"So where to now, Doctor?" I asked him, striding alongside him as he unlocked the TARDIS door. He looked at me as the door squeaked open.
"We're going back to the Cyberman ship," he answered, and swiftly entered the TARDIS. Amy, Rory, and I followed.
"How exactly are you planning to destroy that maniac's plan?" Amy put in. "We don't even know what it is!"
Rory closed the TARDIS door as the Doctor ran up to the control panel. He didn't look at Amy. "That's what we're trying to figure out."
"Well what would be the first thing a psycho villain would want?" Rory inquired. I looked at him, crossing my arms. "World domination? Control of everyone's minds?"
The Doctor continued fiddling with the controls, and after a few moments of silence the TARDIS started. He lifted up his head, not looking at anybody and just staring at the control panel.
"Doctor?" Amy asked, walking up the stairs and standing behind him, her arms crossed.
He breathed a sigh as he slowly turned around to face her. "I know what he wants. And it's all my fault."
"What is it, Doctor?" I asked him, walking to where Amy stood while Rory followed close behind me. My stomach started to churn. Why won't the Doctor just tell us what that maniac wanted? And how was whatever it was his fault?
He looked straight into my eyes, something in his that made my entire body freeze in fear. Those eyes...they were old eyes. Wise eyes, eyes that had seen and experienced so much. Eyes that told me he wasn't just a crazy alien man that travelled around the universe saving people and aliens from harm. He was a crazy alien man that travelled the universe because he has seen so many things, so many things that he never wants anyone else anywhere to experience.
I felt my chest tighten, and I gasped. How did I get so much just by looking into his eyes?
They all looked at me like I had just grown another head.
"Are you alright?" Rory asked. I nodded, breathing heavily.
"I'm fine, just a little light-headed..." I murmured.
They stared at me in concern for a few more seconds before they turned back to the Doctor.
"Doctor, what is it?" Amy asked softly. "What is your fault?"
He hesitated, taking a deep breath. Then he finally spoke, his head down.
"He wants to kill Lauren for her power."
Amy gasped, and Rory's eyes went wide. I couldn't feel anything.
"Well there's no way he's getting to her!" Amy exclaimed angrily. "Not while I'm alive!"
I blushed, a goofy grin spreading across my face. Amy didn't seem like a protective type, but her being protective over me was pretty awesome.
"T-thanks Amy..." I stammered, still blushing. She looked at me, not smiling, but nodded.
"So now what's going to happen?" Rory asked, crossing his arms. The Doctor groaned in frustration.
"I don't know!" He shouted, holding up his hands. "I've been trying to figure out how to fix this for seventeen years! I don't know what to do!!"
There was a suprised silence, all of us staring at the Doctor in shock. I could already tell that if the Doctor didn't know what to do, no one knew what to do.
Crap.
What were we going to do??
Suddenly, an idea popped into my head. I stood up straighter, the insanity of my idea sending my heart beating.
