Chapter Four: Meet the Team

The days between Skye and Zuma and the start of qualifying were over.
Skye and Zuma had trained every day to be better prepared but now that their adventure starts, from now on they will face opponents with abilities equal or superior to theirs and also will have to try to get to the end of the qualifying.

The PAW Patrol was in the town square ready to leave for Sacramento, the pups were excited as they would visit a big city in California. But Skye and Zuma were focused only on one thing, win or at least get as close to being qualified as possible.

In the square in front of Adventure Bay Town Hall, Ryder and the mayor were discussing the idea of taking a break from the PAW Patrol to relax them and allow Skye and Zuma to focus on the competition.

"I don't know Mayor, are you sure about that? What if you need us?" Ryder said concerned about his city

"Don't worry Ryder, we're going to make it without you for a few days, and it's not the first time you guys have been missing from Adventure Bay. When you went to Adventure City we lasted well without you. So don't worry, we'll be fine." The Mayor said soothingly. Mayor Goodway wanted to win the League to have fame and money for Adventure Bay.

"Okay Mayor, but if Adventure Bay needs help I'm prepared to return." 

"Don't worry, now go. Your pups are waiting for you." The Mayor said greeting the boy.

Ryder headed for the PAW Patroller concerned that the city would get into trouble without his team, but the mayor's words made him feel better. He also couldn't leave Zuma and Skye alone in a city like Sacramento, he knew it wasn't like Adventure City. 
So the boy was also in the middle of a conflict, on the one hand, he was worried about his city, but on the other, he feared for his puppies.

"Hey Ryder are you okay?" Chase asked his owner.

"Yes Chase I'm okay, now pups prepare to depart to Sacramento," Ryder said sitting behind the wheel.

"I'm excited to see Sacramento, is more big than Adventure City," Marshall said.

"Yeah, and it has many types of restaurants." Rubble said making the pups laugh.

The PAW Patrol departed from Adventure Bay, the journey was not so long but it certainly was more than when they went to Adventure City. 

During the trip, the puppies talked, joked and after eating they went to sleep but Zuma and Skye could not sleep because they were too focused on the competition that awaited them.

"You can't sleep either, Zuma?"

"Yes Skye, I can't stop thinking about what the race will be like and who we should face to win, and the most important thing, if we can win," Zuma said worried for his performance.

"Me too Zuma, but we've been practicing for three days in a row, and now we're ready to take on anyone who stands in front of us. Besides, we're not alone, we have Ryder and the others on our side." Skye said to reassure her friend.

"Yes Skye, you have right. I'm not gonna let three days of training with Marshall and Rocky go to waste, so I'm gonna try and beat whoever gets in my way." Zuma said having more confidence inside him.

"That's the spirit!"

"Speaking of training, how have you been training with Chase?" Zuma asked curious.

"Well..." Skye said blushing. "I had a good time training with Chase, even though he's not very good at dance, he made me enjoy it."

Skye's blush made Zuma laugh that she knew about Skye's crush on Chase.
"I'm happy to hear that. Do you think Chase still has feelings for you? I mean, in the last few years I've noticed that the focus on you has dropped."
