CHAPTER X : Ex Turned Into A Friend?

"Kay... Why are you all dressed up?" Rey said entering my room. "Well I'm going to meet Yug, told you that day he's been texting to meet me." I said looking in the mirror applying my mascara. "Well you didn't tell me you're going today." He said quiet annoyed. "How does it matter Rey? I had to meet him today or tomorrow so I'm meeting him today he texted again last night asking to meet up for a coffee so I said yes. Well forget that you came to say something?" I said. "No, nothing important just came to ask if you wanna go somewhere or order in." "Oh okay, I'll be back in an hour or two then we'll go out." I said picking up my hand bag. "Ya, okay. Just be okay and take care. You say you're all moved on and everything but i know you're still hung up on him, otherwise why would you do all this plan revenge and everything." Rey said holding my hand. "Are you saying whatever I'm doing is wrong or stupid? Rey get this thing straight, I'm not doing all this because I'm still hung up on him or I want him back, I want to return him the pain he gave me in those years. I thought out of everyone you would be the one to understand me, this is why I didn't hide any of this plan from you, and now you're saying I'm still hung up on him? Seriously?" I said. "No you're getting me wrong, I just don't want you to get hurt anymore that's it." "Forget it, I'm getting late. Bye." I said getting out of my room.

It was 4:30 p.m and he said he will pick me up from my home. I stood outside my apartment gate waiting for him. "Gosh, for once can he be on time." I said standing there. After few minutes, he came to pick me up. "Seriously? Do you see the time? I mean for once can you be on time?" I said while sitting in the car. "Sorry, I got stuck up in some work." He said while driving to the cafe. "Offcourse! How can I forget you're a working guy now." I said looking at him. Yug dropped out after his school and got a job to support his family. We reached cafe in few minutes and he ordered two cold coffee without asking me. I looked at him and thought "Did he actually remembered that I like cold coffee or its just a coincidence." "Don't look at me like that, I remember you like cold coffee, we ordered it on our first date." He said looking at me smiling. "Wow, it's good to hear you remember things. So why did you wanted to meet me? Has all your girlfriends left you?" I said mocking him. " Still sharp as a knife with those taunts. Well not gonna lie I do have a girlfriend, her name is Ashima." He said. "So you wanted to meet me so that you can tell me about your girlfriend? Well you've got some balls. So what do you want me to say? Congratulations?" I said laughing. "No, I'm not saying that, see Kayra I know alot happened between us, you're angry with me, I had made mistakes, but so did you, there was alot of misunderstandings but you chose you breakup. It was your decision to breakup. I always had a special place for you in my heart and I still have that soft corner for you and I guess I'll always have that. It's just things are way too messed up between us. We can't be together but maybe we can be friends? We can talk sometime, meet up some day. Can we?" "Wow, I can't believe how simple you made everything that happened between us simple. You sure have some talent Yug, seriously. How easily you said it was my decision to leave, and what about your actions that led to my decision? You know what I'm literally not interested in discussing my past with you. If this is why you wanted to meet i think you should stop wasting my time." I said irritated. Yug was about to say something when the waiter came to us with our coffees. "Thankyou" I said to the waiter as he went after serving us. "Look Kayra I myself don't want to live in the past so let's just forget it, move on and be friends atleast. Can we? Please?" He said looking at me.

There was silence for few minutes on our table. "Can you say something? Forget it, let's go I'll drop you home." He said picking up his keys. "Okay." I said getting up from the chair starting to move out towards the car. We say in the car and he started to drive. We didn't spoke at all in the car. We reached my place and i was about to get down from the car when he held my hand and said, "Sorry if I spoiled your mood. I didn't mean to. I won't bother you again of you don't want to." "You know why we can't be friends Yug, because I don't trust you. If you want to be my friend, make sure I can trust you." I said removing my hand from his. "See all I can say is I've changed alot in these years, and so have you. Let's just talk hang out because I promise you I won't ask for anything more that friendship because I've found someone I really love." He said. "Really? Love? Do you the meaning of that word?" I said laughing. "Okay joked apart, you really love this girl?" I asked him. "Yes, I'm crazy about her, she's just perfect." He said smiling. "Great then, i hope she breaks your heart just like how you broke mine. Goodbye Yug. I'll try to give a thought on being your friend. Till then I'll keep hoping she breaks your heart." I said and got out of his car and moved in my apartment. And this time I didn't turned back.
