After our fight that morning Sherlock and I were traveling in the carriage to the Holmes Estate that Emilia still lived in along with Enola. The carriage ride was silent, even though we had the makeup sex and we talked things were still tense, things were still hard.

"Can we please go in there and be happy?" Sherlock asked as we rode down the road to the estate. I looked at him and plastered on a smile, albeit fake and he groaned.

"Portia please..." Sherlock groaned and rubbed his forehead.

"Fine." I said and took a deep breath and then looked at him again and had a real smile on my face. Sherlock leaned in and gave me a small kiss. Once we broke apart I went to looking back out the window. I knew this visit like all the others would be hard especially with what Sherlock revealed this morning.

Once we stopped Sherlock got out and then helped me out. I linked my arm in his as we walked to the door and Abagail opened it up.

"Mister and Misses Sherlock Holmes have arrived." Abagail said and I smiled.

"Abagail." I said and hugged her as we walked in and she smiled.

"Miss Emilia is in the sitting room awaiting your arrival." Abagail said.

"And Enola?" Sherlock asked.

Enola had finished schooling much to my dismay of her going back, as well as hers once I was shot. She went and finished and she was now back home, even working with Sherlock.

"Miss Enola is out with Mister Tewkesbury."

"Alone?!" Sherlock asked and I groaned.

"We courted alone..." I said.

"We were also older." Sherlock said and I groaned.

"Didn't stop me from being a harlot..." I trailed off. I heard Sherlock groan as I walked into the sitting room.

"There is your Aunt Portia..." Emilia said with a smile as I walked in and she was holding her son, Mycroft Junior, MJ for short. We all tried talking her out of it but her husband died and nothing would change her mind. I walked over to her and quickly took him from her arms and smiled down at him.

"Hey sweet boy." I cooed at him as I sat down. Sherlock came in and kissed Emilia on the cheek.

"How are you feeling?" Sherlock asked Emilia and she smiled.

"Really good." Emilia said. The baby was only born 4 months ago and Emilia had a few rough first nights causing me and Sherlock to stay at the estate.

Sherlock looked over at me sweetly whispering to the baby and smiling.

"She's a natural." Emilia said to Sherlock and I just gave a small smile.

"She is." Sherlock said.

"When will it be you two? I mean MJ needs a playmate." Emilia said and I sighed.

"We're not having children." I spoke up before Sherlock could and Emilia gasped.

"What?! Not having children?!" Emilia asked in shock.

"No, Sherlock doesn't want children." I said. He growled when Emilia looked at him.

"You don't want children?! Portia has wanted to be a mother since...well...forever. Now she can't have that?" Emilia asked and Sherlock looked at me annoyed.

"I never said I didn't want children. What I did say was that I don't want kids right now." Sherlock said and I sighed.

"Right until we catch Moriarty which can take forever." I mumbled as tears filled my eyes.

"Portia..." Sherlock said and I stood up with MJ.

"He needs changed." I said and walked away to the nursery. Once I got to the nursery I knew he didn't need changed I just needed away from Sherlock and the conversation. I looked at the baby I was holding and sighed. I would never get to experience this, I knew Sherlock would put Irene ahead of us having a life.

I heard a soft knock on the open door. I wiped my tears that had fallen away and then turned to see Sherlock standing there.

"You changed him that fast." Sherlock said and I just ignored him. He came over to me and stood in front of me and looked down at MJ.

"Thank god he looks like Emilia." Sherlock said breaking the tension and I gave a small smile. "You look good holding a baby Portia." Sherlock said and I just sighed and felt some tears fall. Sherlock brought a hand up and wiped them away.

"I didn't say never Portia." Sherlock said.

"No just catch Irene first...that can take the rest of our lives together Sherlock. I want to be a mom. Not now per say but soon. I thought you knew that." I said and he sighed.

"We never discussed children, now I wish we would have." Sherlock said.

"If Irene wasn't in the picture, if it was just me and you, would we have a baby?" I asked. Sherlock looked down at MJ and sighed.

"I can't say yes or no Portia, my job is very sketchy sometimes." Sherlock said and groaned. I passed MJ off to Sherlock and walked out of the nursery and the house all together. I knew the carriage was not ready so I just started walking down the road. As I was walking a carriage was coming up the path and it stopped, Enola stuck her head out and saw me.

"Portia, you okay?" Enola asked and I sighed.

"I just can't deal with your brother right now Enola, I'm going home." I said and she sighed.

"He will clearly find you there..." Enola said and got out of the carriage. "Come with me." She said as the carriage continued on to the house. Enola took my hand and we went walking out onto the estate to a huge tree.

"Climb." She said and I looked at her like she was crazy.

"Trust me, this is my thinking tree. That branch there is great for sitting and thinking. Go before Sherlock figures out where you are." Enola said and I smiled, kissed her cheek and climbed up the tree. I sat on the branch Enola told me to sit on, I was leaning against the trunk of the tree looking at my wedding ring on my finger contemplating where my life was going.

As I was sitting there I heard someone walk up and sit at the base of the tree.

"Do you intend to stay up there?" Sherlock asked as I looked to see him sitting there.

"I was hoping for some privacy." I said in a harsh tone.

"Can you come down so we can talk like an actual married couple?" Sherlock asked and I groaned.

"I don't think so." I said and he just sighed shaking his head.

"Portia...please." Sherlock said and I looked down and he was looking up at me.

"Help me down?" I asked and he laughed.

"Of course." Sherlock said. I started to climb down and got to the last branch. Sherlock placed his hands on my hips and helped me out of the tree. He didn't remove his hands as my hands rested on his shoulders.

"Sit with me?" Sherlock asked and I nodded. He sat down where he was and then he guided me to sit between his legs. I leaned back on his chest and he wrapped his arms around me.

"I want to tell you something and I just need you to bear with me when I say it." Sherlock said and I sighed.

"I'm not going to like it am I?" I asked.

"No, most likely not." Sherlock said.

"Out with it then." I said.

"You're being emotional. It's understandable, but unnecessary." Sherlock said and I went to get up but he stopped me. "I don't mean it how it sounds. I just mean you are letting your emotions get the better of you and if you keep that up, that's all you'll have is emotions. We have to keep our wits about us Misses Holmes. Keep our heads on straight, the straighter they are, the faster we can get on with our life together." Sherlock said and I turned my head to look up at him.

"Whatever you say Mister Holmes." I said giving him the best fake real looking smile I could muster up. He leaned down giving me a small kiss.
