The trio ends up in a two-bedroom apartment. The three bedroom apartment that Jungkook had found apparently didn't work out; the owner ghosted them and Seokjin tried to convince them to suck his blood dry, to which Jimin smacked his hand lightly and told him no.

Hoseok and Namjoon share a room while Jungkook has a bedroom to himself.

Taehyung and Yoongi finally got a two-bedroom apartment together and Yoongi's mom was so excited that she invited Taehyung over for dinner to celebrate them going off to college, not knowing that Taehyung had already been through all this before, but Taehyung showed so much respect and excitement in return that it almost seemed like the first time. It made Yoongi feel... fuzzy. Warm inside despite how dead cold he is.

"This is the last box." Taehyung takes the big box to the middle of the apartment and places it on top of another one. They don't have many things to move in, but Yoongi's mom insists that she'll buy them some housewarming gifts later. "Do you want to take a break, Yoongi? Or should we begin unpacking now?"

Yoongi shrugs. "I've never had all this energy before in my life. I feel like I could definitely unpack some things, but only if you want to of course."

Taehyung smiles and glances over Yoongi's face, down to his lips, then back up to his eyes. "You're so considerate," he mutters. "We can unpack. Don't worry about me. I'll do whatever it is you want to do, love."

Yoongi blinks frantically, immediately looking away and trying to avoid blushing or at least showing Taehyung that he is.

"Um. Okay. I'll start."

———

The worst part about adulting isn't going to college— which Yoongi hasn't even started yet anyways— nor it is bills or working. No.

The worst part is feeding.

It isn't even an adult problem, either, but Yoongi associates it with the fact. He just hates that since he and Taehyung are living on their own now, Taehyung insists that Yoongi should learn to get his own blood to feed.

"You're telling me that vampires still haven't made a secret underground feeding layer or something? Like fast food, but fast blood instead of food..?"

Taehyung's grin is big and boxy, and his vampire teeth are on display. They've snuck into the woods behind somebody's barn out of the city and Yoongi hates that they're out here. He hates that Taehyung asked him to go hunting. Killing animals was not on his to-do list today or ever.

"We actually do have something similar," Taehyung admits. "But this is how we have to do things if all else fails, which it does sometimes. The blood bank doesn't always have enough to spare, so this is what we do."

They're crouching in the woods, waiting for something to come along.

"I know it isn't ideal," he continues. "But I just wanted to be the one to show you. Just in case..." He looks off into the woods and his voice falls quieter. "Just in case."

Yoongi doesn't like the implications.

"Listen."

He does listen. There's the sound of something snapping, like a twig, in the woods. Taehyung gently takes Yoongi's hand and before he knows it, they're out hunting to feed together for the first time.

———

Yoongi sleeps.

He misses the feeling of doing so, so he sleeps. Taehyung was quite confused when Yoongi told him that he was going to do so, but Yoongi told him if he disturbed his rest then he'd throw Taehyung's own bed down the apartment staircase, and gave him a sweet smile before he went off to his bedroom.

Of course, he doesn't have to sleep. But he also doesn't have to limit himself to all the typical vampire shit— just like how Taehyung and Jungkook don't mind eating normal human food, Yoongi likes his rest.

But when he tries to sleep, he thinks about writing. He wants to write about how his day went with Taehyung and how he's feeling about the first few days he's been living with him.

He wants to write about so many things like how Taehyung is so peculiar with how he prepares to leave the apartment, how he likes specific shampoos and furniture, how Taehyung wanted to buy a plant for him and Yoongi to take care of, and how he managed to make Yoongi fall even harder in love with him.

Yoongi knows his opinion is biased because he woke up and suddenly had a boyfriend that he apparently really liked, but it doesn't take a genius to realize all the ways to love Kim Taehyung.

He just wishes he could be more confident in this love. He wishes he wasn't too afraid to tell Taehyung. He wishes Taehyung could have his old Yoongi back so this love wouldn't seem so forced.

Suddenly, Namjoon's voice rings in Yoongi's ears; their conversation from weeks ago. He sighs and tries to remember to live in the present instead of worrying so much about the past. He really should try his best to make Taehyung love this version of himself as he is. It's just so hard.

But not impossible.

Maybe he should try harder.

Maybe he will.
