"I gotta go," Sara said. "I'm at a meeting." She turned her phone off. She had just gotten off the phone with Jenny, who, to say the least, had kind of spoiled her good mood. They had been talking about Javier, and Jenny had her opinions.

What were they exactly?

"You don't like him?" Sara had said. "You haven't even met him."

"Exactly," Jenny said. "Are you guys ever going to come to Eureka? I need to find out some things about who my little sister is in love with."

"Is it just because you haven't met him?" Sara had asked. "Cause that's not really fair."

Jenny sighed into the phone. "No," she said. "Honestly, I just kind of have a bad feeling about him. But I'm sure it's nothing." Jenny's words had been echoing in Sara's mind since the phone call, and he didn't know whether to blow the thoughts off or consider them. Jenny was usually right about people, but come on, this was the love of Sara's life. It had to be different, right?

Sara walked into the bright-colored room at Epic, smiling when she saw the people that had given her everything recently.

"Hey!" She went through the usual round of hugs and handshakes, and then a short guy with a huge mug of steaming coffee and a beard said, "I guess you're wondering why I gathered you all here this morning." Everyone in the room laughed and fired jokes back. The friendly, not-too-serious atmosphere was one thing she liked about Epic, and she was glad to work with people she considered friends.

"But yeah," Sara said. "I am, at least. That call kind of scared the shit out of me at first. You guys do that a lot."

"Why?" her manager asked. Sara rolled her eyes jokingly. "I mean, I don't know why you guys feel the need to scare people, but I always get scared that I'm losing my contract or something."

"And why would that happen?"

"Fuck, I don't know! You tell me!" The guy with the coffee whistled.

"She's a feisty one," he said. Sara laughed and took a sip of her own coffee.

"But seriously," she said. "What's this about?"

"We just wanna know where you are right now," her manager said.

"Well, if I had to guess, I would say I was in this room." Her manager rolled his eyes. "Sara Beth Bareilles, I might just have to withdraw that contract," he joked. Sara smiled.

"Relax, I'm just giving you hell."

"So have you been writing?" A guy asked. Sara nodded.

"A little." Her manager raised his eyebrow.

"Like how much?"

"Uh... one song. Why?"

"Well," a guy leaned back in his chair. "We were wondering when you wanted to make a new album. Or, at least, how you were feeling right now about all that." Sara was confused. Was she being forced? She tried to conjure a response that wouldn't sound too rude.

"Oh. Um, okay..."

"What do you want to do?" Well, that was part of the problem. Sara didn't exactly know if she wanted to begin working on a new album or not; she had just released Little Voice a year ago. Part of her wanted to get back in the studio, but part of her was burnt out on music stuff.

"Um, honestly, I don't know. I really like where I am right now, with Little Voice having so much success. I kind of want to keep that going... and to be honest, I'm kind of burnt out on music. But..." Sara sighed. She hated making decisions.
