CHAPTER VII: High School Annual Fest

"Kayra, are you awake? Kayra? Oh god what do I do about her" Mom shouted. "What happened? Why are you shouting early morning." Rey said. "Look at your sister, she's still asleep." "But mom it's just eight o'clock. She has to reach school by ten." Rey said brushing his teeth. "I'm so fed up with both of you, she has her performance today she should wake up early get a little ready with her hair and everything." I heard both of them as they were standing right outside my room and talking on top of their voices. God! Why do they have to start early morning. Ugh! I picked up my phone to check if Yug had texted me or if Siya was awake, and I saw two whatsapp notifications. I opened it and saw Yug's texts.

"Hey, good morning. I guess you're still asleep, I just texted to wish you luck for your performance☺️. Sorry couldn't text you yesterday I was out with my friends."
There was one more message which read, "I'll see you at the fest. Also text me when you reach school. Bye." His text brought a big smile on my face. I immediately replied, "Good morning, I just woke up. Thankyou for your wish☺️. I've to reach school by ten, I'll text you when I'll reach." He immediately read my message, was he waiting for me to reply? I smiled more.

"Oh, I hope my message didn't wake you up." He texted back.

"No it was my mom shouting on top of her lungs." I replied with laughing emojis.

"Haha, well now that you're awake you should probably get going with your preparations I guess."

"Preparations? It's a simple performance not an exam. I replied laughing.

"No, I meant makeup and all, I've heard girls take an hour to get ready and certainty you have one and a half hours left. Right?" He texted with some emojis.

"You've been hearing alot of wrong things about girls my friend. And trust me I'm no such girl. Don't worry you'll get to know me."

"Well, I'm waiting to know you more."
I smiled, maybe I was little shy by his text. He leaves no chance to make me smile. I can't wait to see him again. I texted him with a smily, and opened my call log to call Siya. "Hey, you awake?" I asked as soon as she picked up her call. "No, why you're awake so early, it's just wait, eight-thirty." She said in a sleepy voice. "Well, forget that and wake up now, we've to reach school by ten, and you've to get ready with hair makeup everything. Come on wake up sleepyhead." I said. "Ya, fine. I'll get going see you at the school. Bye." "Okay bye." I connected my phn to the charger and got up to get ready.

"Mom can you come here for a minute?" I said in a hurry. "What is it? You're not ready?" She said coming to my room. "This hair pin, it's not going in my hair, can you please help with this I'm getting late now." "I told you, you'll get late, that's why I was waking you up, but your brother, uff" she said while making my hair. "I'm almost ready mom, it's just my hair it keeps coming out, oher than that I'm all ready." "Here done. Look is it fine now?" She said looking me at the mirror. "Yes, it's perfect. Thanks mom." I said hugging her. "Okay okay, Reyansh will drop you, good luck." She said. "Thanks mom, and please be there on time. I really want dad and you to watch me perform there." I said looking at her. "Don't worry I've told your father, we'll be there before your performance. Now go you'll be late." "Bye mom, bye dad. Don't be late." I waved them while getting in the car. "Thanks Rey for dropping me, see you. And please bring mom and dad on time." I said getting out of the car. "Ya don't worry, just focus on your dance and have fun. Goodluck." He said smiling. "Thanks, bye."

"Hey where are you? I've reached." I called Siya. "I'm already at school, come directly to our classroom I'm there only." She said and disconnect the call. As I walked to my class everyone kept looking at me as if I was some alien from another planet. Am I wearing too much makeup or what? Is my dress wrong, why's everyone staring? Ah, maybe I'm looking too beautiful, ugh whom am I fooling. I kept thinking and went to my class. "Hey...." I said as I entered the class and was shocked. Yug was sitting there with Manish and Siya. "Heyy, you're here. Look who's here waiting for you." Siya said dragging me in the class. "Hii, you look very pretty." Yug said, as I sat infront of him. "Thanks, I didn't know you were coming so soon, and that to in my class." I said surprised. "Well, you said you'll reach school by ten, so I just came to wish you guys luck and offcourse occupy the front seat. And about the class, Siya would explain better." He said smiling. "Yeah, well it wasn't that tough, it's a fest day so many people, who's got time to check who's coming who's not until you have a pass." She said proudly smiling. "Wow you guys are really crazy. And thankyou again, I was actually about to text you that I've reached." I said. "Okay now you guys, I think you should move to the auditorium, the fest will begin at eleven." Siya said. They were leaving when Yug turned around from the gate and we smiled looking at each other. Butterflies again!!
