Javier knocked. Sara grinned and hugged him, forgetting about everything. He kissed her and said,

"You look pretty."

"You just saw me."

"Maybe I forgot how pretty you looked and now it's rushing back." Sara smiled and led him to the couch.

"I missed you."

"I could've stayed."

"I know. I just needed to be alone." Javier nodded.

"Everything's gonna be fine. You'll get through this," he said, but she could sense he was scared, too.

"Yeah. I don't wanna talk about it."

"Okay. I miss hearing your voice though." Sara smiled.

"I thought you'd be happy." Javier laughed.

"Nah." Sara raised her eyebrows, noticing something.

"You seem happy."

"I'm always happy when I'm with you." Holy shit. Could Sara be any more in love with him?

"Yeah, but you seem extra happy." Javier smiled.

"I don't know. I guess so. Epic called and said they wanted to get with me and discuss signing me." Sara sat up.

"Are you serious? That's great!"

"Thanks. They're not sure yet, but they seemed to like me. So we'll see." Sara grinned, happy that Javier was happy. Funny how one person could become your happiness.

"You okay?" Javier interrupted Sara's thoughts and moved closer to her. They had just finished dinner, and Sara was trying to figure things out for the millionth time in the past day.

"Yeah. Just thinking."

"About what?" Javier asked.

"If you had to guess..." Javier smiled a little.

"Look," he said. "You can't spend all your time worrying over what might happen. We don't know anything yet. Go with it." Sara rolled her eyes.

"It's my career," she said.

"Maybe you can find something else in music you like to do besides singing if it doesn't work out." Sara looked at him in disbelief. Somethingelse? Like what? There was nothing else she ever wanted to do; she couldn't believe he'd even consider that. But... maybe he was right. What happened if he was right? Sara got that sick feeling in her stomach again and tried to breathe.

"Are you serious?" she said. Shit. Good job, Sara, she told herself. Everything was hitting her.

"No. Sorry. I just wanna make everything better, but I can't. I shouldn't have said that. Quit talking," Javier said.

"No, its not that," Sara replied. "It's just... Now I'm faced with this, and what if you're right? I can't believe this... This wasn't what was supposed to happen."

"I know, baby. I don't know what to do... Whatever I do, it won't make you feel better, I know." Sara nodded and kissed him, glad he understood.

"That was random," Javier said. Sara smiled.

"I'm getting tired of not talking," she said. "Not as easy as I thought."

"At least we both have unlimited minutes." Sara laughed and typed.

"Don't take this the wrong way," she said, "but I think it's fucked up how they haven't decided to sign you or not yet." Javier nodded.

"It is. Kind of unprofessional in my opinion."

"Definitely. Have you been doing anything lately?" Sara glared at him.

"Oh, shit," he said. "Sorry. I'm just not used to this."

"It's fine," Sara replied, but it wasn't. Not completely. But she couldn't blame him. She wasn't used to it, either. It always felt weird losing her voice. She told herself to focus on something else, that she was with Javier, and their love was what she needed right now.

"I'm bored," she said.

"Same here." Just then Sara remembered something important.

"Oh, uh, I need to talk to you."

"What is it?" Sara took a deep breath.

"Okay. So I've been thinking, and I want you to move in with me. Or whatever. It's your choice." Javier grinned.

"Okay."

"Okay."

"I'm happy you decided."

"Me too." Sara wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned in, hungry for his touch. No matter how much time they spent together, (which, Sara thought, was quite a lot these days) she couldn't get enough of him.

Later that evening, the two walked hand-in-hand through a park in the moonlight.

"So what do you think the future will be for us?" Sara wondered. Javier shrugged.

"I don't know. Why?"

"Just wondering." Sara couldn't help thinking about marrying him. She hadn't been ready before, but now she was wondering if maybe she wanted to have a future with him. She could totally see it. He was so amazing, and she couldn't possibly love him any more.

So she again punched herself inside for not saying yes before. Like, duh, Sara. She ran away from something that she wanted later on. She should've jumped at the chance. Would he ask again?
