"L-Lauren...?" She whispered, her eyes wide and her face completely pale.

"Is that really you?"

I nodded, still smiling sheepishly.

"Yeah, it's me."

She stood there, looking like she didn't know if this was a prank or something. She stepped back, shaking her head, looking at all of our faces. "This can't be real..."

I felt a wave of guilt wash over me as I realized she had had to endure seven long months of news that I was either missing or dead.

Wow.

I snapped back to reality as I realized she had started to cry. A pang hit me in the heart hard, and I immediately ran over to her and wrapped my arms around her, my head buried in her chest. As she cried and hugged me back, I felt a lump form in my throat, and a felt a few tears escape.

This wasn't going too well. At least for me.

"Where have you been?!" She asked me, her words bring muffled by my hair.

Oh this part was the hardest.

"Um...I've been to...places."

She pulled away from me, looking me in the eyes. "What happened?" In sudden anger she turned to Amy, Rory, and the Doctor. "Did they do something to you?"

"No Mom! Calm down, they didn't-"

I was suddenly cut off by my mom running towards the Doctor, her posture menacing and angry. Everyone gasped as they were both sent to the floor.

"Mom!" Vicky screamed, looking horrified as my mom sent her fists into his face.

"Get off him!!" I screamed, appearing by their side as quickly as possible. I felt the familiar tingle. Finally, I could use it.

I felt my body strengthen as I grabbed my mother by the back of her shirt and lifting her up above the Doctor.

"Mom, you need to calm down."

"No!" She shouted, looking at down at him with murder in her eyes. I sighed.

"Mrs. Edwards?" The Doctor said, covering part of his mouth as he stood up. "You do realize that you are being carried by your..." He gave me a sad look. "...daughter?"

My mom stopped squirming for just a second and looked at me, her eyes wide.

"Oh my God..." She breathed, placing her hand softly over her own mouth. I set her down, sighing and running my hand through my hair.

"I have a lot of things to explain to you."

I finally finished telling the story, my mouth slightly dry and the tingling sensation was fading away. My two other siblings, Josh and Alexis had joined in the conversation, after the awkward hugs and whatnot. They both looked exactly my mother and Vicky, with their sandy hair and thin lips, and My 'mom' looked at me, calmed down and regal like she always was.

"So," she sighed, leaning back against the couch of the living room, looking around at everyone else that was seated. "You're not human?"

I shook my head. "No, I'm not. I'm actually from another planet." I looked at the Doctor, who had a few scars from my mom. "Right Doctor?"

He nodded. "From Planet Dirmoin. She is the last of her race." He looked down, fiddling with his thumbs. "Hmm."

"So what now?" Rebeca asked. "I mean, don't we have to stop the Cybermen? We should be going by now."

"We?" Amy asked, looking at Rebeca like she was crazy. "No, no, no, you kids can stay here. You aren't strong enough to handle Cybermen on your own."

"But you're not an alien!" Emma put in, quirking an eyebrow. "You can't defend yourself either!"

"Yeah, why do you get to go then?" Alice agreed, sounding a bit angry.

"Listen, listen," the Doctor said, looking at everyone. "You three," he pointed to Alice, Emma, and Rebeca. "Have to stay here. It's too dangerous for you to go with Cybermen nearly at every corner."

Emma sighed. "But why do they get to go then?" Her finger was pointed towards Amy and Rory.

"They don't belong here," I put in, keeping my eyes on my jeans. "They don't belong here in United States. They need to go to their home." I looked at Amy, who looked at me with the tiniest smile.

"So where will you guys go then?" Vicky asked, looking at the Doctor, Amy, Rory, and me. Josh and Alexis nodded in agreement.

"We'll be..." I took in a sharp breath. I looked at the Doctor. "In the Cybermen ship."

"No!" Alexis cried, her eleven-year-old voice bouncing off the beige walls. "You can't!"

"I have to do this," I put in, looking her straight in the eye. "I need to find out about myself. I have this power..." I took another sharp breath. "That I might not be able to control."

My mom sighed once again. "I can't believe I never knew about all this. I mean, you were different from all of us. I just...didn't want to accept the fact that you weren't my daughter because..." She gulped, trying to hold back tears. "...you are."

I smiled at her, and the Doctor looked at her.

"I assure you, Mrs. Edwards, you will always be Lauren's mother, no matter if you weren't her actual mother." He smiled at her, and she smiled back, teary-eyed.

"Well we should be going," Rory exclaimed, standing up. Everyone else did the same.

I walked to my mom as everyone else started to talk and gave her a hug.

"You know I'm going to have to leave forever right?" I mumbled into her shirt, my face pressed against the soft cloth.

"Yeah I know," she mumbled back. I snuggled in deeper. She sighed. "I don't want you to go. Despite you being alien and all...I still love you."

I looked up at her, and with a smile replied, "And I will always be your daughter."

I stood up on my tiptoes and gave her a kiss on her cheek.

"I love you."

She smiled down at me, silent tears falling down her cheeks. "And I will always love you, too."

I got out of her arms and gave a hug to Josh, Alexis, and Vicky.

"Be good okay?" I told Alexis. She nodded, trying to hold back tears.

"It's okay," I whispered to her, stroking her sandy blonde hair. "Everything is going to be okay."

That's what I hoped.
