Time flew by, as we got back to work. The first weeks of May came soon, and Cecily was about to give birth to her kid. Aidy and Conner were finally married, and so were Kate and me. We hadn't told anyone we had gotten married, we were living it as a game, and keeping it secret made it only better. Calling each other "my wife" when no one could hear us and hiding our wedding rings were a thrill and a turn-on. After a while, Kate and I decided to move in together in my new apartment. We would wake up every day together, go to work hand in hand and fall asleep at night next to each other. I couldn't ask for anything better.

«Okay, so, are you actually gonna be able to work?» Kate jokingly asked Cecily, pointing at her belly.
«Yeah, my due date is at the end of the month. Plus, I'm not gonna have a hundred sketches to do, I'll be good.»

She caressed her baby, then got back to rehearsing her Melania Trump impression, as I was finishing up with the cold open. It was a political sketch with a lot of cameos, so I had to make sure that they were written correctly.

«I wanna grab a bite» Kate frowned, after only a few minutes.
«Baby, you've literally just eaten a sandwich.»
«I know, but I'm still hungry as shit. Do you want anything at all, babe?»
«No, I'm good.»

She got up and gave me a quick kiss on the lips before heading to the common kitchen we had at SNL, leaving me sat down in her office with Aidy and Cecily.

When we had come back from our trip to San Francisco, they seemed to be suspicious, but didn't ask us anything. Everyone at work had noticed our new affection towards each other – mostly because Kate couldn't keep her hands off of me – but even when the rumors spread almost nobody believed them. Kate wasn't the person to get married on the spot, mostly because she loved to take things slow, especially in her relationships.

«You two seem to be happy, finally» the first smiled, giving me little nudge.
«We really are» I nodded, trying to act casual.

Cecily obviously didn't buy it, but played it cool and tried to get up from the couch, failing at falling back down.

«Can someone help me up, please?» she sighed, making puppy eyes at us.

I got up and took her hand, then carefully lifted her.

«There you go.»
«Thank you. Can we just talk outside for a moment, please?»

I thought she was gonna mention my relationship with Kate, but instead smiled at me and pointed at her belly.

«Do you remember when I told you that you were gonna be an aunt?»
«Yes.»
«Well, I'm now asking you if you'll be my baby's godmother. I talked about it with Jack, and he's totally cool with it. He was almost as excited as I am.»
«Yeah, of course! It'll be my honor!»

I hugged her, as much as I could, given the enormous belly she had, anyway, and before she headed back into the office I tried to tell her about Kate and me.

«Uh, Cec, can I ask you a question?»
«Yes, of course. Is something wrong?»
«What if I... want to spend the rest of my life with Kate? Like... marry her?»
«I'd say that's great. Are you planning on proposing?»
«Actually, I am. Like... soon.»
«Wow, big step! I'm really happy for the both of you, especially now that things have finally cooled down and there isn't a lot of drama anymore.»

I hugged her again, happy to have her blessing despite not really needing it anymore.

«Thank you, for everything. You have been the kindest big sister to me.»
