Waking up with a hangover and immediately being tasked with house cleaning is probably not the best way to start your day.
I completely forgot today was Dad's barbeque day and planned ahead to sleep until 2 PM. But then Mom woke me up at ten, saying we needed to clean the house and prepare everything before Dad goes to get Castle.
The whole time, I move through the house groggily, helping my parents do this and that. Dad is in the backyard setting up the barbeque and preparing everything needed while Mom stands in the kitchen, making appetizers and snacks.
While Dad's busy in the backyard, I get the chance to tell Mom about last night.
The moment the words 'Castle and I are dating' leaves my mouth, her jaw drops open so wide as if I've told her I'm pregnant.
Actually, telling her I'm pregnant might have been more believable than me getting a boyfriend.
"Are you serious?" Her wide-opened mouth isn't ready to close yet.
I nod. "It kinda just...happened." I shrug.
"You're telling me you actually have a boyfriend now?" She looks stunned.
"Yup."
"You're serious?"
I roll my eyes. "Yes."
She's still staring at me, barely blinking.
Finally, she closes her mouth, blinking multiple times. "Wow..." She mutters. "I guess miracles do happen sometimes."
I furrow my eyebrows when I don't hear her properly. "Hmm?"
She immediately shakes her head. "Nothing."
A big grin plasters on her face and she squeals. "You and Castle are dating!"
"Shhh!" I immediately shush her, checking behind me to see if Dad is anywhere around or not. He's not but it's best to take precautions.
"You're not allowed to tell Dad," I tell her.
"You seriously think I'm gonna tell him?" Mom raises her eyebrows. "He's the last person we need to tell."
I nod in agreement.
"Do I wanna ask for details?" Mom questions.
"Sure." I nod. "But then you'll also have to listen to a very descriptive make-out session."
She scrunches her nose. "Never mind then. I can't believe you got out of the house one night and came back with a boyfriend."
