Haven's POV

"Is this dress better? What about this one?" Nora's been parading hanboks for Seollal for the past three hours. The boys have dozed off in their seats, and Arielle, Ayesha, and I are struggling to keep our eyes open.

Nora’s room, adorned with every imaginable luxury, sparks a twinge of envy in me. As the second daughter of Min Cosmetics, a thriving beauty business, she has it all. Her sister, Min Haishi, is even engaged to the CEO of TechShion, one of the world's most influential companies.

Just like Nora, Alex and Brandon come from wealthy families. Alex is the heir to CH Airlines, one of the biggest in Korea, and Brandon's family boasts a royal lineage with the longest-standing officials in Korea.

They were born with silver spoons in their mouths. A sudden call interrupts my thoughts. It’s an unknown number, but anything to escape this situation. "Hello?"

Felix's POV

"Mother! What are you doing?!" I shout, exasperated. She enters the house followed by attendants carrying numerous shopping bags. "What do you mean? I brought gifts!" she explains.

"For me?" I ask, confused. "Of course not!" she snaps. "Why would they be for you? These are for Haishi and me for Seollal." I sigh.

Ever since my engagement to Haishi, my mom has been on cloud nine. This marriage is purely for business; no emotions involved. Haishi isn’t bad, but I can’t see us raising a family together.

Her sister is insufferable, always boasting about the engagement and belittling others. I can't stand her.

"What's with that sigh? She's supposed to be your wife soon!" Mom reproaches. "I don't want her to be... it's just a business proposal," I try to explain, but it sounds like whining. "I know, but she'll still be part of our family!"

Noticing my disinterest, she sighs and then looks at me mischievously. "Lixin told me you have a newfound interest in a girly backpack." I shoot a glare at Lixin, who shrinks behind my mom.

After some thought, Mother proposes, "Let's make a deal. Call the owner of the bag and invite her for dinner. If she passes my test, I'll let you break off the engagement with the Min family." I stare at her, flabbergasted.

My mother, the one who wants me married the most, is suggesting I break off the engagement with Haishi if Haven makes a good impression. This is incredibly advantageous for me.

"Alright, but don't back out of your deal." I pull out my phone and, after getting Haven's number from the company's IT team, I call her. After a few rings, she answers, "Hello?"

Haven's POV

"Hello?" I answer the phone. "Is this Park Haven?" a man's voice asks. "Yes, and who might this be?" I inquire. After a brief silence, I hear a chuckle. "You really tend to forget me, don't you?" I sit up straight, startling the boys from their slumber. "Felix! How are you?" I mentally slap myself for not recognizing his voice immediately.

"I'm very well. I hope I'm not disturbing you?" He sounds amused. "No, you actually saved me from another hour of shopping." Nora gives me a playful shove, and I stick my tongue out at her.

"I see. Well, I'll get straight to the point. Can you do me a favor?" A bit distracted, I agree, "Sure! What can I do for you?"

"Will you have dinner with me tonight?" He asks after a moment's hesitation. "I beg your pardon?" I'm taken aback by the invite. "Would you like to have dinner with me tonight?" he repeats.

"I'm s-sorry, but this is too sudden," I stutter, unsure of his intentions. "I know, but I have a really good reason. You left your bag in my car last night, and my mom found out. Now she wants to meet you. That's the short version. I have no choice but to invite you to dinner," he explains.

This is technically my fault, and Felix is in a bind because of my carelessness. Sighing, I agree, "Alright, but I don't know where you live." "Don't worry, I'll send my secretary to your house by 7," he replies, sounding relieved.

Smiling, I hang up the phone. Before anyone can ask questions, I announce, "Looks like I have a date tonight." Silence falls before the room erupts in cheers and clapping. "Let's go shopping!" Alex exclaims.

Brandon nods in agreement, "Yes, your taste in clothes will scare the poor guy away." I hit him playfully.

And so, I spend the rest of the day preparing for dinner at Felix's.
