Chapter 22 - Yael's Life

Ruby took a breath as she watches the sun rising from the east before entering the greenhouse. The air is cold and she had to turn on the lights inside since it is still kind of dark. She was the first one who woke up and it's just 4:30 in the morning.

She walked towards the area where she planted the seed last time and it is fully bloomed now, thanks to her ability to grow a plant quickly. Echinacea is the name of the plant Yael gave to her. It's the last ingredient to finish the medicine made by her, which is also her final assignment to her training as a healer before the official mission begins.

Echinacea is from a group of herbaceous flowering plants in the daisy family and the reason why it is hard to find it in Highbourne is that people are neglecting its benefits and lack of research. Little do they know that it is good for boosting the immune system of a person, respiratory infections, and reducing inflammation.

Ruby rushed and went to the Healers Den near the greenhouse to finish her experiment. She woke up early for this because she has a feeling that she can test and use it for this mission – a cure for the virus going around the Water Village.

She turned the medicine into a liquid and put it inside a small glass of jar.

It was 6 o'clock and the star members, including Silvermist, are on the way to the Water Village. Since the village is near the Star Camp, they just decided to ride horses to get there.

Tama nga ang sinabi ng dalawang prime preserver, na hindi madaling makapasok sa loob dahil sa lockdown. Kung hindi lang pumunta ang Water Keeper para sunduin sila ay hindi sila makakapasok.

The Water Keeper, Amphitrite, welcomed and thanked them for coming even if it's quite dangerous for them to be there. She took the star members to her manor near the sea and discussed the virus and what they're experiencing now.

She looks pale and weak so she distanced herself to them while talking. "The spread of the virus started days ago and that is when I also started to notice I couldn't summon the spirit of the water to ask for help, nor control the water crystal to heal my people to prevent the spread of it. Parang unti-unting lumalayo ang loob nito at doon na din unti-unting sumasama ang pakiramdam ko."

"My body and spirit are connected to the water inside and outside the village – the whole Highbourne, so I know if there is something wrong with it," She added. "There's something wrong with the water here but I can't fix it since I can't also figure out what the problem is."

Ruby looked out the window to see the blue sea, thinking that if they can't stop this many people will get affected and die.

"You can leave this to us. We will figure out how the virus started and we will come back to tell you," Terrence stated.

After they discuss the matter and plan, Yael insisted to go to his family's house first before starting the mission. Even if they all know about his little sister's condition, they still want to go along with him, especially Ruby.

Habang papunta sila sa bahay ni Yael ay wala silang nakita ni isang tao sa daan at nang makarating sila ay lahat ng kapatid niya ay nasa loob ng bahay.

Yael knocked on the old wooden door. A lady who looks three years older than them opened the door and she was surprised to see his brother standing in front of their house.

"Yael..." She mumbled and they hugged each other.

Nang dahil sa sinabi ng ate niya ay sumilip ang iba nilang kapatid at gulat din nang makita si Yael.

"Ikaw ba 'yan, k-kuya?" Tanong ng pangatlo kasama ang pang-apat nilang kapatid.

Yael kneeled down and opened his arms with teary eyed as the twins ran to hug him. Lahat sila ay masayang makita si Yael dahil matagal na nila itong hindi nakikita at nakakasama.
