Sebastian wasn't too sure how he'd ended up here beside Karl and Leah and the Priest who soaked Elsie's head with holy water. Well, he knew how - Karl had told him he was going to be her Godfather - but he wasn't too sure as to why he was considered responsible enough for such an honour.
He was jubilant about it, nonetheless.
His eyes met with Eden's. She was sat in the front pew, grinning at him. She looked beautiful. Her hair was freshly dyed, courtesy of Sebastian's excellent hairdressing skills, and so was slightly brighter than what he was used to. It had grown slightly, enough that the loose waves now hung to her breasts.
She was wearing a white shirt dress, a light pink cable knitted vest over the top, long enough that it drooped to her thighs. She had tightened a white belt around her waist, one that matched her white heels and bag. The buckle was gold, the exact same shade as the bracelet around her wrist that she never took off.
The most beautiful thing about her was that smile though. It would always be that smile.
Eden huffed a laugh at Sebastian's pure ignorance to what was going on around him. She gestured towards the front and he finally tore his eyes from her. Still, he stole a few glances whenever he could for the rest of the service. It didn't matter where they were, Sebastian always seemed to consider her the most worthwhile person worth his attention. She loved that. Loved that she was the one he looked for in a room. Loved that she was that special to him. Loved that he told her every day.
When he approached her, Elsie now Christened and Karl eager to get to the social club for a pint, she reached up to straighten his collar. "You look so handsome." She muttered, pushing on to her tiptoes to press a kiss to his lips.
"I was going for mature, but thank you." He cheesed, grinning wide.
"You must be mature. You're officially a Godfather." She returned, weaving her fingers between his as they began out of the Church. He exhaled a heavy breath.
"Still think it's way too much responsibility for me." He mumbled, bending down so his words would be heard only by Eden.
She laughed, leaning into his side before smiling at Leah and Karl who were waiting just outside. "Thank you so much for coming, Eden." Leah said as she bounced her fussing daughter on her hip.
Karl nodded. "It's good to know that Elsie is in responsible company when she comes to visit." He winked at her, and Eden couldn't help but laugh.
Seb frowned, feigning heartache. "Thank you for the vote of confidence. It's not as though I've just vowed to watch after Els for the rest of my life."
"I'm teasing kid," Karl laughed, knocking a fist against Seb's shoulder. "You're both coming for a drink, yeah?"
"We'd love to." Eden answered on behalf of the pair. Of course, Sebastian never planned to say no to that. Plenty had changed over the past few months, but he still enjoyed a drink just as he did before he and Eden made things official.
He took a hand to Eden's hair, tucking it behind her ear. "I need to go get the present out of the car. Two minutes."
She nodded, and though he wasn't going far, she offered her a chaste kiss in parting. Of course, Seb accepted. He loved kissing her at any opportunity he got. He could never tire of it.

Elsie settled after being fed. It was one thing that Sebastian found he was going to have to grow accustomed to, the wailing. For such a little thing, she sure had a pair of lungs on her.
He was bouncing her on his knee, smiling back at her when she laughed. Seb never imagined that he'd find himself so comfortable holding a baby, but he found that he took to it like a duck in water. A natural, Eden had called him.
