When Y/n arrived, some locals helped her get her stuff out of the moving truck, thanking them by the end of it. They also delivered her car and took the moving truck back to the renter. The locals of course were friendly, making the experience all the better for her as a newcomer. Y/n didn't wait and got to work as fast as possible to organize the home she moved into.

After about three hours of doing everything in the house, she decided to take a stroll down the street to hopefully run into the neighbors. She smiled when she was greeted by a blonde woman who quickly greeted her.

"Oh! You must be the new neighbor, I'm Julie!" Julie smiled happily, outstretching her hand to shake Y/n's. Y/n shook her hand and when she pulled away, Y/n couldn't help but feel some slight anxiety with her first meet. Not knowing whether or not she made a good first impression. "Sorry about the clothes, not as colorful as the rest of everyone here." Y/n said, "Oh don't you worry, we accept everyone here, no matter race, sexuality, or by clothes." Julie said casually, her hands neatly in front of her.

Y/n looked at Julie in surprise, "Really?" She asked her, Julie nodded. "Of course! Have you met my best friend Frank yet, he's so gay." Julie smiled, flipping her hand up to down in the cool 'slay' hand gesture, making Y/n giggle a little. "But yeah, by the way, if you're looking for somewhere comfy, you should check out the cafe a few blocks away." Julie said.

"Thanks, I'm looking for some places to eat since I've hadn't eaten since this morning so thank you," Y/n said, "No problem deary, have a good day!" Julie yelled as she waved Y/n goodbye.

'Up to the cafe.' Y/n thought, not wasting any time as she had been craving some coffee recently. When she entered, she was welcomed immediately by a younger lady, her tag had the name 'Mara' on her breast pocket.

Y/n was a bit taken aback by her enthusiasm as it was very loud and apparent she didn't pay attention to her vocal range. Her voice traveled through the cafe which got the attention of the others. Mara seemed to quickly notice the attention and covered her mouth in embarrassment. "Sorry about that everyone." She quietly apologized.

Y/n walked up and smiled politely, she began to order her coffee. The door behind her opened and received a 'ring' in doing so. Mara looked back behind Y/n and smiled widely. "Welcome back!" She said, a little calmer than before. "Ah, afternoon Ms. Gordon." A gentleman addressed her. Y/n looked back and saw a 5'9 average-height gentleman with blue Elvis Presley hair, tan skin, and a colorful suit that feature blue, red, white, and yellow.

"Hello, you must be the new resident who just moved in today. I'm Wally, you dear?" Wally said, addressing her very formally to the point it flattered her. "Y/n." She stated, blushing softly, wally gently lifted her hand to his lips and gave a small peck on it. "Welcome, dear neighbor." He smiled, making Y/n lose her shit internally. He let go of her hand.

"T-thank you." She stuttered, "No problem dear." Wally replied.

Mara soon came back and gave Y/n her drink. "This one on the house." She stated, making Y/n smile at the flattery. "You sure?" "Oh yes, she always does this to newcomers, it gives them a feel of the town a little bit," Wally replied happily, making Y/n feel some type of way. Y/n took her drink and sipped away silently

"Something the matter?" Wally asked curiously, Y/n didn't realize it but she was silent for a moment which caught his attention. "Oh Yes! Sorry." Y/n apologized. "It's okay, Mara, you know my typical." Wally said. "Of course, A medium caramel macchiato with whipped cream and chocolate straws to the side," Mara replied. "Your total per usual is $6.65."

Wally smiled and paid for his order as Y/n gazed at him for a moment before walking and sitting down. Of course, Wally followed her back to her seat after he received his order. Sitting across from her as she was distracted by her phone. Wally grabbed a book from his bag and began to read silently.

Y/n did eventually notice him sitting across from her which made her blush slightly, obviously not knowing what else to think. "What brings you to Lovejoy?" Wally asked, "To start a new healthy life without my parents." Y/n stated. "Is that all?" Wally asked as he continued to read his book while speaking to her. "No, I also came here because I was hired at a well-paying job nearby," Y/n added honestly, Wally perk up a bit, his eyes meeting hers.

"What job is it?" Wally asked, "I'm an assistant, I don't know to who as of yet. I'll find out soon." Y/n replied. "Interesting, are you excited?" "I'm not sure, I'm mostly nervous." She replied. "I'm sure everything will work out fine." Wally tried to comfort her, Y/n smiled nervously. "Thanks, I hope so."

"I hope so in your case as well." Wally smiled.

After a while, Y/n began to leave and smiled at Wally. "Pleasure meeting you but it's getting late and I'm going to head back to my place," Y/n said to Wally, grabbing her phone and wallet. As soon as Y/n left, Mara walked up to Wally. "I hope she'll like it here." She said nervously, "Oh she will, just give her some time."
