It was time to exact my plan, to confront Jared, and to learn Chaos's whereabouts. I slowly made my way to the fallen glaive, and sat down, meditating next to it. Quickly I awoke to the white surroundings. I sprinted forward, ignoring memory after memory of Delta. Instantly, a blue figure appeared in front of me.
"Black!" Delta shouted, clearly in uproar. "I know where Itsuki is, you need to save her," He said.
"Delta, you better tell me where Itsuki is or else I'll kill your little sister." I said at the exact same time.
"What?" We both said.
"Alright let me preface this: I don't support what Chaos is doing, in fact I absolutely comdemn her actions. I need Itsuki to be freed to achieve my goals, and Chaos won't listen to me." He said, quickly and rather sporadically.
"Where is Itsuki?" I asked harshly.
"I have no idea, but if we delved further, I'm sure that we could locate where Chaos is hiding her." He said, while images quickly sped around us.
I could see figments and shapes whirl around, all sorts of memories creating worlds worth of people and places, and atop it all, a pair of siblings.
"Chaos is my sister, not by birth, but by soul. We have the power to revive one another, but it comes at a price. When one of us dies, the other one gets enraged. Chaos holds the aspect of Yang, or evil. And I hold the aspect of Yin, or good. She never really learned how to control it, and what made matters worse was that I had run out of revives prior to you killing me." He spoke quickly.
"What's the cost for one of you dying?" I asked him.
"In order to revive one of us, the other must acquire energy equivalent to the opposite. So in the case of me, I need Paraversal energy, or enough deposits of energy in order to equate to that value. Similarly, every time we are revived, we lose out on just about 50% of our power for the first year of being back. It doesn't work in my favor that Allistar is beginning to mount his assault on Earth." He quickly explained. "We're here." He finished, stopping on a memory.
Inside said memory, a figure resembling Delta dove down to the bottom of the ocean, and quickly grabbed and pulled a little girl to the surface. Upon doing so, the little girl, pictured with green hair and a black outfit hugged the boy.
"She's at the deepest place on Earth, the Mariana trench." Delta muttered. "Alright Black, you gotta dive really deep down underwater, and then Itsuki should be there. Chaos is a tough foe, and she doesn't listen to the rules when enraged. You're gonna have to put up with an Ageloid going all out. It's gonna be a fight purely based on strategy and tactics not skill." He quickly spoke.
"Slow down there Delta," I said.
"Please stop calling me Delta, I cast that name aside years ago," Jared said.
"Fine, Jared, but why do you want me to stop your sister?" I asked, rather confused.
"Because my whole life, Allistar has been in control, and now I have a plan to win, but Chaos is going to stop it if you don't stop her first." He said, a hint of sorrow in his voice.
Slowly the white began to fade, and I could feel myself waking up.
"What does Allistar want? And why do you protect Chaos?" I asked.
"Questions for another time," Jared said, his voice slowly fading.
I awoke, and quickly wrote down everything I heard from him. From a distance I could hear the ripple of a helicopter make its way to the Nakano siblings' old home.
'Damn, do I go to the UN meeting and ask for safe passage to the trench, or do I risk it now?'
The clock was ticking as I was lost in thought.
'Well if what Jared says is true, and Chaos is really a massive threat, I might want to ask for the world's help in stopping her. But every second I spend could be another second I lose in saving Itsuki.'
"Hey Black," a feminine voice called out to me.
It was Nino, quickly I braced for another scolding, and calmed my nerves down so that I may let her off easy regardless of her actions today. But I was quickly talked down seeing her posture. She didn't hold herself high, in fact she was slouching. Each step was taken conservatively, and her face didn't emanate as much fury as it normally would.
"I'm sorry," She mumbled.
"What...?" I confusedly asked.
"I lashed out at you, and then you let off some baggage that you probably didn't want to, and now there's this huge mess at the house, and I figured you'd be out here, and yeah, there's a lot to apologize for, but I haven't yet." She finished quietly.
"It's alright. I'm partly to blame too, I failed to protect your sister, even though I swore to protect her. So I'm sorry too." I replied.
