«And live from New York, it's Saturday night!» Alec Baldwin, Alex Moffat, Beck and Kate all shouted together.

I was proud of that cold open, which I had helped writing. The intro started, and Kate came backstage to change her clothes and make-up.

«How was that?» she asked, letting her dimple appear once again.
«Great.»

I watched her get her Jeff Sessions make-up off, then watched her take off her costume.

«Liking what you see?»
«Uhm... I think that our seven-months relationship could serve as an answer to that.»

She had to run away for the next sketches, but I was still starstruck by her beauty.

I had told Lauren I didn't want to have sex anymore, but we could still be friends. She happily agreed and started looking for something more serious, while I tried to investigate Kate's weird attitude towards me. The last time she had been acting so distant and strange was at the new year's party where we had gotten together the first time, but I was sure that couldn't be the case: we were moving on, no matter how beautiful and meaningful our relationship had been.

«Hey Cec» I smiled at my friend.

Her bump wasn't showing yet, but she looked fuller and happier. She had just done her Melania Trump impression and crushed it, and was drinking some water during the brief break between her sketches.

She had met Jack's parents, who – though surprised about the pregnancy – showed support and love for the both of them and their growing family. She had accepted the fact that she was gonna become a mom, and seemed fully ready for the big step, despite some moments of initial despair.

«Hey. I saw you and Kate» she smirked. «Is the love coming back?»
«Ha! She doesn't wanna date me anymore.»
«You don't know about that. Ask her.»
«Is that the thing she needs to tell me about?»
«Might be.»

I had to quickly shake away the thought of us still possibly being a couple, since Heidi had come to be to ask for advice about one of the sketches I had written, but when there was a moment of calmness, my mind would drift towards me and Kate once again. Our love was the truest I had ever experienced, and I knew for sure that if she had asked me, I would have rekindled our relationship.

«Wait, are you sure that Kate would still be interested in us?» I asked Cecily once again, while she was getting dressed for her "Gemma" sketch.
«Yes- Sorry, gotta go!»

Said that, she ran back on stage.

«Shitting hell» I sighed.

I just had to wait for the end of the episode, so I sat backstage with the other writers, trying to keep my mind off of Kate. I wasn't doubting Cecily's words, but at the same time I didn't believe that Kate – who had broken up with me – was thinking about me that way. Plus, I knew she was going out with another woman, so the whole thing seemed impossible.

«Goodnight!» the host – Larry David – shouted at the cameras.

As the credits rolled, I snapped back to reality and realized how little I had followed the episode.

A few minutes later, the whole cast came backstage to get changed and head either home or to the afterparty, and I looked for Kate in the mess.

«Hey, have you seen Kate?» I asked Aidy, while she was grabbing her purse.
«I think she's in the public somewhere. She told me she's seen someone she knows.»

I went back out, and tried to find her blonde hair among everyone else's. Finally, after a few minutes, I saw her talking with another person, a beautiful brown-haired woman slightly taller than her.
