"Hey, Y/N... I wanted to tell you something," he said, stopping and gently pulling you to face him.

But just as he did, you tripped over your own foot and accidentally bumped into his forehead—since you were taller than him.

You both almost fell, but he quickly wrapped his arms around you to keep you steady.

Alexis wanted to confess his feelings to you, but he didn’t know how.

“Hey, Alex! How are you?” you asked, walking up to him.

Alex jumped, startled by your sudden voice. “I—uh—it’s nothing,” he replied awkwardly.

“You know Francis?” you asked, tilting your head.

“That boy? I don’t like him,” he said bluntly.

You shrugged and dug into your bag.

“What are you doing?” he asked curiously.

You smirked and held up some food in front of his face.

“Want half?” you said playfully.

He looked at you like you were joking, but then you laughed. “No? Then I’ll eat it—”

“No, I want it. Let’s share,” he said quickly. You smiled, cut the food in half, and handed him a piece.

“Thanks,” he said, grinning.

“Alex, what’s under that hat? You always wear it,” you asked out of nowhere.

He paused mid-bite. “I don’t like my head. I’m not bald or anything, I just… don’t like it.”

“Why would you hate it? Even if you showed me, I’d never hate you,” you said sincerely.

He looked at you softly. “Really?”

“Gosh, Alex, don’t look at me like that! You’re giving me shivers,” you said dramatically.

“Do I look like a ghost or something?”

“No…”

“Then why?”

“You look like a boy who flirts with all the girls,” you teased.

He burst out laughing. “LMAO!”

After school, you and Alex were walking home together when you stopped.

“Hey, Alex! Look!” you pointed. “It’s a duck!”

Alex glanced over. “That duck looks injured…”

You leaned in closer, concerned—but suddenly the duck quacked loudly and waddled away like nothing happened.

You and Alex jumped in surprise, then you started laughing so hard you nearly lost your breath.

Alex didn’t laugh immediately, and when you looked over, you saw him staring at you.

“Hey! Quickie! Don’t stare at me like that!” you teased, shaking his shoulder.

He snapped out of it. “Sorry! Haha…”

“Did you hear that duck’s voice? It was so cute!”

“Yeah,” he smiled.

You laughed again. “Haha… Quackie.”

Your eyes met.

Suddenly, an old man riding a bicycle appeared out of nowhere.
