Lily let her mom off the hook after lunch, the young girl received a phone call from one of her friends and went to sit in the swing on the porch while she spoke. Her mom was relieved, not that she didn't like telling their story to her daughter, but she had things to do and phone calls to make.

After 3 hours of working, she was interrupted by a black-haired head popping through the door.

"Are you almost done?" the young girl gave her a toothy smile, her mom took out her reading glasses and smiled.

"Did you finish the movie, already?" she asked, Lily nodded energetically. Her mom let a long breath out and closed her laptop, resigned to having no more work done today.

"Ok, Lilypad, it's nice out, let's sit outside" She walked to the kitchen, served 2 portions of ice cream, and sat with her daughter on the porch. It was a beautiful afternoon, the sun was shining over the water and the breeze was cool. "Ok, let's pick up the story on the day you were born"

"No, wait! Tell me when you found out I was going to be a girl!!" Lily requested, excited with her mouth full of strawberry ice cream, her favorite.

Due to past events, Emma's visits to the doctor were every 2 weeks for the last 4 months. Alex thought that Emma was going to be over the edge with this pregnancy, but Emma was calmer, of course at the beginning she was nervous but after a few weeks, it was like somehow she knew this time everything was going to be ok, it was like her own body knew this time everything was different.

When the symptoms of the pregnancy began, Emma was over the moon, she knew she must seem crazy to Alex, but every time that she couldn't keep her breakfast down she was reminded that a life was forming inside of her. That lasted for about a month, then she regretted wishing for these hellish symptoms, she just wished the morning sickness and the repugnance at the color tan will go away.

Emma and Alex were so excited on their way to the Dr. the day that they were about to find out the sex, Ana wanted to be there as well, but she was on a business trip in North Florida and was unable to make it.

"Are you ready to know?" Dr. Stinson asked them with a warm smile on her lips, she knew the couple was dying to know.

"Yes!" they both said at the same time.

"You are going to have a beautiful baby girl!" Alex's hands went to her face immediately to hide her big grin, she was overwhelmingly happy with the news. Emma was smiling so big and rubbing the top of her belly.

"A girl!" said Alex, giving her attention to her fiancée. "We are going to have a girl!!" she said before filling Emma's face with sweet kisses.

"Oh my god, a girl!" Emma said between sobs, they didn't have a preference, they just wanted their baby to be healthy, but now hearing that they were having a girl, they couldn't be happier, it was perfect. Emma imagined a baby girl with hair just like Alex's bouncing around their house calling for their mommas and Alex imagined teaching a little girl, with honey-colored eyes, how to ride a bike. They couldn't picture having a boy now, they were having a baby girl.

They discussed how to tell everybody, they were so happy they wanted to publish it in the newspaper, but who read the newspaper anymore? Emma was against having a gender reveal party, Alex agreed, so, in the end, they decided to create a video conference with everybody close in their lives, Alex was so thrilled that she didn't even oppose having Nate on the video conference. She understood that Nate was important in Emma's life and if she was completely honest, now that he didn't have a romantic interest in the love of her life, the dude wasn't a complete moron.
