I sit at my desk at Dunder Mifflin, staring at my computer screen but not really processing anything. All I can think about is Dwight. My sweet, loving, werewolf boyfriend. I know most people in this town would be repulsed by him, would see him as nothing but a monster. But not me. To me, he's just Dwight. And I love him more than anything in this world.
I remember the first time I found out about Dwight's condition. It was terrifying learning that the man I had been dating for a month was really a...werewolf. My whole life that name has conjured up images of violent, terrifying monsters. But the more time we spent together, the more it didn't matter to me that he turned into a werewolf once a month, or that his family had been ostracized from this town for generations. All that mattered was that he was Dwight, and I was lucky enough to have him in my life.
I cook him all his favorite types of meat, and love to play fetch with him. And on the full moon, I help chain him up in the backyard so that he won't hurt anyone. I know he recognizes my scent even when he's transformed, because he's never violent towards me. It's like he knows that I'm the one person who accepts him for who he is.
But it's hard, being with Dwight. Werewolves are treated like second-class citizens, and there are people who hate them just because of what they are. People in this town can be cruel, and they don't hesitate to make their feelings about werewolves known. Dwight's family is the only family of werewolves in this town, and everyone knows to stay away from the Schrutes. It breaks my heart to see him be treated like he's less than human, when in reality he's one of the kindest, most compassionate people I've ever known.
I take a deep breath, trying to push away the sadness that's creeping in. But my mind keeps drifting back to Dwight, to the way he looks when he's happy, the way his eyes light up when he talks about something he's passionate about. I know that I'm lucky to have him, and I'll do anything to protect him from the world that sees him as a monster.
I glance over at Dwight, who's sitting next to me, his leg bouncing up and down. He's been restless for the past few days, and I can't help but feel a bit worried. "Hey, you okay?" I ask him, placing my hand on his knee.
He looks over at me, his eyes dark and intense. "I'm fine," he says, but his voice is strained, and I can tell that he's not being completely honest with me.
"Dwight, come on. Talk to me," I say gently, giving his knee a reassuring squeeze.
He lets out a deep sigh and turns to face me. "It's just... I don't know. I feel like something's coming, you know?" he says, his eyes flickering with anxiety.
I furrow my brow, trying to understand what he means. "Something? Like what?"
"I don't know. It's like this... this feeling in my gut. Like something big is going to happen, and I'm not sure if I'm ready for it," he says, his voice low and serious.
I reach out and take his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Hey, whatever it is, we'll face it together. I'm here for you, okay? Always."
Dwight smiles weakly, and I can feel the tension in his body start to ease. "Thanks, Jim," he says, squeezing my hand. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
I smile back at him, feeling my heart swell with love. Despite everything, I know that I'm lucky to have Dwight in my life. He's my best friend, my confidante, and the love of my life.
As I sit there, lost in my thoughts of Dwight, Andy's voice cuts through the silence from his desk next to ours. "Hey guys, we need to get back to work. I know you two lovebirds could chat all day, but we've got a quota to meet," he says, smirking at us.
Dwight visibly bristles at the comment, his eyes narrowing in annoyance. But I just chuckle and shake my head, pulling my hand away from Dwight's. "Right, sorry about that Andy. I'll get back to work now," I say, picking up the phone and dialing a number.
