Erwin walked down the empty streets, the image of his friend's beaten and bruised face still fresh in his mind. He knew it was a warning from the military police, a message to back off or suffer the same fate.

His emotions were in turmoil. He was scared of what could happen to him and Victoria if he didn't comply with their demands. But at the same time, he couldn't bear the thought of betraying Victoria and turning against everything he believed in.

As he approached the building where he had been taken earlier, his heart was pounding in his chest. He knew he was taking a huge risk by coming back, but he had to do something to protect Victoria and her family.

He walked through the front door and was immediately surrounded by armed guards. They led him to a dark room where he was met by a man in a suit.

"Well, well, well, look who decided to come back," the man said with a smirk.

Erwin felt a chill run down his spine as he looked into the man's cold, calculating eyes. He knew he was dealing with a dangerous individual.

"I've decided to join your cause," Erwin said, trying to keep his voice steady.

The man raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? And what made you change your mind?"

Erwin took a deep breath. "I saw what you did to my friend. I don't want the same thing to happen to me or to Victoria."

The man chuckled. "Smart man. We'll be keeping a close eye on you, of course. But I think we can come to an arrangement."

Erwin nodded, relieved that he had managed to get out of there unscathed. But as he walked out of the building, he couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt and betrayal. He had just turned his back on everything he believed in, just to protect himself and the woman he loved.

As he walked back to his quarters, Erwin couldn't help but feel like a coward. He had always prided himself on his loyalty and bravery, but now he had betrayed everything he stood for.

When he finally reached his room, he found Victoria waiting for him. She looked up as he entered, her eyes full of concern.

"Erwin, what happened?" she asked, noticing the look on his face.

Erwin hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to explain what he had just done. But he knew he had to tell her the truth.

"I...I turned against you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Victoria's eyes widened in shock. "What do you mean?"

Erwin took a deep breath. "I went back to them, Victoria. I told them I was with them now. I betrayed everything I believe in, just to protect us."

Victoria's expression turned to one of sadness and disappointment. "Erwin, how could you?"

Erwin hung his head in shame. "I'm sorry, Victoria. I had no choice. They were going to hurt us, or worse."

Victoria shook her head. "No, Erwin. There is always a choice. You could have stayed true to yourself and to what you believe in. I thought you were stronger than this."

Erwin felt a lump form in his throat as he looked into Victoria's eyes. He knew he had let her down, and himself.

"I'm sorry, Victoria," he said again, his voice barely above a whisper.

Victoria looked away, her eyes filled with tears. "I need some time to think, Erwin. I can't be with someone who doesn't stand up for what they believe in."

Erwin knew that what he did was wrong. He betrayed the one person he loved the most in the world. But at that moment, he was so scared of losing her that he felt like he had no other choice.

Days passed, and Erwin kept quiet about what he did. He couldn't bring himself to tell Victoria. He was afraid of what her reaction would be. He knew that she would never forgive him.

But he couldn't hide it forever. Victoria noticed that something was wrong. She could see the fear in his eyes, the guilt in his every move. She pressed him to tell her what was going on, and eventually, he broke down and told her everything.

Victoria was devastated. She couldn't believe that Erwin had betrayed her like that. She felt like her entire world had been shattered. But as much as she wanted to hate him, she still loved him.

Erwin begged for her forgiveness. He promised that he would do anything to make it up to her, to keep her safe. He told her that he loved her more than anything in the world, and that he was willing to do anything to prove it to her.

Victoria was torn. She didn't know if she could forgive him for what he did. But she still loved him, and she wanted to believe that he was telling the truth.

Days turned into weeks, and Erwin did everything he could to make it up to Victoria. He was always there for her, always doing whatever he could to make her feel safe and loved.

Slowly but surely, Victoria began to forgive him. She knew that what he did was wrong, but she also knew that he did it out of fear. She could see that he was truly sorry for what he did, and that he would do anything to make it right.

It wasn't easy, but eventually, they were able to move past what happened. They worked together to fight against the corruption in the military police, to expose the truth and bring justice to those who had been wronged