"I forgive you, as long as you forgive me," She smiled pitifully.
"Sure, it's a deal." I smirked, outstretching my arms for a hug, a gesture which she returned quite quickly. "Now then, what's the huge mess?" I asked.
"Well..." She recounted. "Basically I woke up on the wrong foot and lashed out at Ichika for letting you stay in the house, at which she retaliated telling me that you were a part of our family, in which, Yotsuba, and surprisingly Miku both chimed in and supported her claim. Then I lashed out at both of them, firing at their insecurities. Miku stood resolute, but I made Yotsuba cry. Ichika lashed out at me, telling me that the argument between me and you last night was my fault too, and then I got mad and told her I'm leaving, and she replied by saying that she wouldn't stop me." She spewed, finishing her story in nearly 5 seconds.
"HAHAHA, wow, you seem very feisty today." I laughed. "Well, there's no helping it, just go swallow your pride and make up with them. I gotta go save your sister, so I don't have much time to talk." I replied quickly.
"What's your plan?" She asked seriously.
"Stop Jared's sister, and then free Itsuki, and when the almighty foe Jared predicted comes to Earth, I'll kill him too." I responded, letting out a little too much.
Quickly her mind spun around, realizing the weight of my words.
"Well... seems flawless to me." She mumbled, walking back home.
I weighed my options one last time.
'Final chance, I go to this meeting and recruit an entire world to stop the girl, but risk Itsuki's death, or I go and fight Chaos here and now, and risk a loss on my part... I'm taking the former.'
I quickly flew off to the helipad at blazing speeds, just barely making it in time.
"Mr. Black?" One of the several present men in suits asked.
"Indeed," I replied.
"We're going to need you to come with us, and put this on," He said, holding out a blindfold in his hand.
"Alright, but don't try anything," I muttered.
"We definitely wouldn't intend on it." He responded.
I quickly put on the blindfold, and was escorted onto the helicopter, I heard the doors close, and was ushered to a seat, and then we were off.
"Elected officials are up in arms right now," One of the men debriefed, "The power struggle is insane right now, it'd be best if you walked on eggshells when you spoke."
"Noted, but I won't be able to make promises." I responded.
The man ignored me, and began to read off procedures I had to follow, but I didn't pay any attention to what he said, instead I began to formulate a plan as to how I could recruit the entire world on my side.
'I bet I could spin the truth like I did with Grant, and make it seem like Chaos is a worldly threat.'
"We're here," I heard the pilot shout, as we landed.
I was required to wear the blindfold at all times, going through security. I was quickly ushered all over the place, officers patting me down one after another, scans blaring all over the place, and security agents running from area to area in order to ensure I wasn't a threat.
Soon I was set to a kneeling position, and for some reason my arms were bound behind my back. The blindfold was removed from my eyes as I saw five people sitting at a desk in front of me.
"Black, you are sentenced to death by the world." The one in the middle calmly spoke.
"Huh?" I asked, put off by the stranger.
The one on the left continuing with the tone began to speak.
"Ever since Jared died, the world has been in havoc. You are to blame for his death therefore I sentence you to d-d-d-deakffhtalfkth," He mused, stuttering, and then butchering the most important word.
"Yeah," The one on the right started. "I forgot we let vegetables join the UN."
"You talkin a lot of shit for being French," the one on the middle left said.
"Enough," the one in the middle commandingly ordered.
"What's this all about?" I asked the one in the middle.
"Simple, you caused an arms race and spilled thousands of soldiers' blood in doing so. This is an execution." He smiled maniacally.
I quickly reached back, attempting to break the chains that I was bound in. Realizing the effect they had on me, I stood up, and attempted to find myself some leverage to sever the bindings.
"Do it," the man in the middle laughed.
Slowly, the chains began to tighten. Two rotors were slowly reeling them in, it was clear to see that this was an attempt to remove both of my arms and tear me apart. I pulled back, recoiling to stop the ripping process, but the rotors spun faster than ever, dead set on the single task of tearing me to pieces. I clutched onto the cuffs tied to my hands, and pulled back reflexively, attempting to stop the chains from removing my arms. I couldn't use ki, and I couldn't power up either, this was a bad situation.
