Walking out of Audrey's store I immediately pull out my phone and call Serena.

Bad idea?

Probably.

But I need to talk to her anyway, I might as well divulge the ins and outs of our first meeting as well.

"Hi daddy." The voice on the other side of the phone is not Serena.

I laugh when I hear Serena in the background chasing after Felix. 

"Hi Bug! What are you doing? Where's Mummy?" 

"Mommy is ah! Noooo I wanna talk to daddy!" Felix whines. "Hi Harry. Sorry. You can talk to Daddy in a little bit, he'll call to say goodnight before you go to bed."

"Everything okay over there?" I walk through the narrow snowy streets of the little town towards the house. 

Serena sighs, "Yeah, it's been a long day, Alex and I got into a stupid fight about something so it's been kinda tense all day. Felix is grumpy and he misses you and you know how that goes. So yeah long day. Everything okay over there, you get settled in okay?" 

I frown hearing her words. I lock the door behind me and toe off my shoes before making my way to the couch. "S, I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do? Don't worry about me everything's fine over here promise."

"No, no it's okay, tell me about your day! Why'd you call hm?" I hear a smile in her words. 

I blow out a large breath and laugh. 

"She's really pretty..." I say quietly.

I hear a loud squeal over the phone in response. 

Here we go...

"I knew it! Oh my god I kneeew it!" She taunts.

"Okay, okay we get it. All I said was she's pretty, let's slow down."

"Tell me everything right now!" She demands with a laugh.

"I was walking around town, just taking everything in, it got a little windy so I walked into this little record store, it was so cool looking I couldn't not go inside. Basically it seemed like no one was there so I called out and got no answer. The next thing I know, Audrey is slamming into me, rushing out a bunch of apologies." Serena snorts at this. "She realized who I was before I did and she just kinda froze. Uh after that I hugged her and then her boyfriend popped up." Serena groans this time. 

"I don't think he liked me very much, but uh, yeah something weird was going on there so I left and told her I'd see her soon." I finish softly. 

"Mm, that's Max for you. But aw! You guys finally had your meet cute! This is so exciting!" 

"Serena please." I laugh, but my chest tightens. 

I don't want to get my hopes up about anything. I can't.

"You guys should go out for coffee or something! At least get acquainted before Christmas. She's coming over for dinner by the way. She always does." She suggests.

"She is? I think I'll stop by her store tomorrow and see what she's up to." I offer knowing Serena will plan something if I don't.

"Ah! I'm so glad you guys finally met! She's my favorite person ever."

"Hey, what about me?"

"You're different H. No one could ever replace you." She sings sweetly with a laugh. 

We talk some more and she confesses that the fight her and Alex got into was about Audrey. Or well how involved Serena is in Audrey's love life. 

As long as I've known Serena she's loved playing cupid, she believes she was meant to be a matchmaker.
