"Getting baby fever?" Xylia asked her sister as she walked into her father's home to Ryleigh, rocking their little sister to sleep. If stares could kill, Xy would have been on the floor bleeding from the head, but she gave her a good laugh. "I'm just playing Ry. I know you don't want a baby right now, and I can blame you. Wait as long as you can because being my age with four isn't fun... is dad home?"
"Sometimes, I ask myself if I'm good enough to have a baby. I love Pedro, but I don't know if he wants that life with me." She sighed, making Xylia place a kiss on her forehead. She didn't need to worry about it because Pedro loved her, and he had asked their father for her hand in marriage. Truly Xy couldn't be happier for her little sister. "Dad's out with Opa and the other old heads. Something about handling one of their minions... why?"
"Nothing big. I wanted to see how he was doing. I know it's been three almost four months since Dad killed Amoy. What gets me, he acts as if it doesn't bother him when I know it does. He gave his heart to that woman. She ripped it from his chest and stomped on it."
Obviously, her sister didn't believe the same thing because she shook her head as she lifted Lizzie to her shoulder to blurb. Maybe it was Xylia who thought her dad should have been showing a bit more emotions. Or maybe because the shit hurt her and her husband, who looked at Amoy as a sister. She had orders to kill him, and they still didn't know who gave them.
"Somewhere in the back of Dad's mind, he knew— he knew what he and Amoy had wasn't real. He wanted to make Ma hurt the way he was hurting. A love like theirs never disappears, and as Xavier said, they were always somewhere hiding and talking. I think they were fucking because every time Ma saw Dad, her face lit up like it used to do when we were small. They needed a break but went about it the wrong way."
"You wanted them back together."
"Don't you? We may be adults Xy, but like little kids, we want to see our parents together, making each other happy. I want them to have what Oma and Opa have— what Grandma Paris and Grandpa Rodney have. That's what I want in my relationship. I aimed to have a love that is so damn strong nothing can come between it, and if it does, we will always find ourselves back to one another. Don't you want that with Barkley?"
Xylia slowly nodded. They have always wanted what their parents and grandparents had. Barkley showed her she had that, but her mom hurt her dad. Not once, but twice. However, it wasn't her decision to make. Her father had to be the one to make it, and they had to stand behind them no matter what. At that moment, her relationship with her mom was strong, and Xylia didn't want to break it, and she would support whatever they decided.

"Sooo... you and Riley?" Elijah spoke, sitting next to Xerxes as he raised a brow. Everyone was in his fucking busy asking questions about what he and Riley were doing since Amoy was out of the picture. The problem was he hadn't thought that far ahead. X always knew he and Ri would somehow find themselves back to one another, but he was ready to take that step.
