Atonement

"What the hell are we gonna do now?" Webs exclaims, with worry laced in her voice.

"We have to do something, right? I mean... there's no way I'm letting Wolf die." Shark says sadly.

"Damn straight man. That's completely off the table. I say we go back in there and teach them a lesson!" Piranha says, clearly excited to bust out some moves.

"Wait, hang on guys. We can't handle them... at the park there was 5 of us and we still lost horribly... and now, Snake is missing and Wolf is tied up. What makes you think the 3 of us can handle it?" Webs asks in desperation and annoyance.

"Damn... you got a point chica..." Piranha pouts.

Shark sighs. "Well... then what should we do? I mean, doing nothing surely can't be an option, right?"

"Of course not! But we have to be smart about this." Webs says.

"Go any ideas then?" Piranha asks.

"Not yet, sadly." Webs says in a defeated tone.

Just then, as if on cue, a bunch of police cars
arrive on the scene.

"What the thorax?" Webs exclaims in shock.

"What did you do?" Shark asks turning to Piranha.

"I didn't do anything, I swear!" Piranha defends.

Just then, the chief of police, Misty Luggins, steps out of her vehicle and approaches the three.

"Uh, hello Chief. Are... we in trouble?" Shark asks nervously.

Misty just laughs a bit and shakes her head. "Oh no, your snake friend called the police department and explained the situation to us in great detail. We were admittedly sceptical at first, but we realized we can't be biased when it comes to protecting people... even if it's that mutt..." she says that last bit with some hate.

"Hey, come on chief! Are you still holding a grudge against us?" Webs asks.

"Well, yeah! Can you really blame me? You five have been getting on my nerves for several years now!" Misty replies with some anger.

"Yeah, but we atoned didn't we?" Piranha asks.

"Yes, you did. But my feelings are just going to go away overnight." She says while folding her arms.

"Okay, can we maybe continue talking about this later? Wolf is in some serious danger right now and he needs us! Assuming you even care..." Shark says, glaring at the chief.

In response, the chief rolls her eyes. "Of course I care. I may not like him, but he's still a citizen of the city, and I have a job to do."

"Alright. We should head in then." Webs says.

Meanwhile, inside the warehouse, Kim and Keanu are laughing at the pitiful display Wolf is currently in. They've beaten him up quite a bit. And that's just the beginning of what they have planned for him.

"Guys... please let me go... I'll do anything..." Wolf begs.

Kim chuckles. "There's absolutely nothing you could ever possibly do that will change my mind."

Keanu nods in agreement. "You have to try and understand this from her perspective, Wolf! You killed her brother!"

Wolf sighs. "I know I did... and I feel terrible about it... if I could bring him back I would..."

"Well, that doesn't really matter does it? Because you can't bring him back. So that's completely pointless to bother bringing up." Kim scoffs.

Wolf gulps. "So what, then? Are you gonna slowly beat me to death?"

Keanu laughs. "Well, yes! I mean, that is sort of the plan."

Kim and Keanu slowly get closer and closer to Wolf, and they are about to start beating him up some more, when all of a sudden, a bunch of police officers including Misty Luggins burst into the warehouse, with Webs, Shark, and Piranha.

"What the..." Kim begins, but is interrupted by Misty.

"Get down on the ground! Now! Both of you!" She has her gun out and points it towards Kim and Keanu, who both reluctantly go down on the ground.

Misty walks over to the two and then announces to the other officers. "Alright boys, take 'em away!"

"Yes ma'am!" One of the officers replies as he and a bunch of others escort the two out of the warehouse, leaving just Misty and 4 former members of the bad guys alone in the warehouse.

"Chief? What's going on? How did you even know about this?" Wolf asks.

"Your snake buddy told us all about it." She replies, while untying Wolf from his restraints.

"Well, uh... thanks. Heh." Wolf says.

Misty rolls her eyes with a slight smirk. "Just doing my job."

"So what about all those horrible things Wolfie did? What happens now?" Webs asks worried.

"Oh shit, that's right!" Piranha exclaims.

"Wolf..." Shark says sadly, worried that he's going to prison for a very long time.

Wolf gulps, then he chuckles nervously with a sheepish smile. "Chief, I can explain..."

Misty just chuckles at that. "Don't worry about it, Snake already cleared everything up."

Wolf is taken aback. "He... he did?"

"Yep! He told us all about the lupine curse of hatred and how you weren't in control of your actions... and we googled it and it turns out he was right... it's a real thing, and you matched the symptoms perfectly... we can't really punish you for something that isn't your fault, no matter how horrible it is."

Webs, Shark, and Piranha all let out a collective sigh of relief.

Wolf sighs. "But I've still killed so many people... and I... feel so bad about that... if you can believe it."

Surprisingly, Misty smiles. "You know what? I believe you, Wolf. You and your former gang of misfits may have been trouble making thieves... but you guys were never known to cause physical violence, let alone murder. I've always secretly respected you guys for that..." She reluctantly admits.

Wolf chuckles and nudges her playfully. "I knew even you wouldn't be able to resist my charms eventually. And now that day is finally here."

Misty rolls her eyes. "Alright, I'll give you that one, Wolf. You're not a bad looking guy... for a criminal."

Wolf chuckles. "I'll take it."

Sorry if this felt rushed or if the ending was weird but I just really wanted to get this fanfiction finished since I have so much other things going on in my life. Lol.
