto, mi angelito." I tell her very seriously while looking into those big grey eyes of hers that are the same shade as her father's.
"Mama." She repeats and I melt at the sound of her little sweet voice. Alina then attempts to send me a kiss with her little lips but fails. I'm sure she'll get there eventually.
"I'm very proud of you, rybka." Akim stares down at her with soft eyes and she turns to look at him.
She smiles happily as if understanding what he is saying. She moves her little hands up toward him as if demanding with them that he carries her again. Her father does very well with obliging to her demands and since she is spoiled, he immediately takes her away from me without making her wait any longer.
I happily hold onto Akim's arm not being able to get my daughter's little voice out of my head while we continue walking toward the cathedral doors.
We take a seat at a bench a few moments later. Akim has Alina seated on his lap as he talks to her about the place, and she looks around. I smile listening to them and watching. It's a beautiful thing to witness and I'm very sure that I could listen and watch them forever and only fall in love with them both more by the second.
__
Everyone in the cathedral gets on their feet including us except Akim is holding Alina in his arms.
We all turn our attention to the huge cathedral doors and Leonid who is at the altar anxiously waiting for his soon to be bride to walk through those doors. Just from what I'm seeing I'm sure he will cry when seeing Gianna. Especially since I'm more than sure that she is going to walk in looking like a whole goddess in her wedding dress.
The trumpets finally begin to sound throughout the place, playing the traditional song that is usually played when brides are walking down the aisle.
The doors then begin to slowly open to show Gianna and Dario at her side to walk her down the aisle. They begin to slowly walk in, and I've never known that I was the emotional type when it came to weddings until now because I swear, I might cry. I think that it might just be because Gianna is one of my closest friends and I have a lot of love and adoration for her.
It makes me feel so proud to see her on such a special day in her life. She looks so happy and it's such a beautiful thing to witness. I truly wish her the best on her new journey in life.
"He's fucking crying." Akim chuckles from beside me and I look over at Leonid who is in fact crying as he happily stares at his bride.
He has a big and genuine smile on his face as he keeps his eyes trained on her. He isn't even trying to hide the fact that he is crying, and it makes it all so much better.
Katya looks over at me from her row with a look of awe. She's clearly thinking the same as me and it makes me so glad that Gianna has found her happiness.
When I turn to look back in front of me, my eyes land on Amado who is on the other side of the cathedral. He seems annoyed with the two Russians beside him. Nikolai and Vladimir seem to be at the verge of tears and look like they're fighting with their lives to not let them free.
Gianna finally reaches the altar and Dario hands her over to Leonid.
__
Dario cries hysterically on Amado's shoulder and he seems to not be enjoying it.
The music is drowning him out as Leonid and his daughter happily have their first dance as a couple. Dario seems to have had a lot of alcohol already and it's the reason he decided to let his tears of happiness out. It's quite weird to see but it's beautiful that he is so proud and happy for his daughter.
I'm currently watching the freshly married couple in front of me have their first dance. Katya and her brothers are seated beside me on my right side as they too watch. They have small matching smiles on their lips, and they just look like the cutest little family ever.
On my left side Akim is seated closely to me watching his brother with a faint smile while holding our sleeping daughter in his arms. He glances at me and smiles a bit more before leaning down a little and giving me a small kiss on the cheek.
__
I observe the drunk men on the dance floor.
Nikolai and Vladimir are two amongst them all. They're dancing with some sort of alcohol in their hands. It's clear that they're drunk because they're trying to sing along with the older Italian men. The song is in Italian and last time I checked they only knew English and Russian.
I then turn to look at Katya and her brothers. She's recording them laughing as they horribly try to dance in front of her. They all seem to be having the time of their lives and everything just feels fine in life.
It feels a lot like peace, and I hope it stays this way.
I suddenly feel Akim kiss me on the cheek to grab my attention. I look at him and he instantly kisses me on the lips. A very faint stain of my red lipstick appears on his lips, and I wipe it off with my thumbs.
"Do you know how much I love you?" The look he gives me sends butterflies to flutter in my stomach.
"How much?" I decide to respond with a smile on what he will say.
"I would jump off the tallest building in the world without questions if you asked me to." His ridiculous answer earns a small chuckle from me.
I softly kiss him back on the cheek carefully trying not to stain him again.
"You're crazy but I love it. I love you." I look into his eyes that are a part of him that made me fall in love with him first.
We both coincidentally look down at little Alina who is still sleeping peacefully in his arms.
"She's the result of that love we have for each other."
The End.
