I take a deep breath as I step into the bathroom, my bag slung over my shoulder, the sound of running water and shuffling feet echoing through the small space. It's Luau Day at Dunder Mifflin, and Michael has gone all out with the decorations and activities. He even rented a pool for the occasion.
As I change into my swimsuit in one of the three stalls, I can hear the muffled sounds of my coworkers doing the same in the adjacent stalls. But my mind is focused on one person in particular: Dwight. The thought of him in his swimsuit makes me gulp out loud. I've had a crush on him for a while now, and seeing him in such a revealing outfit has me feeling more nervous than excited. But at the same time, I can't help but imagine how incredible he's going to look.
I can just see it now... Dwight coming out of the pool all glistening from the water, his small tummy sticking ever so slightly out, his eyes scanning everyone with such intensity...
I feel myself going weak in the knees just thinking about it. I take a deep breath and try to shake off the thoughts, focusing instead on changing as quickly as possible.
Just then, I hear a knock on the door. "Jim, hurry up!" It's Stanley, impatient as always.
"Almost done," I call back, my heart pounding in my chest.
Finally, I finish changing and step out of the stall, bracing myself for the sight of Dwight in his swimsuit. I can feel my face flushing with anticipation as I make my way out of the bathroom and towards the pool area.
As I walk out, my eyes are immediately drawn to the colorful decorations and people dressed in their Hawaiian outfits. I see Oscar in a grass skirt and Angela wearing a hibiscus flower in her hair. Even Michael is wearing a coconut bra and a grass skirt, trying to embody the full luau spirit. My coworkers are all dressed in their colorful swimsuits and leis, sipping on fruity drinks and chatting with one another. I do my best to avoid looking at the pool, not wanting to risk catching a glimpse of Dwight.
Pam waves me over, interrupting my thoughts. She's wearing a bright blue bikini that shows off her body, and she's talking to Roy. As I approach, I can feel his eyes on me, his jealousy palpable. I try to make small talk with Pam, my eyes darting around nervously, trying not to look in Dwight's direction.
"So, uh, nice day for a pool party, huh?" I say, trying to sound casual.
Pam smiles and nods. "Definitely! I love the decorations, they did a great job."
Roy scoffs and mutters something under his breath. I can tell he's still jealous of me and Pam's friendship, even though I'm not interested in her that way.
Roy gives me a once-over before turning back to Pam. "So, Pam, you want to go grab a drink?"
Pam hesitates for a moment, glancing over at me. "Actually, Roy, I was thinking of going for a swim."
Roy looks disappointed, but nods his head. "Sure, whatever you want."
"Jim, do you want to join me?" Pam asks playfully, and I feel Roy tensing in anger.
"Uh...no thanks. I'm good." I say quickly, trying to avert my gaze from the pool as much as possible.
"Oh. Okay then," She says in a disappointed tone. As Pam walks away, I can feel Roy's eyes on me. I try to ignore him, focusing instead on the decorations around us. It's impressive how much effort Michael put into this party.
"You know, Jim, I wouldn't get too comfortable around here," Roy sneers. "People can get the wrong idea."
I roll my eyes, not wanting to engage in his childish behavior. "Thanks for the warning, Roy."