"Still alive?" The one in the middle mused, "I took you for more of a pussy, you got some balls though."
The machines spun faster and faster, I pulled harder and harder, I had to find a way out of this. I looked up and saw a light fixture, while it'd be hard, if I launched myself up there, and then severed the fixture, I could free myself, via a backwards kick into a rotor. Quickly, I executed my plan. The rotors increased in speed even more, and I pulled as hard as I could. I let go immediately, and kicked the fixture, launching debris into the rotor on the left. It cracked, and stopped pulling due to the impact. Quickly I pulled as much slack out as I could from the busted rotor, and then used the momentum of the opposite rotor to my advantage. I reached the top of the room in seconds, and quickly, several guards sprinted into the room, opening fire on me. I used my loose chained left arm to sweep guards off their feet. The next order of business for me was to find out how to free my right arm. The rotor was positioned just well enough that a simple high-kick wouldn't knock it out. So I adopted a different plan. Quickly, I flung one of the guards bodies into the rotor using my loose chain. Almost as quickly as it pulled, the rotor broke, sending me spiraling to the ground.
I landed, and then crouched down to stop myself from feeling the impact, but as quickly as I landed, the center stage opened up to reveal a large vat of gasoline. I fell in, as the representative in the middle laughed at the situation I was in. He lit a match, and dropped it slowly into the tub of gasoline, and quickly I thought of a way out. I pulled tightly onto one of the rotors, and sent it crashing down into the gasoline. It impacted the match, and quickly snuffed it out, and then I pulled the second rotor tight, sending it flying as well. I quickly jumped out of the gas, and landed just in front of the podium of representatives.
"Black, as of right you are an enemy of humanity," The middle representative smirked, "And I, Trex Glückspiel, will end you." He said, a large glaving forming in his hand.
Similar to Jared's glaive in length, his glaive was double edged, covered from top to bottom in spectrograms. One half of the glaive was green, and the other was purple. In the center, there lay a guard in the shape of a roulette table, and on either edge of the blade, were two suites, a heart and a spade.
He crashed to the ground, and a shockwave of flaming playing cards formed as his glaive pierced the ground. I jumped back, knowing that a single flame could spell the end for me. He pointed his glaive forward at me, and a large roulette wheel was launched towards me. I quickly dove out of the way, only to be met by another flaming shockwave. I lunged backwards, only to be met by his glaive point blank. He reeled it back, and then began to attempt to stab me. I quickly dodged and blocked with the cuffs still stopping me from using my power, and my hands. With every hit I blocked, I could feel the locks getting ever weaker. A single hit was all it took to break them out. He slammed his glaive down on me, and I cross guarded the vertical hit. My hands were free, but I watched in horror as a single spark fell onto the gasoline soaked ground. Instantly, an explosion cloaked the UN meeting hall, and several fake marionettes of elected officials slowly burnt, staining the air with their disgusting scent. But I was finally free. I took a deep breath, and my hair spiked red.
He brought the glaive down vertically, which I caught, and sent him flying off into the distance. He quickly recovered, and began to hover mid-air. Crashing onto the ground, launching a volley of electrified playing cards.
"You killed my son Black," He remarked evilly. "So I'll kill you in exchange."
"You're one sick motherfucker," I replied, remembering Nino's trauma.
Around us, a snowstorm began to pick up. We were on top of Mount Fuji, Trex and I clashing while raging snow lit up our clash.
"You're the son killer here. Everything I do, I do for Allistar." He mused, launching several roulette tables at me.
I dove, and narrowly avoided the spinning circles. I quickly fired back, using a holy light grenade. Trex was quick to spin his glaive and reflect it back at me. I quickly formed my own glaive using ki, and hit the grenade back at him once again. He responded by sending the holy light grenade flying up in the sky, after doing which, it detonated, sending several large clouds flying from the motion.
"Wow, so not even your will is your own? A pathetic ruler to be frank." I retorted, parrying his glaive, and sending it reeling to the ground.
