Chapter 5: Explanations

Felix's POV

"What!" we both shout simultaneously. "It's true!" Farris confirms, and the others nod in agreement.

"How can this be!?" I ask, still in disbelief.

"Yeah, we're humans!" Next to me, the girl, exclaims, shocked.

"Yes, it's surprising for us as well, as it's the first time humans have set foot in Magix, much less ruled it," Chofi explains.

"Then why, HOW are we the next monarchs?" The girl speaks up, her voice trembling slightly.

"The answer to this question is what I want to hear too," I nod along with her. We both look at the magical beings in front of us, waiting.

"We don't know that ourselves, only the fact that you are the chosen ones," Angelica answers.

"What do you know?!" I ask, exasperated.

Haven's POV

"In my vision, you two can be seen sitting on the throne of Magix while a hooded person stands before you with a dark shadow encircling above them," Pandora replies.

"Which means that the current queen, Her Highness Angelica, is going to die, leaving you two to rule the Multi-Galaxy," Lenna cuts in, her voice heavy with the gravity of the situation.

"Also, this hooded evil is going to come looking for you. We don't know when or why," Hercule adds.

"So right now, our best option is to train you for whatever is out there," Farris suggests.

"And because you are humans, you need extra training to know our values, cultures, languages, and people to be good rulers," Selene adds.

"It's true we don't know much at the moment, but it would be best if you would trust us and let us train you. It is inevitable that you both will rise to the throne, and for that, you need our help. But the choice is up to you," Angelica looks at us, expectant.

I'm overwhelmed with all this knowledge, and honestly, I don't know what to do. Glancing at my side, I see that Felix is also lost in thought. Noticing our hesitation, Flema advises, "If I may, Your Highness, it would be best to give them privacy for some time so they can make their decision. This revelation is a bit too big to be digested all at once."

Angelica agrees after some time. They all make their way out the door, leaving me and Felix alone.

Felix's POV

"Do you believe them?" I ask as soon as the door closes. She thinks before answering, "The weird thing is that I do. I don't know how to explain, but I feel as if this is where I belong."

I nod, indicating that I understand. "Are you going to accept their offer?" she asks, curious.

"They haven't given us great choices to choose between," I answer.

"Then it looks like we'll be seeing each other frequently," she smiles. I smile too. "Oh! By the way, I'm Felix." Noticing her puzzled expression, I explain myself, "I just realized we haven't introduced ourselves yet."

"Ahh...yes! My name's Haven!" She looks flustered. I chuckle at her embarrassment. After a bit of silence, I say, "I think we should tell the Gods and Goddesses about our decision." She nods and gets up to open the door. The Gods and Goddesses immediately come inside.

"So, have you made up your minds?" Angelica asks, trying to appear calm. Haven and I look at each other and then turn toward our eager audience. "Yes!" we say in unison.

Their faces light up. "Why, this is wonderful news!" Aether exclaims joyously.

"It is indeed!" Chofi agrees.

"Well then, let's settle a few things first," Angelica says, back to business, yet it is visible that she is also relieved and ecstatic.

"Midnight would be best," Morpheus suggests. The others nod in approval.

"Alright then, leave everything to us and be ready by midnight. One of the Gods will come to pick you up," Angelica gives the final word.

"I believe it is time for you both to leave," Flema speaks up.

I look at my watch, "My parents are gonna kill me!" Felix looks at me and says, "Don't worry, I'll drop you!" I smile, thinking maybe he's not so bad.

"Well then, let's go!" Aether exclaims, and he and Farris take us by our arms, and we teleport with a POP!

Haven's POV

"There you go! Right next to your car!" Farris grins, and with that, both of the Gods teleport back.

"Let's go!" Felix beckons me towards his car and opens the door for me.

Throughout the ride, we're both silent. When we finally reach my house, Felix gets out and opens my door. "It was very nice to meet you, Haven. I'll see you tonight then!" He smiles and then takes my hand, brushing his lips against it lightly.

Time stands still. The sunlight shines on his gorgeous dirty blonde hair, and his piercing emerald eyes stare deep into mine. He makes my heart flutter like crazy.
