Chapter 17 - The Plan

"You're such an early bird, Yael."

He did his last morning stretch and glanced at Silvermist who entered the kitchen. "Sigurado ka na ba na hindi ka sasama?"

Silvermist shook her head, stirring her black coffee. "This mission is for star members only. I'm your trainer and I just came here to guide and monitor all of you. Plus wala pa akong maayos na tulog."

"Baka hindi sumama si Sid sa amin kapag nalaman niya." Tawa ni Yael at nagsimula ng magtimpla ng kape.

Napahinto sa ginagawa si Silvermist nang marinig ang pangalan na binanggit nito. Nahalata naman siya agad ni Yael at binigyan siya ng malokong ngiti. "Bago 'yan ah. May nangyari ba?"

Tinignan niya ng masama si Yael at magsasalita na sana nang sunod na pumasok si Sid at masigla silang binati. Agad itong tumabi kay Silvermist at kumuha na rin ng makakain.

"Let's go to my family's house after the mission and before we go back to star camp. Papakilala ko kayo." Sid gave her a sweet look while eating some bread.

Sumandal si yael sa kabilang side ng counter at tinignan silang dalawa. "Mukha kayong bagong kasal."

Masyadong nagustuhan ni Sid ang sinabi nito kaya hindi niya maitago ang tuwa. Tumayo si Silvermist at tumungo sa pintuan ng kusina, saktong papasok si Liliana.

"I'll just wake up Bryce."

Tumayo din si Sid at sinundan ito sa paglalakad. "Let's wake up our son."

Liliana stopped and looked at Sid, disgusted. "Bryce will kill you if he heard that."

Natawa si Yael sakanila at inaya si Liliana na kumain. He has to take care of Liliana and protect her just like what the Headmistress told him, and even if Hera won't remind him, he'll still protect Liliana at all costs.

The time came and after they borrowed well-trained horses from Hermes, they went to the forest where the rebels are hiding. Buti nalang ay sumama si Sid pagkatapos niyang malaman na hindi pweding sumama si Silvermist sakanila. After all, he still knows his responsibility and duty as a star member.

Nakarating sila sa gubat at natapos na ang isang oras ay wala parin silang nakikita ni isang bakas kung saang banda matatagpuan ang mga kalaban.

Ruby stopped and dismounted from her horse. "Why do I feel like nililigaw tayo ng gubat?"

The members also stopped and looked around, feeling like they've been in the same spot.

"Kaya pala bigla akong nahilo kanina." Sambit ni Bryce at bumaba din.

"They used a spell," Ruby added.

"Then, what do you want us to do?" Terrence asked her because she's the only one in the team who knows how to cast out a spell or how to simply avoid it.

Ruby picked up a leaf on the ground and faced Liliana. "Can you burn this for me?"

Liliana took some energy from the sun then seconds after, there's already a fire on her hand – controlling it. Ruby nodded at her and threw the leaf in the air. Liliana pointed the fire to it and burned it instantly.

Sumakay muli si Ruby sa kaniyang kabayo. "Sigurado ako na hindi na tayo maliligaw pagkatapos nito."

"Let's go." Terrence leads them and was about to continue searching when Freya screamed.

"Wait!"

Because of Freya, Liliana thought the rebels showed up and already attacking them but the reason why she screamed was she fell off her horse so they had to stop.

Terrence dismounted his horse and quickly rushed towards her the moment she fell. He's worried she might get an injury because they're already starting their mission. Liliana felt the same way, she was also worried about her but there's this third feeling rising inside of her.

"Are you hurt?" Terrence asked her and checked her feet.

Freya shook her head. "I'm not. I know how to fall off. I'm just not really good at riding horses."

He held her shoulders and still helped her get up even if she said that she's not hurt. Liliana felt Luca went to her side with his horse, glaring at Freya.

"She should've said it a while ago. Such a waste of time," He said annoyingly.

She looked at him and tried to smile. "Don't say that."

In the end, they decided to ride Terrence's horse together para hindi na maulit pa ang nangyari kay Freya kanina. They contacted and asked Silvermist for help to teleport Freya's horse to get back to the manor and so she did.

Liliana silently followed them from behind and didn't say a thing 'til Terrence pulled the reins of his horse and stopped. He gave them a signal sign to feel the area. A moment later they started to hear footsteps coming to where they are.

"At 3 o'clock." He muttered.

She looked at their right side. "He's alone."

"Who cares?" Freya aimed her bow and without hesitating, she released the arrow towards the direction where the man is. Natamaan ito sa tiyan at agad na nawalan ng malay.

They went to him and removed the black fabric covering half of his face. He is clearly one of the rebels because of the bone tattoo on the side of his neck. He was also holding a jar earlier before Freya shoots him, probably to get some water for the other rebels who are still hiding somewhere inside the forest.

"I think I know where they are."

They all looked at Bryce, waiting for him to continue. He pointed the ground and by that simple gesture, all of them already have the same thought.

"I just wanna blow up the whole forest to finish this and see Silvermist," Sid whined.

Bryce scoffed at him. "Many villagers and the village itself will get affected if we do that, so no."

"I have a plan," Terrence started and glanced at the guy next to Liliana. "Since Luca's ability is shapeshifting, he'll transform himself into this man and go to their hideout to find out their next plan."

"Isn't that too risky?" Sabat ni Sid, showing his protectiveness towards Luca because he sees him as his little brother.

Liliana also thinks that it's too risky for Luca who is still young, though she agrees to Terrence at the same time because even if it's not a safe plan, it is still the best way to do it for the sake of everyone.

"We're not called star members and protectors of the four elements if we don't take big risks, including our own life."