"As if you have the power to rule, I make choices that protect others on the daily, you just kill for fun." He responded, kicking me into a nearby mountain wall.
"I don't need to rule to be a protector." I responded, readying a scythe, and then throwing it at him. Quickly, he kicked it upwards, and then followed it, ax kicking it downward at me. I rolled to the side, and then plucked it out of its impact crater. I spun around, and flung the thing back into him. He responded by grabbing it out of midair, and then launching it downward at me at blinding speeds. I was quickly knocked back from the impact, but all in all, I was ok.
"It's not about ruling, it's about doing what's right," he responded, launching forward, and nailing me with a punch to the gut. "Allistar will free the ultrimiteverse from pain. Everyone will be happy if he is given what he wants." He replied again, another punch to the gut forcibly launching upwards. "I loved my son, and you took that away from me." He responded, using a high kick to send me further upward. "Sure my son sided against me, but it's a fathers best interest to see his son happy, regardless of the path he chooses." An uppercut landing in my abdominal area, sending me further upward yet again. "But you killed him without a second thought," Trex continued, more and more punches lining my stomach. "Did it hurt you? Did you suffer? Were you impacted? What was your endgame?" He asked aggressively, flinging me downward to earth.
"My goal was to create a good world, one where justice is life." I replied, struggling to break from his grasp. "Your son didn't have justice, so he wasn't granted life." I respond to myself, my hair now pink.
"Justice isn't mindless manslaughter like you think, it actually takes time and skill to craft. It isn't something that is given, it is something that is taken, It's something that is earned for the righteous, and is something that is scorned by evil. My son wasn't evil, he was good, he deserved justice, but you stole away his life." Trex argued, increasing his speed almost a hundred times greater than it was before.
Quickly I was slammed into the debris of Eramis ship, Trex launched everything he had, glaive attacks, rockets, everything, but I held strong and guarded.
"You scarred an innocent girl for life, and you talk of justice as if you can cultivate it yourself." I scorned him, launching up from the crater he placed me in, and using a right cross to send him flying back.
"Everyone who was invited to that party was a sinner. They were purged because they were unjust, and besides, I'm an entity that brings karmic retribution, as soon as all those who are unjust are purged, I'll purge myself." He responded, kicking me hundreds of miles into the snow.
I quickly stood to my feet, ready to go.
"Oh yeah? And what DID the Nakano family do?" I asked the infuriated man.
Quickly Trex's businessman attire faded, his clothes now turning into that similar to Jared's. Purple armor, clad with green lights, and a large holster for his glaive. At his hip, a purple revolver, and opposite to that, a green revolver.
"Simple, they arrived at that party with the sole intention to sell off the Nakano girls to the highest bidder." He responded, using his palm to slam me into the ground.
"Oh, and why would he do that now?" I responded, flatfoot kicking him in the shin, making him collapse.
"Because they were dead weight. Five girls is an easy way to make money, especially if you can guarantee they're all the same. Their father, Maruno, had met up with several clients that day, and outright sold his kids to them. Is that just in your mind?" Trex argued, grabbing my leg, and sending me crashing into the debris of the ship.
"WHERE'S YOUR PROOF?" I shouted infuriated.
Trex quickly arrived at the ship, several monitors dropped from the ceiling, playing confessions of Maruno Nakano.
"I'll sell you one of the 5, in exchange, your company is mine," one recording spoke.
"I'll take all your stocks," another one droned.
"Your jet is top notch, I'll take that in exchange for one," spoke a third recording.
"I want all your contacts with the government," the fourth spoke.
"I'll auction her off tonight starting at 100 billion yen," the final one closed.
"See? It's undeniable proof of malice." Trex spoke powerfully.
"And? You're trying to justify causing trauma to a child." I responded.
"Nino Nakano knew of the siblings fate, but didn't do anything about it," Trex replied, spinning his glaive rapidly.
"Talk all you want about people I don't know, BUT TALK ABOUT SOMEONE I CARE ABOUT LIKE THAT," I said violently, my hair pulsing pink, "AND I'LL MAKE YOU SUFFER."
