Twenty-Three

Yoongi gathers the courage to do something— to finally make a move. He does it not-so-subtly, and it's a rather bold move.

Since he's been writing so much lately, he writes a little poem and then goes out to the store. There, he buys a cute little envelope to put the poem in and also a small bouquet of flowers and a vase to put them in. When he gets back home, he puts everything together and leaves the vase of flowers and envelope at the kitchen counter because if there's anything Yoongi has noticed, it's that Taehyung always comes back to the apartment and puts his keys on that damn counter (every time!)

When Taehyung gets back home from shopping with Jungkook, he'll immediately see the little gift.

But Yoongi is shy. Sort of. He's shy when it comes to things like this.

So, he leaves the apartment. He goes to Seokjin and Jimin's place and tries not to seem too suspicious about it, but the couple are a bit surprised to see him coming over all alone.

"Why are you here by yourself?" Seokjin asks.

Jimin tells him, "Tae and Jungkookie are out shopping, baby. Still, are you here for something, Yoongi?" He smirks. "Or are you here to see your favorite person ever?" He points at himself and both Yoongi and Seokjin laugh, but Seokjin pats his boyfriend on the shoulder.

"Don't be ridiculous." He also smirks. "Taehyungie is his favorite."

Yoongi blushes and the other two laugh, but even after he settles into their home, neither of them end up finding out why Yoongi is really there. They just have dinner together and watch TV as they talk about whatever.

If Yoongi is nervous the entire time, wondering what time Taehyung will get back home and what he'll think about the gift, he doesn't mention it. He looks at his phone often, but no messages come through and he's left to simply wonder the entire time he's away from home. He tries not to let it worry him, but he bites at his inner cheek as he walks back home.

Hopefully, at the very least, Taehyung is home. He just hopes nothing happened to him, but he's also too nervous to text him. So, he just walks home, hoping.

Taehyung and Jungkook went to a gaming shop that was having a sale today. The game they've been playing together lately had a merch sale, plus a giveaway, so they went to it just for funzies and also because Jungkook wanted to buy merch for his new bedroom.

After that, they went out to have lunch and shop around at the mall. When Taehyung gets back to the apartments, it's late in the afternoon and dinnertime should be soon, but all he really cares about is that fresh sack of blood he left in the fridge earlier— don't judge him.

When he steps into the apartment, the first thing he notices is that Yoongi's favorite pair of shoes aren't by the door and his presence is nowhere to be felt of. His first instinct is to panic (because Yoongi has a past of being kidnapped and being taken advantage of, so of course his panic mode is on) but when he goes to throw his car keys on the kitchen counter, he's met with a lovely vase of yellow and red flowers that's placed next to a little red envelope.

To Taehyungie

Cute.

He opens the envelope and to his surprise, there's a poem written on the paper folded inside of it. His heart feels like it's beating again as he reads it:

I Like You

I like you a lot.
In the way sea turtles like the beach.
In the way rain likes to fall.
The way caterpillars like apples.
And the sun likes to rise.

I like you effortlessly.
You're very special to me.

It's such a precious little poem. It must be one of the poems Yoongi has written about Taehyung, and he's finally allowing him to see it.

Whatever the special occasion might be, Taehyung is utterly in love and just like Seokjin had kept the painting of him and Jimin for decades, Taehyung plans to keep this little poem held safe for even longer than that; forever, forever in his heart.

He needs to know so badly what this poem and the bouquet of flowers mean. It seems like a confession, but Yoongi isn't here to confirm that and he's desperate to know. Desperate for Yoongi to really like him like that again.

He waits for Yoongi to come home, sitting by the counter and sipping his blood as he reads the poem over and over again.
