The Wildfire

They were about to kiss but jumped a foot away from each other when Sapphire clapped loudly in front of them.  
When did she come home, when she got here nobody realized.

They scratched their head in embarrassment and chuckled nervously.

 Minzo forced a smile, " Aunt! When did you arrive?!" And muttered, " And how much did you hear?"

Sapphire smirked. Her eyebrows raised but she didn't show much of her teeth. Her smirk changed to a smile gradually confirming Minzo's suspicion. Her eyes sparkled and roamed from Tiano to Minzo. This is how she expresses her extreme happiness. Then she chuckled softly.

 Tiano noticed the way she laughed and expressed her happiness was similar to someone else's. But who? He doesn't remember. Just a flash of hazy trails of voice appeared in his mind and flew away like specks of dust in a gust of autumn breeze wind.

Tiano looked away. He is suddenly rebellious.
He suddenly shouted and pleaded, " MOM!" The rest didn't come out of his mouth. Something blocked it. His eyes teared up even thinking about it.

Sapphire was suddenly surprised but she realized it too. Both Tiano and Sapphire's eyes widened and sparkled as they filled with tears.

Minzo looked at Sapphire once. Tiano once. At Sapphire once again and giggled. Then she looked at Tiano again as the situation sank in her head. She started laughing loudly as she realized what was happening.

Tiano's eyes were still widened as he couldn't believe it was real. Tiano called out again, "MOM!"
Sapphire extended her arms silently inviting him to a hug. Tiano ran and hugged her tightly and cried like a kid. It turned to a weep soon as he let go of his pent-up emotions. Sapphire teared up too. Tiano hugged her tighter. Sapphire stretched an arm towards Minzo amidst the hug when she realized Minzo existed too who was watching them with teared-up happy eyes.

Minzo also joined the hug. The three hugged tightly.

The hug gradually loosened and the three still held each other looking into each other's eyes. Tiano had a lot to say but couldn't say a word. Sapphire knew exactly what Tiano was about to say. So, she revealed another truth to distract his thoughts.

She said, " Tiano, you and Minzo are destined, maybe. See the ring? I didn't know Tiano, that you wear the other ring of the couple ring set."
Sapphire smiled and nodded while saying.

Tiano and Minzo suddenly noticed that by looking at each other's and their own hands. They were mesmerized by how fate united them.

Tiano and Minzo held each other's hand for a while and kept on smiling till their eyes silently promised to be lost into each other's souls forever.

Tiano chuckled and Minzo giggled. Tiano said, "How did this happen?"
Minzo echoed his words, " Yeah...how?..."

They chuckled more as they looked into each other's eyes. Happy tears filled their eyes as they realized that they'd found their soulmates.
Minzo said, "Fate works in...weird ways...right?"
She chuckled softly and nervously. Her eyes glimmered with hope and fascination. She could see the reflection of her emotions in Tiano's eyes as well. She smiled more and Tiano mirrored her chuckle.

The day arrived for them. Wedding bells, White wedding outfits, matching rings, flowers, guests, and a new life waiting ahead for this newly married couple...

Their new beautiful life, untimely cuddles, back hugs, consoling hugs, soft and cute kisses, rain at night, holding hands, planning of a child, and EVERYTHING!

Their life was beautiful and amazing. They visited Sapphire for meals and stories once a week. The three used to have a beautiful time together. Both of them considered her as the ultimate mother figure. Minzo got the blood serum necklace from Sapphire one day. She used to work for the Vampires. There was this tall and handsome man sometimes seen in the working spots with Minzo.  It's not that Tiano was jealous or insecure but that man was rather oddly familiar-looking and suspicious. He looked like someone else Tiano knew. Someone he despised the most.

Tiano often warned Minzo many times not to be close to that man but she tried to communicate what bothered him but he couldn't answer. They argued sometimes for this. Upon asking Tiano always said one thing, "He might be innocent but he has the eyes and a face similar to 'those' eyes and 'that' face. The color of the eyes I despise the most. The face I despise the most. "

Minzo used to stare at him helplessly because she wanted to say a lot to him but couldn't. So, she just kept listening to all Tiano had to say. Although she never stopped working with that man. She was one of the 4 immortals after the Royals. She cannot stop working for the royals. And that man views him as his sister but Tiano slowly despised that man for his face because it resonated so much with the one he hated the most. Who knows, it might be his son. Tiano didn't want to know that but her safety was the only thing he was worried about the most.


