Taehyung tried to let fate have its way.He tried to let Yoongi go, tried to let him live without him, but in the end, Yoongi was the one who wouldn't allow it. Multiple times, Taehyung has tried to stay out of Yoongi's life, but not once did Yoongi ever hold him close and told him how much he needed him.
It broke Taehyung.
He can hardly believe that he ever wanted to leave Yoongi— at least, that's how Yoongi views it as, that Taehyung is leaving him. All along, Taehyung thought of it as letting Yoongi be free, but it seems Yoongi is just as persistent in keeping him by his side. He really can't blame him, either. Taehyung was crazy to try and let Yoongi go.
As he sits and watches Yoongi focus on a piece of paper he's writing so quickly on, Taehyung can't believe he ever wanted to leave him on his own. Yoongi is precious to him.
He just thought that the one thing he wants the most is for Yoongi to be protected, and it always seemed that he'd never be protected if Taehyung was around. It always seems that way. But Yoongi told him otherwise and Yoongi knocked some sense into his head; Kim Taehyung will never leave him again.
"Yoongi," he calls out, incredibly endeared as he watches Yoongi's pen going wild on the notebook he has. Lately, he's always got something to write on and write with. Taehyung is glad to see a new hobby enter Yoongi's life. "Yoongi, darling, you've gotta drink some blood, remember? To survive?"
The youngest vampire lets out a slightly irritated huff as he looks over at his metal container. They'd filled it full last night, but he's only taken two sips of it.
He quickly picks it up and chugs it, but then sets it down and goes right back to writing as if his life depends on it.
Taehyung gets up from his bed and goes towards his desk, where Yoongi is sitting, but Yoongi quickly turns his notebook over and turns to look up at him, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Don't look," he says.
Taehyung holds his hands up in surrender. "I'm not, I'm just..."
"Looking." Yoongi chuckles. He shoos Taehyung away with his hand. "Go on. I don't want you to see. It's embarrassing."
He's still endeared even though Yoongi gently throws a pencil against his arm. It doesn't hurt in the slightest and he just laughs.
He knows what Yoongi is writing about even if he refuses to tell him; Hoseok had mentioned it the other day, that Yoongi was writing disgustingly cute poems about Taehyung and Namjoon had swooned while Taehyung tried to hide how "disgustingly in love" he is.
It's cute that Yoongi writes poems about him and it makes Taehyung feel so loved. He's never had anyone write poems about him— of course, he's always waited for Taen's soul to show up so he could love only him again, but even Taen had only given Taehyung wild flowers and kisses on his cheek.
It makes Taehyung wonder for a moment, if Yoongi would also like wild flowers. His soul was kind and gentle enough to give Taehyung such a sweet gesture back then.
"Taehyungie," Yoongi whines.
Only then does Taehyung realize that he's still basically hovering over him. Yoongi's whine is so cute, but he apologizes and backs away, leaving him to his poems.
"I'll be right back," he tells him.
Yoongi looks back at him with confusion in his eyes. "Wait," he tells Taehyung. "Don't leave. I was just kidding."
Taehyung chuckles as Yoongi turns his chair around and pleads with his eyes. "Yoongi, I'm not leaving. This is my bedroom. I'm just going outside for a second, okay?"
The youngest vampire looks embarrassed. He turns around to the desk again and facepalms himself. Taehyung can hardly believe just how in love he is with Yoongi's simplest gestures.
He leaves the room and goes outside, frowning to himself once he realizes that the winter air has killed off any wildflowers. Suddenly he wishes it was Spring.
"Taehyungie," he suddenly hears from behind him. He turns at the sound of Yoongi's voice and frowns as he sees that Yoongi has his bag in his hand.
"Are you leaving?"
Yoongi nods. "I graduate tomorrow, remember?" He chuckles once he notices Taehyung's pout. "Don't be so upset, Taehyungie. My mom wants me to help her prepare dinner, so I have to go."
Taehyung sighs dramatically. "Okay," he mumbles, still pouting as Yoongi steps up to him. He didn't even get to find a flower for him like he wanted to.
"You'll be okay." Yoongi comes so close that Taehyung's eyes widen. He raises a hand to Taehyung's cheek and then with no hesitation at all, he pushes himself up on his toes and presses a quick peck to Taehyung's other cheek. "Goodnight, Taehyungie."
He was so certain that Yoongi was about to kiss him on his lips— it's just what his brain automatically thought would happen. But Yoongi walks away and Taehyung's cheek is tingling with warmth that shouldn't be there considering his vital status.
Yoongi has never been cuter before and Taehyung can't help but think that even without his memory, Yoongi seems to really like him. But how? How could Yoongi possibly choose him not only once or twice, but three times? How could Taehyung ever get so lucky?
Is he so lucky?
