"Once upon a time, there was a beautiful maiden with long hair and a beautiful personality. She was kind and brave. One day, she brushed her hair by sitting on the window and swinging her feet. Suddenly, she saw a monster running towards her. She wished for her prince, but no prince saved her. She was left alone to die. But, instead of dying, she turned into a blood-sucking monster, just like the one who bit her. She still had her heart with her. She still was kind to others. Now kids, What will you do when you meet her? Will you save her, or kill her?"

The nurse told the kids a story she knew.
Everyone decided to save her but one kid answered hesitating, "I will kill her."

The smile on the nurse's face faded.
"Why?"
The kid was shaking in fear. "She is a monster. My mom told me, she is a monster."

The nurse smirked.
"Good to know. The heavens also killed her. ANYWAYS, kids, go to sleep now!"

The nurse left.
The kid's scared demeanor changed to calm and composed as he whispered to himself before closing his eyes,
"No...You're lying."
He smirked.

....................

After opening her eyes, Alex saw the man from before.
He had the same grey eyes as Zuch.

The man is resting his back and sitting on a chair with a happy gleam on his face.

The surroundings seemed dark and there were no walls as far as her vision stretched.
Just a dark place contaminated with the dense smell of fresh blood.

Alex squinted her eyes.
Her face turned stoic the moment she recognized him.

Alex queries him without any fear or feelings, at least in her eyes, but her voice betrays her, giving away a hint of tremble. "Y-You?"

He smirked sadly, leaning forward from the chair and tilted his head to the right, saying, "Hmm...Zuch was talking about you by the way."

He further asked with a nod, "Very well. But...do you REALLY know him?"

His voice had that fatherly affection betraying as if the surroundings weren't even real.
He suddenly smiled warmly.
Alex got a bit shocked seeing the warm fatherly smile as well.
But his warmth just made it all crueler.

Her head was spinning.
She felt like she couldn't keep her eyes open for much longer.
She hallucinated blood flowing somewhere to her on the floor.
No...
It was real blood.
She doesn't know whose blood.

She smiled.
She was never calmer.

She smirks, "Did THIS make you sad?"

His eyes get filled with tears.
He blinked and looked to his right.
He swallowed and licked his lips to fight his tears.
The tears rolled down finally and he wiped them slowly.

He replied without looking at her, "My children are dead."
Alex didn't look at him because she was not all surprised.
She kept on looking at a distance aimlessly.

He continues, "One got burned, and...the other jumped to kill herself."

Hearing this, Alex burst out laughing.
She laughed like a maniac till she got tears in her eyes.

Then her laughter died with a sudden yet serious, Hateful, and betrayed look in her eyes, which changed her expression within a second, sucking out all the redness from the laughter.

She finally replied calmly with the same spiteful gleam on her face, "The one who jumped was someone else's child though."

He blinked a few times to fight back his tears but his expression remained stoic.
He shifted in his seat and looked up.
Not once did he slouch till now.

He looked back at Alex with the same lightless eyes.
He calmly expressed,  "All of my affectionate people ended up leaving me. I'm alone in this life."

Alex's face became angrier and also, tears rolled down her eyes.
She questioned, "You mean...Your 'family'?"

Now, both of them smiled at each other.
Gaven shifted in his seat again and sat straight.

Alex's smile turned firmer and fiercer each second as her eyes glared at Gaven's demeanor.

She knew this was not her.
She wasn't being herself.
She felt as if she was possessed.
She feels a firm hatred for someone she doesn't even know.

SUDDENLY!

 Gunshots!
Dusts flying everywhere!

Everyone ducked.

But Gaven stayed firm on his place.
Elegantly.
As if NOTHING has happened.
He crossed his legs calmly.

A bloodied Zuch broke in firing gunshots.
His hands were bleeding due to the recoil.

As if the time has stopped in Alex's world.
As if everything slowed down the moment Zuch entered.
He walked into the room holding a gun in his hand, pointing at the man.
His hands were shaking from all the adrenaline rushing through the popped-up veins of his hands.
His eyes were wide and fierce which tried to hide his inner fear.

BOOM!
Glass shattered.
He shot a glass window nearby.
Gaven just calmly looked at the breaking of the window, with a soft smile still present on his face, as if he were watching the sudden appearance of a squirrel in a park.

BOOM!
Zuch is running towards Alex.

Alex's eyes widened.
Along with it, beams of hope emitted from her eyes.

She whimpered, "ZU-ZUCH!"

He quickly ran to her and covered her with his body standing straight in front of her, covering the view of her to the man.

 The man could've killed him.
But he was rather calm and smirking.
The man leaned on his chair staring directly into Zuch's eyes.

He asked Zuch with loving eyes, "Are you well...Son?...Dad missed you."

Zuch froze.
The man stared into his eyes with that warm loving smile that felt eerily cold at the very moment.

Zuch couldn't even a single muscle.
His eyes widened from being brave.
He felt paralyzed.
Fear took over his eyes.
He knew what this meant.

...............................

Both Alex and Zuch came to senses in Alex's workplace, The Ottawa Olive Hospital.
The nurse was observing them.

They can't remember what had happened after they both froze when he stared directly into their eyes.

It was she who told the kids the monster girl's story.