"It's true though. I, Trex Glückspiel, was given a single power to use to its maximum potency. That power... is the force of luck. Nino lost a hand of cards to me, and in exchange for her loss," He said, a monitor dropping down from the ceiling, this one detailing a young Nino.
"Yeah, it's sad that daddy is giving us away, but it's something we have to deal with," She spoke clearly, her voice a higher pitch due to her age.
"But... they're your family," Trex spoke adamantly.
"Yes, but they're just that, family, not anything special or important, everyone has one," Nino concluded.
The video stopped playing, and the monitor slowly lifted up into the ceiling and rafters.
"See, none of my victims are innocent, not even the girl I "traumatized," my goal is to use evil to cleanse evil, and then cleanse myself after all is said and done." Trex stated sternly.
"And? You still are using evil, that makes you a hypocrite." I responded.
"No, it's just paradoxical to use evil for good. The two are worlds apart, and I channel both into one, I am not good, I am evil. But that doesn't mean that I have to embrace that evil. Killing is wrong, but I do it for the good. I enjoy my job because it fulfills a promise I made long ago, but it's not as if I do this willingly." He concluded, shuffling several playing cards between his two hands.
Trex's green and purple armor meshed well with his wavy brown hair. He slowly donned a pair of glasses, and then made eye contact with me, his green eyes pulsed a single time, as if signifying a final clash, and then we lunged at each other.
Trex slammed his glaive down, attempting to break my skin with its edge, quickly I parried it with my slicer, diverting it to the side. It impacted with one of some of the debris of the ruined ship. Quickly, I honed a slicer with my opposite hand, and then jabbed at Trex with it.
"All this struggling, and for what? I've disproven every single motivation you have, you have no obligation to those you care about, and yet you still fight." He stated boldly, his glaive making pink sparks when it clashed with my slicer.
"Because I want to believe in what I want to believe in." I said, concentrating more on my power, "I don't know what justice is anymore, I killed Jared to find justice, but at the end of the day, I didn't find any at all. But I need something to believe in, and so I'll believe in the Nakano's, cause even when I had nothing, and even when I lost myself, they were there for me. So, I'll continue to fight, not for my sake," I uttered, my hair spiking even more than it had before, "but for theirs."
In a flash, several pink lightning bolts struck the mountains, slowly closing in on me. The snow began to cease, and slowly I could feel a pink ring begin to form above my head.
"Ageloid Praetor Access: Luck's End." Trex mumbled to himself.
Instantly I felt a pounding in my chest.
"BASTARD WHAT?" I shouted, collapsing to my knees and holding my chest in pain.
"I control luck Black, and yours just ran out." Trex smirked, watching me collapse in pain.
'Cardiac arrest? My organs are supposed to be perfect, then how?'
"Luck just boils down to basic calculations, and I control all forms of it, even when it comes to the body." He smirked, watching me slowly collapse and fall.
Almost as soon as I was out, I woke up. A pitch black void surrounded myself, and I could see Trex, clearly flustered at some object in the distance.
"But King!" Trex shouted at an unseen man.
"No." A commanding voice admonished.
"But after all he's done!" Trex tried to argue.
"I already said, don't make me repeat myself." The voice again admonished.
"I-yes my king," Trex gave up.
I quickly attempted to flare up my power, but it was useless.
"Black, that is your name right?" The man other than Trex asked.
"Indeed, now tell me why I'm bound, and untie me right now!" I demanded.
"Of course, but only on one condition." He voiced. "I want you to kill Epsilon- or as you may know her, Chaos, and then retrieve the Remnant of Reality from its resting place."
"That's easier said than done," I smirked.
"But, if you fail, your reality sickness will detonate, heavily damaging you." The unknown man prefaced.
"What?" I inquired.
"That's all for now, goodbye," The man finally showing his face smiled. Atop his head, a gold crown, and white hair, with heterochromatic red and blue eyes.
Instantly the world around us faded, and I awoke, in a clearing, before me I saw no one else but a little girl in a nun's outfit.
