CHAPTER VI: The Beginning Of Our Story

"Hey, you guys are so late, we've been waiting for so long." Siya complained. "Sorry, we got caught up in traffic and then there's was no palce for parking. Infact Manish went to find some other place to park his car." "Oh okay, well meet her she's Kayra, my bestfriend, and Kayra this is Yug." Siya introduced us. "Hi" "Hi" we said together. A moment of silence surrounded us. "Oh my my, what a timing. Something something or whatt." Siya teases us with a big laugh. "Shut up." I said. "Okay okay, sorry. Where are we going by the way?" Siya asked. "I thought we could go to that Chinese restaurant over there, it serves great food plus it has nice ambience." Yug said pointing to the restaurant. "Good food, good ambiance my ass, say that it's your favourite restaurant and it's the only one near us." Siya said irritated. "Language Siya! What is all this." Yug said in a bit anger yet calmly. "Whatever Yug, let's go then I'll text Manish he'll join us there." Siya said holding my hand and moving towards the restaurant.

"Hi!" a male voice came from behind. When I turned around I saw a guy, it was Manish. I've never actually met him I've only heard about him as Siya couldn't stop talking about him. Manish was an average looking boy and was approx the same height of Yug, or I guess an inch below. He had a bit dark complexion with long hair and little beard on his face. Honestly, I don't know how Siya ended up with him. "Hey there you are, we were waiting for you." Siya said hugging him. "Ugh it's such a busy day I couldn't find a parking area, well aren't you gonna introduce me to your friend?" Manish said removing her hand from his arm. "Umm yaa, Kayra this is my boyfriend Manish, and Manish this is Kayra." Siya introduced us uncomfortably as Manish leaned his hands towards me for a handshake. "Hii Kayra, you're very pretty." Manish said with a wired smile. "Hi!" I said and immediately removed my hand from his. "Uhh Manish why don't you come sit with me, I need to tell you something." Yug said as he saw me uncomfortable with Manish. "Yeah sure."

I sat with Siya and both the boys sat infront of us. Offcourse Yug sat infront of me and we had alot of eye contacts. A weird but good feeling ran through my body giving me butterflies whenever we had an eye contact. I was pretty sure I had something for him, I don know what but it was a good feeling . "What do you want to eat?" Yug asked me. "Umm anything, whatever everyone will have. I like Chinese so whatever you'll order I'll have it." I replied with a smile. "Aren't you gonna ask us about what we want to eat? I mean you're not planning on treating Kayra only?" Manish said with a wink. "No, I know that you guys can order food on your own as you've been here alot of time." Yug replied with a stare. We ordered our food and sat in an awkward silence for few minutes when Siya started the conversation. "So guys, we actually have brought both of you here to talk and know each other, so I think Manish and I should shift to another table so that you guys can talk." She said looking at Yug and me. "No there's no need for that." I said staring at her. "Actually that won't be a bad idea, I mean if you don't mind Kayra." Yug said looking at me. "Okay then we'll see you guys later, and don't worry Kayra I'm on the next table." Siya said moving with Manish to the next table behind us.

"So how are you?" Yug said looking at me. "I'm good, what about you?" I'm a very talkative person but here it felt like I've lost all the words, I didn't know what to say. "I guess Siya must have told you alot about me and the fact that I liked you so I wanted to meet you." He said. "We'll yess, she did." "Doesn't this feels like that we're having an arranged marriage and people have sent us alone to talk?" Yug said smiling. "Isn't it, oh god I was thinking the same thing. I mean does it has to be this awkward." I said laughing. "Well are you on social media, you can add me there so that I can follow you." Yug asked. "Yaa, wait. This is my I'd, you can follow me." I said with a smile. We kept talking for another fifteen minutes when our food arrived. We spoke about our interests, our families, our life, our studies. Yug and I had alot in common, he was a year senior to me, he lived with his mom, his father died two years ago in an accident and his elder sister was working in Bangalore. He was a really sweet guy. I couldn't remember one time when I was not smiling while talking to him.

"Hey guys, are you done?" Siya asked. She seemed a bit off, maybe she had an fight with Manish, because he looked irritated too. "Hey, yaa we were just talking." Yug said. "Come sit." I said calling Siya to sit next to me. "No, I think we should leave, it's past our school time, Kayra you'll be late. Remember Rey, he said to reach on time outside the school." She said. "Oh shoot I didn't realise it was late, I think we should leave." I said. "Is your brother coming to pick you up? Or should we drop you guys home?" Yug asked. "No he'll be coming to pick me up. But thankyou." I said with a smile. "Okay. Siya come, we'll drop you." He said bit disappointed as he wanted me to drop home too. "Well you can join us tomorrow, we have our fest tomorrow. I'll get you guys the passes." Siya said excited as she wanted Yug and me to spend more time. "That'll be a great idea, we'll be there right Manish? Youg said excited. "Are you also performing Kayra?" Yug asked me. "Yes, we're performing together." I replied. "Then we'll definately be there, don't worry." Manish said getting up from his chair. "But when I asked you, you said you'll see if you have time." Siya said disappointed. "Ya, I am busy, but Yug wants to go so I'll come with him." Manish said. Siya gave him a stare. We moved of the restaurant and said bye to each other. I was walking towards the school gate when I turned back to see if he was gone. He was standing there, as if he was waiting for me to turn. We smiled at each other, and went on in our ways.

Rey came to pick me up and asked me about Yug. "So how was the guy you met today?" "Umm he was nice, and his name is Yug. He was actually very handsome you know, when I met him he was so good to me, infact we have so many things in common, we like the same colour, same sport, we both love adventures, but he has no interest in cultural side. But he reads, I don't know if that's true but he said so. I think I like him Rey." I said lying back on my seat. "Really? You got all of that in one meeting." He asked. "Ya, I mean he felt like a love at first sight thing. I don't know. We'll he's coming to the fest tomorrow." "Oh nice, I can meet him then." He said in a not so good excited way. Well I wasn't in a mood to think about Rey, because all I could think about was Yug, his face, his smile, his eyes. I couldn't wait to meet him again. We reached home and I went to my room for a quick shower. After dinner I was lying on my bed when I got Siya's text.

"Heyy, awake?"

"Yess" i replied.

"So did you liked him? What did you guys spoke about? Tell me everything." She texted with all love and laughing emojis.

"Yaa he was good, I guess I like him. Is he coming tomorrow? You know he took my number but he hasn't called or texted."

"He must be out, maybe that's why, but look at you all excited and all. Don't worry he'll be there tomorrow, you can directly meet him. Now go sleep, don't forget we have a performance tomorrow, you need to rest. Goodnight babe."

"Ya, you're right, and I'm not excited just curious. Okay bye, goodnight."

I kept my phone aside, and closed my eyes, Yug was all that was running in my mind at that time. He'll be there when I'll perform, I've to look good, I've to perform well, and.. I slept as I closed my eyes.
