Chapter 15 - A Day With Her

The next day, Saturday, they had their very first intensive training. The first partners who fought are Luca and Ruby versus Sid and Bryce. Naging mabilis ang laban nila't agad nanalo sila Sid at Bryce. Halatang masyadong ginalingan ni Sid dahil nandoon si Silvermist at pinapanood sila.

Then there comes Terrence and Freya versus Yael and Liliana.

Naglalakad palang silang apat papunta sa magkabilang side ng training ground ay damang-dama na ang tensyon na namamagitan sakanila. Terrence attacked Yael first, while Freya focused on Liliana, but Yael and Liliana decided to attack and focused on both of them.

Nagtagal ang laban nila at sa huli ay nanalo sina Yael at Liliana.

"That's what you call teamwork," Silvermist praised both of them. "All of you did great. The main reason why I grouped you into two is that I want you to know the importance of teamwork since you will need to work together to defeat the enemy once your official mission started, but some of you still lack of it."

Yael couldn't agree more. Sa oras na mapupunta sila sa gitna ng laban, they will have no choice but to help and rely on each other whether they like it or not. If they can't improve their teamwork before the mission, malaki ang posibilidad na lahat sila ay mamamatay.

The Hales are stronger with the fifth element but without it, they are nothing.

"Now, it's time to switch your partners."

Yael sighed and stole a glance at Liliana when Silvermist announced the new pairs for the training next week. Ruby became his next partner, then Liliana and Luca, Terrence and Sid, and Bryce and Freya.

Yael walked with Liliana heading somewhere after Silvermist dismissed them. "May plano ka ba mamayang hapon?"

She shook his head as an answer. "Why?"

Ngumiti siya rito. "Pupunta akong downtown para bumili ng halaman. Wanna come?"

Her eyes widened in excitement, nodding her head. "May cactus parin ba doon?"

I knew it. She loves cactus so much.

"Oo naman. So... will you come with me later?"

She smiled. "I will."

Afternoon came and before they went to downtown, nagpaalam muna si Yael kay Hera na kasama niyang pupunta doon si Liliana. Liliana immediately walked towards the cactus area in front of the shop the moment they arrived.

"I'll just buy one and add it to my collection," He heard her mumbled to herself.

Yael smiled and watched her deciding which one to buy. The fact that she is a Salvatore and can buy all the cactus whenever she wants but chose to only buy one amazes him. She knows how to value and spend money with practicality.

He knew that she loves collecting cactus. It was his second week of being a Prime Preserver back when he accidentally passed by her garden full of small cactus and lily flowers with different kinds of colors. Nalaman nalang niya nang matagpuan siya ng kasama niya at sinabing sa anak ng Headmistress ang hardin na 'yon.

"Isa lang?"

"Yeah, I only buy 'em one at a time whenever I get the chance to go here. There's no thrill if you buy two or three," She said and looked around again.

She seems like she's enjoying herself kaya hinayaan na muna siya ni Yael. He went to the counter and asked the owner if they have a certain plant or herb that Ruby's trying hard to find. Nagpatulong ito sakaniya noong minsan sa greenhouse ngunit wala silang mahanap kaya naisipan nalang niya na bilhan ito.
