Skye remained in the hospital for a few days before being discharged with the recommendation to stay at rest and take medication. After she was released from the hospital the PAW Patrol returned to Adventure Bay but Skye and Zuma even though they had been eliminated were still warmly welcomed by the townspeople.

Ryder and the pups arrived at the town square and when they stepped off the PAW Patroller, the people of Adventure Bay began to applaud and celebrate Zuma and Skye because for them they had won even though they knew that they had suffered a bitter defeat

"Zuma and Skye, congratulations on your participation at the NPL, so I and the citizens of Adventure Bay would like to express our gratitude for these two medals." The Mayor Goodway said.

"Thanks, Mayor, there was no need, we only played two games each and did not do great things," Skye said.

"Even though you did not make it through the qualifiers for us, you were the best players, and we are happy that you live in this beautiful city." The Mayor replied.

"Thank you very much Mayor, but we are tired as we had a long journey from Sacramento to here so if you don't mind we would like to go and rest," Ryder said realizing that Skye and Zuma were under pressure in that situation.

"Sure Ryder, go and rest. Citizens you may go now, thank you for helping me." Goodway said.

Before long Ryder and the pups arrived at the lookout, tired but happy to be home again.

"Pups, we are home. Now you can unpack and rest, I'm going to go wash up, so don't get into trouble." Ryder said.

"Yes, Ryder." All said. The pups packed their bags and went to their pup houses, but Skye had to get help from Chase as she could not walk.

"Thanks for the help Chase, if you want you can stay with me until Ryder is back." She said, lying down and making room for the German Shepherd.

"O-Okay Skye." He said blushing. "Are you still sad about being disqualified?"

"No, I don't care about the competition anymore, I just hope Polly can win because I strongly believe in her. And it would be a very important victory for her." She said.

Chase was happy that she was no longer sad about his undoing but he felt sorry for her paw, he knew that the two of them would no longer be able to play and have a good time together until she recovered.

"Skye, until you get better I promise I will stay by your side," Chase said making Skye smile.

"Thank you, Chase, I am happy to have a friend like you." She said happily but also sadly that she called Chase a friend because she loved him but had been waiting for an answer from him for too long, and this feeling was slowly fading.

"Nevermind." He said reflecting on Skye's answer. His mind couldn't accept the two of them being just friends after all this time.

Before long Skye, tired and under the influence of the medicine they had been given, fell asleep next to Chase. The pastor watched over her, protecting her and making her feel safe. He loved her and would do anything to protect her even risking his own life.

A couple of hours passed, Ryder after washing and resting decided to go and see what the pups were doing and, not at all surprised, found them all asleep.

When he arrived at Skye's kennel, he found the two pups sleeping peacefully inside but decided to wake Chase anyway.

"Hey Chase, wake up," Ryder said caressing him.

The German Shepherd opened his eyes and was happy to find Ryder stroking him, he thanked his owner for being there and asked him what he wanted from him.
