After a short nap, Felix became bored and decided to go explore the magnificent palace, he of course tried to avoid restricted areas. He was met with beautiful decoration littered around the halls. The whole palace had an aesthetic of gold and black, a combination Felix never thought was so beautiful before now.
There were also royal guards placed everywhere, Felix guessed it was because of his visit, if anything happened to him, that streak of no war for 15 years in Amorite would have been lost.
The crown prince was walking aimlessly until he came across 2 opened double glass doors that seemed to lead outside, the moonlight washing in and reflecting on the marbled floors. Felix walked outside and was met with a breathtaking sights. It was a garden of sorts, it had a small fountain, two trees that stood tall on the further side of the garden, a maze like wall surrounding the place and flower beds lined the garden, purple hyacinths being the most common it seemed. There were also orchids, bluebells and roses. It was the most amazing thing Felix had seen since he got here. And seeing it now, he knew it would already be his favourite place.
"Seems you found the garden." A voice startled Felix as he turns around, eyes once again meeting the king's dark orbs. Felix would never get use to being looked at with those black eyes.
"Um, yes. I hope I'm not overstepping your majesty, I wanted to explore the palace, which is beautiful by the way." Felix released a breath, slowly so it was unnoticed by the king, but he still heard it.
"No, do not worry, the garden is one of my favourite places to spend time. My mother spent most her days here." Chan looked reminiscent as if he was visualising his mother right now, he seemed distraught.
However, at the mention of the late queen, Felix stiffened and it was noticeable to Chan. He sighed, knowing Felix must have already heard rumours about how he supposedly murdered his parents. Chan actually had the stupid belief that Felix wouldn't listen to them. It seems he did though.
"It seems you've heard." He voiced he thoughts and Felix suddenly felt really small, and a little scared if he was honest.
"I-I don't know w-what you're talking about sire" he tried, but he couldn't hide it, especially because of his stutter.
"Don't believe everything you hear, not everything is true. Especially in a world like this when monsters aren't under your bed but inside the people you see." And the he left.
Felix now wanted the earth to swallow him, how could he be so careless in his reactions. But, what did Chan mean when he said monsters are inside people. And not to believe everything he hears. Could it be possible... no, the whole kingdom thinks otherwise. But Felix didn't want to automatically assume the king was bad, he didn't want to jump to conclusions and pin him as a murderer. He wasn't the type of person to do that, he always saw good in the worst of people. He didn't even realise how bad that was sometimes.
Once Chan left the garden, he stood at the window and continued staring at the prince, there was a feeling in his heart the moment he saw Felix. But then he ripped that feeling out with his bare hands and burned it to ashes. No one should be near him. Ever. He'll only destroy lives.
The constant pressure he felt pressing down on his throat once again, choking him until he was gasping for breath returned. He needed water, now! He ran to the nearest kitchen which just so happened to be the main one. The head chef seeing the king with a red face and holding his throat hurried to hand him some water.
This was a normal occurrence, when the king suddenly can't breath and the chef, always had water in reach. Kim Seungmin never knew the reason but of course he couldn't ask. But that didn't mean it wasn't extremely worrying.
