Michael: 5

The Cally Pally: 4
----------------------------------------------------------

Michael and Calum were sitting in Michaels living room, watching Winnie the Pooh and eating a snack.

"The Calum?" Michael asked.

Calum turned to face him and cocked his head. He was drinking from his sippy cup of apple juice, and he had some Graham cracker crumbs on the front of his blue overalls.

"Why is the Calum so cute?" Michael pinched the babies cheek.

Calum giggled and blushed, beaming widely to show off his two white teeth.

Michael smiled, happy that he made his best friend happy.

Calum crawled over and curled up in Michael's lap. He rested his head against Michael's TMNT shirt and curled his fingers into little fists around the fabric.

Michael wrapped his arms around the Calum tightly. He bent down and kissed his best friends head. "Sleepy?"

Calum nodded, his eyes already half closed.

"The Cally Pally can sleep, Michael will protect him." Michael kissed Calum again and Calum beamed, his little heartbeat picking up slightly.

Michael watched his cartoons until the TV shut off. His mom put a timer on it whenever the Calum came over because she wanted them to play together and interact, not stare at a screen.

Michael looked down. The Calum was still sleeping.

He didn't want to wake him, but he didn't want to sit here forever until Calum woke up.

Michael brought his hands to the Calums sides and tickled him.

Calums big brown eyes shot open and he squealed. "M'wikey!" He slapped Michaels hands off and rolled off his lap.

When he sat up, his hair was a mess. It stuck out in places and was flattened in others.

Michael snorted in laughter. "The Cally Pally is so cute!"

Calum rubbed his hands to his cheeks to hide his smile.

"What the Cally wan play now?" Michael asked, leading the way to his room.

Calum took a seat on Michaels bed and swung his legs.

"Wan play news report?" Michael asked, getting out his white board and markers.

Calum nodded.

Michael uncapped a marker and scribbled on the board. "Dis just in! A big big rock is gon hit da Earth!" He made explosion sounds as he drew a meteorite on the board.

The Calum gasped and slapped his palms to his cheeks.

"No survivors!" Michael cried, doodling flames around his big big rock.

Calum cried out in fear and hid under the bed.

"All die. The end. On to the Cally Pally for weather." Michael looked around. "The Cally Pally?"

Calum peeked out from under the bed.

Michael frowned. "Watchu doin' under dere? Have to do weather!"

Calum shakily climbed out. He pointed at Michael's drawing and shuddered.

"Ooooh." Michael immediately erased it. "Better?"

Calum stuck his hand in his mouth and nodded, nomming on his little fingers.

Michael gave the marker over and Calum scribbled the sun and clouds and rain and flowers on the board.

"Pretty." Michael patted the Calums head. "Deserves cake!"

Calum dropped the marker and squealed in happiness. He followed Michael to the kitchen and found Mrs. Clifford sitting there, washing dishes.

Michael tugged on her pants leg. "Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom."

"Yes?"

"Mom. Mom. Mom."

"What, Michael?"

"Mom. Mom-"

"Oh my God child, what the fuck do you demand from me this time?" She threw her hands up in exasperation.

"Cake." Michael smiled.

"Fine." She opened a Tupperware and pulled out two pieces of cake. She set them on two plates and placed them at the table.

Calum and Michael took their seats and completely disregarded their forks. They shoved the cakes in their faces, loving the way the frosting stuck to their skin and hair and clothes.

"Om nom?" Michael asked Calum.

The Calum nodded and licked icing from his fingers.

"Hey, the Cally." Michael grinned, poking Calums messy cheek. "Guess what?"

Calum tilted his head to the side.

"Guess who Mikey lobs with all him heart?"

Calum loved this game.

He shrieked in excitement and pointed at himself. He kicked his feet happily and poked his cheeks, pointing to himself with both hands. His beam was wide and happy.

Michael smiled and embraced his friend tightly. "The Calum always wins this game. Is true though, love the Calum with all Mikeys heart."

And Michael didn't need to hear it back. He knew Calum loved him back, with all him Cally heart.
