Ashton writes Luke a secret message when they play school.

Knock knock.

Luke looked at his door and slid off his bed.

He toddled over to his door and peeked out. "Yas?"

"Lu!" Ashton beamed. "Hai!"

"Ashy!" Luke screamed in happiness. "Ashy comed over to play?"

Ashton nodded and walked into Luke's room. "Wan play with Barbie, Lukey?"

Luke pouted and returned to his bed. "Can't! Have to do work!"

"Work?" Ashton looked up from the Barbie in his hand. "What work?"

"School work." Luke climbed back on his bed. "Mommy says Lukey needs more practice with him letters."

"Oh." Ashton thought a moment, then smiled. "What if Lukey and Ashy play school? Can work on Lukeys work in school game!"

Luke's eyes widened. "Bestest idea ever!"

They got to work rearranging Luke's bedroom into a classroom. His bed became a desk, his small white board was the chalkboard and Ashton stole a pair of Luke's moms glasses.

He placed them on and faced his student, Luke. "Okay Mr. Luke, welky to schoolementary!"

"Hallo Mr. Ashon." Luke waved from his 'desk'. "Snack time yet?"

"Not yet. First has to teach Lukey stuffs." Ashton said. He fixed the glasses on his small nose. "What Lu wanna learn?"

"Letters!" Luke pointed to his worksheet. "Alfahbet!"

"Hm, okay." Ashton faced the whiteboard and carefully traced the letter A. "Okay Lu, wassis?" He pointed.

"A! A for Ashy!" Luke kicked his feet excitedly.

"Good Lu!" Ashton praised. He erased the A and wrote a B.

"Now, wassis?"

"Um...B. B for Barbie!" Luke cheered for himself.

"What bout dis?" Ashton wrote C in the board, and Luke frowned.

He cocked his head as he thought, and squinted his eyes.

He climbed off the bed and studied the letter close up. "Hmm..." He tapped his finger to his chin. "Hmm..."

"Lukey, is not that hard." Ashton said.

"Lukey can't do it!" Luke plopped down and cried. "Dunno the letter!"

Ashton sighed and erased it. "Is okay." He wrote D. "Do Lu know-"

"No!" Luke cried.

"But-"

"No! Dun know any letters but A for Ashy and B for Barbie!" Luke shouted. "And dun wan learn anymore dumb letters!"

Ashton stuck out his tongue to think.

He grabbed a pencil and paper and started writing something.

Luke peered over his shoulder and tried to understand what Ashton was writing. "Ashy? Wassat?"

"Hushy." Ashton continued to write. "Is for Lukey."

"For Lukey?" Luke gasped. "Am Lukey!" He tapped his hand to his heart.

"Yis." Ashton folded up the paper and stuck it in his pocket.

Luke frowned. "But...Ashy is not Lukey."

"Mhm." Ashton adjusted the glasses. "Lukey can have paper when he learns the letters."

"Ugh!" Luke fell to the floor. "Dun wan learn-"

"Then Lukey dun gets paper." Ashton shrugged. "Lu's choice."

Luke pouted. "But Ashon!"

"Das Mr. Ashon!" Ashton declared.

Luke groaned. "Fiiine. Lukey learn letters for Ashy so Lukey can read Ashys paper."

Ashton beamed. "Good! Let's begin!"

They played until Mrs. Irwin came to pick up Ashton.

Ashton handed Luke the paper as he pulled on his little sneakers. "Here Lu."

Luke eagerly took it and opened it up. "Lukey can read it now cuz Lukey knowed da letters!"

His eyes scanned the paper.

Lukey is Ashons favrit Lukey

"Aww, Ashy is Lu's favrit Ashy too!" He tackled Ashton in a hug.

"Ashy can help Lu with his numbers work next?" Luke asked as he let Ashton up to breathe.

"Of course." Ashton patted Luke's face. He loved Luke's face.

"Ready to go home, Ash hun?" Mrs. Irwin asked.

Ashton nodded and kissed Luke's cheek goodbye. "Byeas Lu!"

"Byeas Ashon!" Luke yelled as Mrs. Irwin carried Ashton to his car seat.

He ran back up the stairs to his room and grabbed some tape.

He ripped off a piece and taped the paper above his bed, so he could look at it every night before he went to sleep.

He smiled as he played with the Barbie by himself. "Ashy hun...♡"
