How had it gone so fast?

It seemed like only a second ago we were just meeting, now we were saying good-byes.

Amy gave me a tight hug, a hug that I didn't want to let go of. I just didn't want to leave.

Amy's hazel eyes looked into mine as we parted. "Are you sure you'll be alright, kid?"

I nodded. "I can handle myself."

She smiled, but I could still see the sadness in her eyes. "I'm going to miss you, Lauren."

My heart did a dive. Amy was going to miss me?

I smiled a shy smile. "I'm going to miss you too. You've been a great friend."

She gave a smirk. "Of course. Who wouldn't miss me?"

I rolled my eyes, a bigger smile on my face. "Whatever."

She laughed. "You Americans are always so funny."

I laughed along with her. "Well, that's the benefits of living in the States. You should try it some time."

"I will try, Lauren."

I smiled, and gave her one last big hug. "I'm going to miss you, Amy."

"Me too." Suddenly, I felt her mouth by my ear, and I stood still as she whispered words into my ears.

"Find River."

My eyes went wide as we parted. What did she mean? Who was River?

I opened my mouth to ask her, but that's when the Doctor came to me.

"Well, Lauren, we should be going!" he announced. I stared on, still baffled by Amy's words.

"I-I..." I stuttered. I shook my head clear. Whatever she means, I'll figure it out later. "I'm going to miss you both."

Rory and Amy smiled at me. "We'll miss you, too, Lauren." Rory answered.

I gave him a last hug, smiling at him as we parted. "Thanks for everything. And thanks especially for not getting mad at me tackling you..."

He waved it off with a small smile. "Don't worry about it. I'm fine anyways."

I smiled back at him. "Thanks. I'll miss you."

He nodded. "Same here."

The Doctor gently put his hand on my shoulder, smiling at Amy and Rory as we started to go down the front steps.

"We'll see you sometime," the Doctor said, and put his hand to his head in a salute.

We all laughed. That's when we turned around, crossing the street towards the TARDIS. While the Doctor opened the door, I looked back, and saw that now only Amy stood at the front door. She mouthed the same words she said to me.

Find River.

I stared at her, and responded with a serious nod. She nodded back, and with one last parting wave, she closed the door.

I stared on. What was that? Who was River? How am I supposed to find her if I have no idea who she is?

I took a deep breath, and with one last look at her adorable house, I stepped inside the TARDIS. The Doctor already had it started, and as I slowly shut the door, he walked down the steps toward me.

"So where to, now?" he asked me. "We can go anywhere in time and space." With an adorable mischevious grin on his face that sent me weak at the knees, he threw his hands in the air, waving them around as he motioned around the rest of the TARDIS. "Where do you want to start??"

I laughed. "Hm...that's a hard decision..."

He looked down, and I watched as something twinkled in his eyes. "Wait, I think I have something for you." He ran towards the control panel, flipping switches and levers and pressing buttons. He looked at me with a secretive smile as I walked up the steps to join him.

"I know you'll like this one," he said, using great emotion to mess with the last of the levers. The TARDIS landed, and an excited look fell upon his face.

"Where are we?"

"You'll see," he smiled, and ran towards the door, grabbing my hand and dragging me along the way.

I laughed as I followed him, trying to keep up with his long legs. How he managed to be so attractive while being such a dork was well beyond me.

He stood at the door, hand on the knob. "Are you ready?"

I nodded impatiently. "Yeah, now just open the door already!"

With great difficulty he suppressed a giant grin. Finally, after what seemed like forever, he finally pushed open the door.

"HERE WE ARE!!" he shouted. I gasped. In shock I turned around to him.

"You didn't!"

He really couldn't contain his grin. "Oh, yes, I remembered."

"This...this is..." I stammered, trying hard to talk as I took a step outside the TARDIS. How had he remembered??

"Amazing?!" he gleefully exclaimed. He locked the TARDIS door, and walked up behind me. "Where do you want to go?"

I just looked at him. He remembered exactly where I wanted to go, and even wanted to give me the pleasure of having it as a surprise?

Wow.

Without hesitation, I turned around and wrapped my arms around him, keeping my grip tight. How I loved him, as a brilliant friend, as someone I wanted to be with. I knew he was different, there was something that I loved about him the moment I met him, something in the way he spoke, talked, thought, I just couldn't leave. I smiled into his coat as I realized that he was stroking my hair, which felt amazing at the moment. I didn't want go anywhere.

We finally parted, him smiling down at me with that smile.

"Are you ready to explore?" he said to me, his accent sending chills once again down my spine. With a mischevious smile, I kept my eyes on his as I grabbed his hand.

"I'm always ready."

He smiled even bigger. Then he turned around and yelled at the top of his lungs,

"WELCOME TO PARIS!"
