"Hey, Xy, have you heard from Evie?" Ryleigh asked as she walked into the dressing room where Xylia and Barkley were at. Slowly the man turned to the girl with a smirk as she looked ahead into the mirror. "I'm not falling for that this time, Ark, and your belly is getting round, Xylia. I don't understand how Shanice is bigger than you, and she's only two months?" She spoke, making Barkley laugh.
"Mi don't see it. My Empress is bigger... Shy wears clothes that show off her belly, and Xy likes to hide hers. Something Mi don't understand." He spoke, kissing her temple before turning to Ryleigh, hugging her, and kissing her forehead.
"No, I haven't spoken to Eva. She something wrong?"
"No... well, I don't know. It's been two weeks, and she hasn't called. We always call one another, and I asked her professor if she could have her phone while doing her missionary, and he confirmed that she could. I haven't talked to her since she left...."
"What about her professor? And why are yuh just telling us this?" Barkley asked, pulling out his phone. Xylia sighed as she quickly texted their father, looking over to see what her husband was doing.
"Why are you calling him?" She asked as Barkley held up a finger waiting for his brother to answer the phone. It took about four rings, but Rajesh finally answered, a bit out of breath and annoyed.
'Little bredda, you better have a good reason to be calling me at this time.'
'Where is Eva?'
'How the hell am I supposed to know this? The girl checked in with me yesterday, maybe the day before, to let me know she was okay. She seemed a little off... stop that. Yeah, ignore that my new sub sometimes likes to get the best of me. As I was saying, she seemed a little off like something was bothering her, but she told me if her dad called or one of you to tell them that she was okay....'
'That doesn't sound like my sister, and she was supposed to come home yesterday for Xavier and my birthday party tomorrow. No matter what we are doing, we never miss each other's birthdays. I'm calling the pilot and coming to Tobago....'
'Xylia, there is no need for that. I will find your sister and ensure she lands with me tomorrow. Doing missionary can take a lot out of you, especially when you are not used to living the way these children do in the orphanage. I donate to them, but who knows where the money is going. I will check in at the place she is staying in the morning. I promise your sister will be with me when I step off that plane tomorrow evening. Alright?'
'If she doesn't, I'm beating your ass, Rajesh. I know something is going on. Tell Eva I'm on to her when you see her.'
'And I second that. Brother-in-law or not, my sister better be okay.'
'Noted; now, if you don't mind, I want to return to what I was doing. Satisfying this beautiful Goddess that's lying underneath me.' Raj spoke before hanging up. Their little conversation with him eased Xylia's mind, but she could tell something still didn't sit right with Ryleigh.
"Is her trackers on?"
"They are... all but the one implanted in her neck. I made a mistake coming to you. Eva is going to kill, but I know where she is at. Thanks anyway." She smiled and looked at her and Barkley. They knew Eva normally would do that when sneaking out to do something she didn't need to do. It was how their dad found out about his little adventures with married men. She was sleeping with them and then blackmailing to support their family, or she would ruin them. It was a game to her, but Eva to young to be doing anything like that.
"Eva is fine," Xavier spoke, walking in and showing Xylia his clothes after being fitted. The man was mad because she wanted to match with her twin along with their spouses but like their father and Opa. Xavier hated suits; tomorrow, he was forced to wear one before the wedding and gala.
