Epilogue  (2/5)

Harry Styles 

(this is set two years after the last chapter!) 

"Remember when we got married?" Audrey whispers wistfully 

"I do, wasn't that long ago baby." I eye her amused.

Audrey sighs, "I really never ever thought I'd get that." She shifts against the headboard of our bed. "It was such a perfect day, I didn't think something so special would happen to me."

I turn to face her more in bed, the both of us speaking softly, being mindful of the sleeping newborn on her chest.

"I'm so glad I moved here." I say instead of addressing her previous words.

She tilts her head in question.

"I wasn't gonna leave. I didn't want to leave El..."

"You didn't wanna leave him with your dad?" I watch as she readjusts the baby's head into the crook of her elbow as she moves to sit up some more against the headboard.

I sit up with her, nodding my head, "I was scared. I didn't want him to resent me, or have my dad turn him against me. I wanted him to have it better than I did." I explain letting my eyes watch Audrey in front of me in awe. 

This feels different.

"But? What changed your mind?"

"I found an old journal of my mum's." I say softly, "She basically wrote every single day of her life in those journals. I flipped through it one day and I saw she wrote to me. Turns out the journal I had found was the last one she ever wrote in, the page was dated about a week before she passed." I clear my throat, not wanting to get too emotional. "She basically told me to look out for Elliot, y'know, the usual mum stuff... but she also made me promise to go after my dreams. She didn't want me to stay stuck there with my dad. So I packed my shit and I left."

I lean towards her and press a kiss to her lips softly, "Best decision of my entire life."

She smiles and runs her hand through my hair, "You look like a right mess baby." She whispers with a giggle. 

"Hey! And here I was about to tell you that actually the best decision of my entire life was marrying you but okay, guess I'll just go fuck right off then." I tease. 

"Hey! Tiny ears! You can't say that!" She gasps like she's offended.

I look at her blankly, "Her ears don't work right now. It's fine." 

Audrey blinks at me. "Harry. Her ears do work."

I sigh and snuggle up next to the two of them, "Well, yeah... s'not like she can talk though." Before she can say anything I perk up, "Hey we should do it again!"

"Do what again?" Audrey says through a yawn. 

"Get married." 

"Again?"

I shrug in a sleepy haze, "Why not?"

"Was the first one not good enough for you?" She asks teasingly.

"Noo, just want the kids there, that's all. And then I'd get to see you in a pretty white dress and tell everyone how much I love you and that you're mine forever." I ramble half asleep.

I hear the baby gurgle, "See! She agrees with me baby, now we have to." 

"Don't bring Ivy into this H, I need one of our kids to be on my side. And besides, Clove was there, we just didn't know and Felix was there too."
