chapter sixty-one: Sophia's birthday.

"Yay!" Everyone cheered as Sophia smashed her cake, a large grin on the young child's face as she laughed loudly. Danielle and Nour took photos, Nura holding onto Sophia as she continued to smash her cake. It was just them, it being a few days since New Years. It made Danielle sad that this was it for her, but knew that they were all that she needed. They gave her as much love as they could, the two lovers treating Sophia as their own. 

But nobody more than Nura.

"Yeah, that's my big girl! You're so big now!" Nura cooed as she kissed the baby's cake-covered face. Taina took their photo, her eyes full of love for the older woman that she's grown fond of. After getting caught by Nour again, the two women continued to talk almost all night about what they want their future to look like. Things were starting to get more serious between them, Nura's thoughts roaming to the future every time she saw Taina and vice versa.

Maybe I've finally found the one.

"Okay guys, school tomorrow. Let's wrap it up, okay?" Danielle called causing the boys to groan. They grudgingly walked up the stairs after saying goodnight to Nura and Taina who started to clean the kitchen.

"And you, my little love bug..it's time for you to get a bath and all swaddled up.." Danielle cooed as she looked down at Nubia that was in her chest wrap and gnawing on her fist. She was wide eyed, looking around at everything which was a great sign for her development. Danielle watched her every move, afraid that the woman's mature age and stress would affect her growth and development.

"You coming, daddy?" Danielle asked Nour who nodded while pecking her lips. Danielle pecked him back before smirking as Nour wiped her lipgloss from his lips with a knowing smile.

"And you're talking about me.." Nura scoffed while shuddering causing Taina to chuckle.

"You didn't see her sitting on my face butt ass naked." Nour hissed while glaring at his almost-identical twin. Taina's face turned bright red as she stared at Nour with wide eyes while Nura just laughed.

"You're just jealous that Ive got bigger breasts and curves." Nura smirked causing Nour to nearly gag.

"Nour has a lot to him." Danielle snickered causing Nour to blush with wide eyes as he looked at Danielle.

"Dani!"

"What? She's tryna say you're bony. You're not. You've got just the right amount of meat on you..especially your-"

"YEAH, OKAY! Goodnight!" Nura yelled as she grabbed Taina and pulled her toward their side of the house. Danielle just laughed, the sound triggering a slight smile from Nubia as she cuddled closer to her mother before shutting her eyes.

"Yeah, meat that you won't touch." Nour scoffed causing Danielle to laugh harder with a shrug while following him upstairs.

"Sanaa-Abdul?" The nurse practitioner called out. It was Nubia's one month appointment and just less than a week before the twins' birthday. Danielle hasn't heard from her father since new years but it was expected. She knew that he knew that she saw something and wasn't mentioning it.  It was more than just keeping her mothers illness from her and he knew that.

She wasn't sure how to bring it up. It wasn't something that she could judge him for, but the secrecy was what bothered her. She's an adult and their only child, her everyone else seemed to come before she did.

And she was over it

"Please remove all of her clothes except for her diaper and place her on the scale, please." The nurse asked as she sanitized her hands. The parents obeyed, both of them helping one another remove the layers of clothes she had on. She cooed, her small noises making them smile as she stretched out her limbs once she was laid down. The nurse took the newborn's vitals before writing it down and smiling.

"Everything is normal. She's chunky and healthy. The doctor should be in shortly to give her vaccines and go over her growth chart." The nurse walked out, Nour sitting on the chair in the corner as Danielle sat on the bed while holding Nubia who cuddled into her warm arms.

"So..Where are we going?" Nour asked.

"What? You're on this again?" Danielle chuckled as she rubbed Nubia's back.

"Yes. Just a weekend. We can go anywhere in the world."

"You got it like that, huh?" Danielle asked with a teasing smirk. Nour stood, walking over and leaning down, his arms trapping her as he looked down with a sly smile.

"We..got it like that. Come on, mommy. Let daddy treat you. We deserve it, no? Just you and me." Nour asked quietly as he kissed her lips sweetly. Danielle chuckled as she swooned while rolling her hooded eyes as he kissed her again.

"Please mommy?"

"Stop..." Danielle dragged, Nubia suddenly coughing as milk spilled from her mouth and onto her fathers pants. Danielle laughed loudly as Nour groaned while grabbing the baby wipes and wiping off his jeans.

"Nubia gave you your answer." Danielle snickered as she cleaned her daughters mouth. Nour chuckled while shaking his head and biting his lip.

"No worries. You'll be begging for it."

"Mhmm..but it's you I hear right now, yeah?" Danielle asked with a smirk. Nour walked over and grabbed her throat gently causing her to gasp, his thumb caressing her bottom lip. His thumb slipped into her mouth and pushed it open, his thumb resting on her tongue causing her to whimper slightly.

"Maybe..but I know how to make your body cry out for me. So who's really in control?" Nour asked as his hand slipped down and pinched her nipple causing her to gasp loudly, her milk leaking through her shirt. Nubia suddenly whined, pushing her face against the wet spot causing Nour to grin even wider.

"Oh you're evil. Evil evil evil."

"Only for you."