Days pass. The tension grows.

One night, Tiano had a show at a marriage. Minzo felt something wrong in her gut. She forbade him to go but he insisted on going. 

Before leaving, he kissed her deeply. They rested their forehead together and closed their eyes to feel each other. Without Minzo's notice, a tear drop trickled down her cheek as if this was their last kiss. 

Tiano felt it and suddenly fluttered open his eyes shocked. 

"Hey?! Minzo?" He said softly but his voice lined with surprise.

Minzo quickly wiped her eyes and forced a smile.

"I'm fine love. Just something doesn't feel right about this. Can you not go today?"
Her eyes pleaded.

Tiano smiled softly and cupped her face. He looked into her pleading eyes softly as he caressed her cheeks softly.
He said softly, " Love...This show is a big one. I can't miss this one. Please! Try to understand? I GOTTA catch this one. Please let me go! Just a show right? If I catch this one, we can save up a lot for our baby growing within you, right? I might also get a breakthrough. Hmm?"

He tried to convince her but her eyes still pleaded. He kissed her forehead for a prolonged time and hugged her. He tried to calm her. He tried to assure her.

She forced a smile and accepted his request. He smiled and bade her goodbye.

The show was nice. It was a 10 min break. Soon, someone asked him to help in the control room and he went to help there. A thought crossed his mind, "Why me?". But he just went along.

He was talking to the man but saw the door was locked. He realized that there was not any trace of that man anywhere. Minzo's fears dawned upon him as well. He kicked and yelled at the door to open it but nobody heard him. Suddenly a fire broke out in the control room and he knew right away that it was a planned murder. He realized he'd be dead soon. The fire caught his clothes. He felt his whole body burning. He screamed and yelled for help but no one showed up. Suddenly, he heard Minzo behind the door screaming his name and trying to open or break the metal door using her vampire strength. The strength she lost temporarily due to carrying their child.
Her screams grew faint as she kept on pounding at the door. 

He grieved for his wife, he grieved for his family, and suddenly.....

All his erased memories came back. ERASED not lost....

The man whose eyes and face he despised the most. The man he warned Minzo about.....

He vividly saw the one who raised him after his sister was killed. He remembered the man saying, " I'll never give up on you, Tiano. I'll be there whenever you need me. I'll be there..."

I'll be there...Something the man said often...


He remembered the man's identity. He remembered that he loved him. The man was family...HIS FAMILY...


Tiano closed his eyes seeing a burst of fire but felt someone lifting him.
Tiano whispered, " I hate you because you never showed up."

A bloodied Minzo went to the spot and saw that someone grieving. Minzo walked closer in shock when he disappeared along with Tiano. Blood dripped from her hands as a result of pounding the gate so much. Her eyes were tired and distant. Stains of tears are present on her cheeks. But she knew this would happen one day.

The police reached the spot after some time.

"So?... he's dead, isn't he?...." It wasn't a question
She smiled in deep pain; EXACTLY like Alex does. All her beliefs about happiness were shattered. Her world shattered. Her EVERYTHING was gone...

Minzo slowly walked towards the edge of the building. She jumped off the building realizing this was the wildfire that burned her everything.


Both of them were buried together. Her and Tiano's blood along with their memories were preserved in a bottle by the power of the blood serum. Tiano's portion goes to Zuch (50%) and Zai( 50%).  Whereas Minzo's portion goes to Alex.


Zai only has what was previously erased from Tiano's memory and Zuch has the rest, especially Minzo's memories.

Maybe, that is why Alex is suicidal and that is why she smiles like that whenever she encounters something this hurtful yet true.

Judy wiped a tear from her eyes hugging Yulan tightly. Yulan caressed her hair softly to comfort her. Stories like this are hard for her to take in...
