First Sleepover

Luke sleeps over at Ashton's house for the first time and gets scared.

"Did you cry?" Ashton asked in awe, lightly poking Luke's new clip on lip ring.

Luke beamed proudly and shook his head. "Nope! Was strong!"

Ashton giggled. "Yay for strong Lu!" He clapped and Luke took a bow.

"Alright boys," Mrs. Irwin said, walking into Ashton's room. "I'll be downstairs if you need anything. Behave up here, alright?"

"Yas mama." Ashton nodded.

She smiled and shut the door.

Luke climbed off the guest bed and crawled into Ashton's. "Watch scary movies?"

"Otay." Ashton slid off his bed and ran to the movie rack, picking out a movie. "Ooh! Dis ones PG!"

Luke gasped and covered his face with his hands. "Put it in! Put it in!"

Ashton giggled and slid the disc in.

He grabbed the remote and pressed play.

Luke held his stuffed penguin with one hand and held onto Ashton with the other.

"Scared Lu?" Ashton teased.

Luke straightened up. "No! Never! Strong Lu!"

Ashton giggled and played the movie.

Halfway into it, Ashton was totally engrossed in it, while Luke had a horrified look on his face.

He buried his face in his penguin for the rest of the movie.

When it was over, Ashton got out of the bed and ejected the disc.

"Dat was fun! You like it Lu? Lu?"

Luke lowered his penguin. "Uh, yah. Luved it!"

Ashton frowned and crawled beside him. "You 'kay Lu? Look...sad."

"Fine." Luke assured. "Make fort?"

"Yas yas!" Ashton clapped his hands happily. "Go grab p'lows and bankets!"

"Kay." Luke went to his bag as Ashton left and pulled out his night light.

He plugged it into the wall and rested his penguin beside it.

"Got da p'lows and bankets!" Ashton called out, dropping the pillows and blankets on the floor.

"And now, we make!" Luke cheered, stacking the pillows on top of each other.

Ashton threw the blanket over the pillars of pillows and they crawled inside their new fort.

Luke leaned against his pillow and held Ashton's hand as they slowly drifted off to sleep.

Luke cried and sat up abruptly.

He rubbed his eyes and whimpered, trying to get the nightmare out of his head.

He grabbed his penguin and looked over at Ashton, who was sleeping soundly.

He poked Ashton's cheek with his penguins face.

Ashton frowned and rolled over.

Luke sighed and whacked Ashton over the head with his pillow. "Get up and snuggle with Lukey."

Ashton blinked his eyes open. "Lukey?"

"Yas, it's Lukey." Luke crawled over Ashton and admired their matching footie pajamas as he cuddled up to the older boy.

"Ish Lukey scared?" Ashton asked softly, brushing Luke's messy blonde hair back with his hand.

Luke shook his head. "No, Ashy was."

Ashton frowned in confusion. "Ashy was?"

Luke nodded. "Yas, was crying in sleep. But Lukey's here now, s'okay."

He patted Ashton's cheek with his hand. "Night Ashy."

Ashton hugged Luke and buried his face into Luke's shoulder. "Night Lu."

And Luke forgot about his nightmare as he slept beside Ashton.
